Since KemperSports assumed management of the property in November 2014, several golf simulators have been added to the facility, elevating the customer experience. Five new state-of-the-art GolfZon machines have been added to the dome’s amenities. Two GolfZon Vision virtual golf simulators are now functional. These free-standing, full immersion simulators allow golfers to virtually play a round at the top courses across the country including Chambers Bay and more than 180 others during Chicago’s long winters. During the virtual rounds, cameras record players’ swings and determine ball flight length on terrain simulated by the real courses. The facility also added three GolfZon GDRs, which are free-standing kiosks integrated into the pre-existing shot line. As with the Vision simulators, the GDR can track swing and ball flight length. The recording features and high definition playback are ideal for beginning golfers and instructors. The simulators also provide an opportunity for low handicappers to stay sharp during the winter months by playing a full round of golf, which would otherwise be impossible in Chicago. White Pines has also introduced a seasonal membership, which offers a variety of reduced rates on hitting bays and golf simulators, a point system to track customers’ time at the facility, and invitations to special events through KemperSports. Traditional aspects of the White Pines Golf Dome also remain. The facility, a 300-feet wide, 300-feet long and 100-feet high space, offers 45 hitting bays across two-levels, food and beverage and two top Illinois PGA instructors - Chuck Lynch and Dan Kochevar, who have both won ILPGA Teacher of the Year honors in their careers.
