GAMING INTRODUCTION AND SCHEDULE
Welcome to the AmericasMart Building 1 and the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel, our new home
for gaming. We have a lot more room than our old but beloved home in the Atlanta Hilton but this
increased space will allow us to add new and interesting events, exhibits and games.
On the first floor of AmericasMart Building 1 you will find all of our Campaign Role-playing and
Non-campaign Role-playing events. On the second floor: Gaming HQ, Board games, Miniatures,
CCGs, Kids’ Sampler, Tokyo Attack and Mechcorps. LAN Gaming, War College/NSDMG, Artemis
Starship Bridge Simulator, LARPs, Videogaming Programming and Table Top Programming are
located in the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel, next to AmericasMart Building 1 and accessable via
skybridge.
Please note that gaming remains a 24 hour adventure! There will always be 24 hour access to
AmericasMart Building 1 via the skybridge from the Westin on the 6th floor and from the Peachtree
Street entrance next to Starbucks. During the parade on Saturday morning the Peachtree Street
entrance will likely be problematic so the John Portman Boulevard entrance will also be open.
For 2016 we have the usual maps included in the Pocket Program, the mobile apps and the
Gaming Guide to help you navigate. There is also signage that will help direct you to the proper
floor and meeting room. If all else fails and you have trouble finding where you need to be please
ask a helpful volunteer at Gaming HQ/Registration located on the second floor of the AmericasMart
Building 1.
Most games, but not all, run under a four hour session system. If a given event shows no duration,
assume it is three and half or four hours. If there is no listed cost, assume it is free.

PLAN FOR
2017!
Time
9:00 AM–1:00 PM
1:00 PM–5:00 PM
6:00 PM–10:00 PM
10:00 PM–2:00 AM
We try to plan tournaments and events so that each game finishes with at least fifteen minutes left
in the session to allow people to get to their next game. Large tournaments in some of the gaming
areas do not follow this pattern, and some games run over one and a half or two full sessions.
This is usually noted in the description area for that event. When browsing the events you will
usually find that each event is referred to by their session numbers and not the actual day or times
though some use both.
The friendly volunteers at Gaming Registration will be able to answer any questions you have or
help you find the answers you need. Gaming Registration will be open Thursday evening for you
early birds at 8PM and also every day of the convention at 8AM. Gaming Registration is located
on the second floor of AmericasMart Building 1.
In order to play in most events you will need an event ticket. Most event tickets are $3.00, but
there are many free demonstration games and a handful are more expensive. There are also
Collectable Card Game tournaments that charge more, and those tickets usually include the cards
you will use and keep in your games. You can also purchase generic tickets that are usable at any
event. If an event is sold out, you can show up for that event with a generic ticket and if anyone
with a “real” ticket for that event does not show up, you will be able to step in. Other tournaments
will be able to add additional space as needed. This is particularly true for the larger events where
there is more of a chance of a no show or cancellation.
We collect admission fees for events to fund prizes for most events. We award “Dealer Coins” to
the winners of some events that can be used as credit in the Exhibition Halls in the AmericasMart
and the Dragon Con Stores in the Marriott, Sheraton and the AmericasMart. Each coin is valued
at $5 in credit.

DRAGON CON 2016 GAMING GUIDE
ARTEMIS STARSHIP BRIDGE SIMULATOR
Created by independent game developer Thom Robertson, Artemis SBS turns any room into the
bridge of a spaceship--the original “room-scale VR experience”! LAN party meets LARP as your
crew takes the bridge; Artemis is a teamwork experience like no other!
Crews of 6+ players fill the roles of Captain, Helm, Tactical, Communications, Science, Engineering,
and (maybe) Fighter pilot. Bridge hosts provide a tutorial of the game controls, and then serve in
an advisory role during your mission: your crew “has the bridge”. The mission success or failure is
completely up to your crew!
Channel your inner Kirk/Picard/Janeway, Scotty/Geordi, Data/Spock… and report to our fullyfunctional PC LAN bridge in the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in room Chastain J on the sixth
floor. Not sure you have enough like-minded friends to join you? Stop in and sign up for an empty
crew slot, and make new friends!
GG 30-minute Crash Course sessions are for new/inexperienced players.
GG 60-minute Border War sessions are for experienced crews.
GG This event is included at no additional cost!
GG Due to expected high demand, we recommend that you sign up for mission times in advance. If a crew cannot
meet a quorum at their mission time, the crew may ask for volunteers from the audience.
GG Audience seating is available; seating preference may be given to crews who are signed up for the next
mission time.
GG Training videos will be playing in the audience/staging area: feel free to stop by early to watch the training, or
watch the previous crew and learn from their mistakes!
GG Though Artemis content is rated PG, we ask that players under age 15 be accompanied by a responsible
guardian.
GG Special effects lighting (strobes, color changes) will be in use during missions. All PC systems are provided;
no guest devices permitted, please.
MECHCORPS AT DRAGON CON
They’re back! MechCorps is the place to let off steam by beating on your friends in a virtual arena
by driving Giant Robots loaded to the teeth with guns, lasers, missiles and all types of weaponry.
12 players at a time enter the cockpit simulator pods after a short training session. Each player
uses seven display screens, over 50 controls, foot pedals, throttle and joystick to take on all others.
The game is easy to learn, but hard to master. Adjustable skill levels allow the novice to enjoy the
game, but can also give the veterans a challenge. Located in AmericasMart, Building 1, Floor 2 in
the West Hall See more info on the pods and the game via the Training Manual: www.mechcorps.

