the Week is a pretty
black and white kitty
who came to us from
the Amana area
when she seemed
to somehow get lost.
She definitely seems
to have been someone’s house kitty
since she is very friendly and loving. She seems to
get along with other kitties as well. If you happen
to have lost her, or would like to adopt her, please
contact us.
Help needed at Safe Haven
We are currently seeking to fill a recently vacated contract labor position at Safe Haven of
Iowa County. This is a paid position with the most
important aspect of this job being the love of and
desire to care for animals.
This person would generally be working with
our dogs, but some work with our cats is possible
as well. Duties will include feeding and walking
dogs, rotating them into the play yards, watching
for any health concerns, maintaining animal files,
facilitating adoptions, and of course the necessary mopping/cleaning of the kennels.
Not only will the perfect individual for the job
need to love animals, but will also need to be very
reliable, independent and trustworthy.
While we greatly value our volunteers, the
health and welfare of our animals is also dependent on continuity of care through a consistent
caregiver. Employment would be on a contract
basis, at least in the beginning.
Unfortunately we are not currently able to offer
any ‘normal’ benefits - but we do offer the unique
benefit of getting paid for being an important integral part of rescuing the homeless animals of
Iowa County, and as all of our volunteers can tell
you, that can be very rewarding.