TOKYO ATTACK
Love arcade games? Wish you could visit an arcade in Japan? Good Luck! Tokyo Attack is bringing
a massive selection of Japanese arcade games to Dragon Con this year!
From Dance Dance Revolution to Initial D, pop’n music to Street Fighter, SOUND VOLTEX to

We are located in AmericasMart Building 1, on the 2nd floor in the West Hall. Make plans to stop
by for the Dance Dance Revolution tournament Saturday at 5pm!
SUNMESA EVENTS
Sunmesa Events has partnered with Dragon Con to host more Card Game events than you can
possibly play. Including Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Star Realms, Ascension, Netrunner,
Dominion, Star Trek, and Epic. Endless drafts, tournaments for complete sets of foils, and one of a
kind prizes will also be available. Dozens of free, casual and learn to play events, all supported by
expert judges and staff. Located in AmericasMart Building 1, Floor 2 in the East Hall

WAR COLLEGE / NSDMG
The fine folks at the NSDMG (National Security Decision Making Game) will return to the
convention this year. They will be running different formats of their games and doing some great
seminars and presentations. If you pay attention to the news or current events, or have an interest
in military and geopolitical history and/or contemporary affairs, it is a hoot!
The National Security Decision Making Game (NSDMG) is a political, military, and economic
roleplaying game that uses gaming as an entertaining medium to inform players of contemporary,
historical and futuristic geopolitical, military and economic issues.
The idea behind the NSDM game is: “You players are the Congress. You over there, you’re the
Cabinet. You folks in the corner are the Joint Chiefs. This guy’s the President. The scenario is that
it’s the world as you know it today. Fix it. You may start now.”
There are new issues and problems explored and different nations in play in every game, showing
a range of real issues across the world and modeling a number of different political systems. Can
you effect Iran as the U.S.? Can you take the Ukraine playing Russia? And how to you solve a
problem like Korea?
In addition to trying to fix the world as it is today, the NSDM staff will also be running Cold War
games, in which scenarios dealing with the East-West struggle are presented, with a particular
emphasis on counterfactual history (read sci-fi themes); and a futuristic game in which they
start players some years in the future with a tech-heavy scenario extrapolating current trends
that threaten to tip the tables on global powers, leadership and centers of gravity, to potentially
apocalyptic ends.
The NSDM lecture series will follow up on the performance from the last three years with detailed
presentations covering contemporary and historical geopolitical and military topics, including
prominent World War I and II anniversaries and examining the actual potential for apocalyptic
scenarios such as a massive, civilization-shaking pandemic or radiological catastrophe in the near
future.
Full details can be found at nsdmg.org. NSDM is also on Facebook, where they frequently post
links to, and discuss, articles of general and national security interest: facebook.com/pages/TheNational-Security-Decision-Making-Game/187557132044. Located in rooms Augusta A and H
in the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel, 7th floor.
KIDS GAMING
Are you worried that the next generation is not being properly trained for adventure? Come get a
passport for fun and sample the variety of options gaming has to offer.
The Kids Gaming Adventure provides an introduction to Board Games, Collectible Card Games,
Roleplaying, and Miniatures Games. Each genre has 45-minute sessions available in modular
fashion on Saturday and Sunday, so you can fit your participation to your busy schedule and
child’s interest. The program is designed for children ages 6 to 12, and an accompanying parent
is required at all times.
Games will be run in the Open Gaming area (look for the signs) from 12 noon to 6 pm on Saturday
and from 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday. Open Gaming is located in AmericasMart Building 1 on floor
2. Each participating child will receive a gaming passport that will be stamped each time they
complete their training in a new kind of game. Collect all four stamps and you can redeem your
completed passport for a prize at Gaming Headquarters.

Dark Passages (High Fantasy/Steampunk
LARP)
Restoring the Network
Date and Time: Sunday Night
The reconnection of damaged sections of the
Waygate network have caused a worrisome shift in
our world’s stability. In order to Rebalance the natural
flow of Magical energy, the Wayfarers Host is in the
process of evaluating the Waysystem worldwide, in
a coordinated effort to stabilize the problem areas
and make repairs in preparation for the Ritual of
Restoration. The Ritual will take place upon the
Great Compass, within the main Waygate Hub in
Maerisius, and must be performed beneath the first
light of the waxing Harvest Moon. The Hub connects
directly to the Astrolabe, and functions as the Central
Control Chamber for our world’s entire system of Ley
Lines and Nodes. It is the key to our most efficient
system of international transit.
recruiting local assistance as needed in order to
to simultaneously secure all of our most powerful
Secondary and Tertiary Hubs across the world. The
Wayfarers are already hard at work, but they need
the help of each and every willing Citizen to lend
expertise, craftsmanship, wisdom, and energy
to the endeavor. We will require assistance in
dedicating the Ritual space, assembling and placing
components, setting the Circle, and finally directing
and managing the flow of energy through the various
Subsystems during the ritual itself
As such, the Host will have a Guild Table set up
throughout the weekend leading up to the Ritual of
Restoration. Please stop by to learn more about how
you can help! We still have materials and items that
are desperately needed in order to accomplish this
task. Perhaps some of you can help us to scavenge
around amongst locals to see if you can locate some
of our missing Components before we begin.
Dark Passages LARP is a unique blend of High Fantasy
and Steampunk. Magic has been lost for a thousand
years, and is just now peeking back into the known
world. As such, every aspect of magic is strictly Find
Out In Play. Railroads and factories are in full swing
in Amari’z, while the first steam-powered ships have
just launched to sea trials, and the first six-guns have
just hit the open market. The rest of the known world
is still relatively primitive in nature. We have mingled
a wide variety of cultures, subcultures, and races, so
that every potential character concept should be able
to find its unique niche within the Realm of Othonia.
Our goal is to deliver a high quality, high intensity
game, with a delicate balance of combat, intrigue,
and roleplaying challenges. We take our players’
feedback very seriously, and make every attempt to
emphasize player-driven plotlines just as much as the
overall story.
http://www.darkpassageslarp.com/
In order to fully repair the physically inaccessible
areas of the network, the Host requires additional
resources above and beyond what their own ranks
can accomplish. While those at the Hub prepare
and enact the Main Ritual, other Wayfarers will
be coordinating the effort on a massive scale,

Forest of Doors Fantasy LARP
Winding Paths
Date and Time: Sunday Night
The world of the Dream has opened and its infinite,
labyrinthine delights beckon to all who dare. Come,
wanderlings, partake of your imagination.
Forest of Doors is a live-combat fantasy LARP in which
you play a denizen of one of nine distinct homeworlds,
or perhaps dozens of stranger shard worlds. In each
of these worlds, magical gates appear, leading to the
strange and unknown world of the Forest of Doors. In
essence, Forest of Doors is a multi-genre game with a
vast array of character possibilities. Our setting and rules
system promote a game that is fundamentally heroic in
nature, and character cooperation will be necessary for
survival in this unknown--and dangerous--frontier.
This, our eighth Dragon Con event, is a non-combat
event that foreshadows the tone and stories to come in
our live combat events during the next season. Find out
more at http://www.forestofdoorslarp.com!
Fractured (Dark Fantasy LARP)
an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) style of interaction
where game elements are added to everyday life. If
you’ve ever played a phone app where you “check in”

already participated in an ARG. Wait until you see
what IRE has in store for you this year…
LARP Land (Medieval Fantasy, CampaignStyle LARP)
The Hidden Port
Two town guards post a notice.
“ADVENTURERS WANTED.”
“Attention citizens! Our beloved King Marcus the
Wise requests qualified volunteers to help with royal
business. The nature of the task is sensitive, so only
the most qualified and experienced adventurers
need apply. The following is needed: Warriors,
Wizards, Healers, Rogues.”
“See a Town Guard for a chance to prove your merit,
and perhaps you’ll be debriefed on the task. More
information will be provided as need be. Thank you
citizens,”
“-Captain Valdor Buckner of the King’s Guard”
A Call to Arms
Date and Time: Saturday Night
Much has changed since the great secret of the
Fracture was revealed last year. The Free Peoples
of the Fracture have banded together to build a
civilization capable of taming the strange worldcreature they dwell upon. The League of Free
Townships meets in Convergence under the protective
influence of the Shrine of Mashoterelekalastno to
plan this epic endeavor: to fight back against the
world itself and make it a place where the peoples of
all worlds can create a new future together.
Fractured is a live-combat Dark Fantasy LARP in
which you play a denizen of one of seven dark Outer
Worlds. In each of these worlds, cracks in the fabric
of reality have begun to appear to a Place of No
Return. Your characters will be among the first to be
marooned in this new world. Will it become a paradise
or an abattoir? Fractured is, at its core, a dark fantasy
game with a diverse array of character possibilities.
Our setting and rules system promote a game where
disparate and often alien peoples are forced by
circumstance to stand by one another for the purpose
of continued survival
LARP Land offers 6 different genres (that don’t overlap
or mix), each with its own unique backstory:
GG Fantasy & Medieval: Two neighboring continents
are in the midst of a civil war, and adventurers
gather to thwart the forces of evil.
GG Steampunk: A brilliant scientist ushers in the
future with her steam technology, then disappears,
leaving the new world to fend for itself.
GG Zombie Apocalypse: The world has been torn apart
by the Zombie plague. Survivors try to stay alive,
while Settlers forge a new world.
GG Sci Fi: A dying planet, Human Inhabitants, Alien
salvage crews, Artificial Intelligence, Prophecies,
and a tear in the fabric of space time...
GG Crime & Investigation
GG Mature Theme (You must be 18 or over to play
this game)
