Dear Residents,
As you may have noticed, we have been busy shooting quite a bit of stills, video, and drone footage
around Lakeridge this year for our marketing efforts to promote Lakeridge in media and print.
We will continue to film during the coming weeks, and well into October to capture the Fall foliage.
We hope you will help us create an atmosphere of congeniality and cooperation so that we can
portray Lakeridge in her true spirit of friends and families coming together.
While it is nearly impossible to have everyone sign a release form, we will do our best to respect your
privacy and your wishes not to be photographed.
We ask that in a quiet and respectful manner, should you see a photographer, that you let him know
your request for privacy and we will make every effort to exclude you from the photographs.
If we don't hear from you, we assume you are okay with releasing your image and the likeness to us
for the purposes of marketing Lakeridge.
Thank you for helping us show the world how truly unique and special Lakeridge is, and for helping us
move into a new era of prosperity and enrichment for all.
With our thanks,
The team at Linear Design

Stand-Up Paddle Surfing (SUP), or in the Hawaiian language Hoe he'e nalu, is an
emerging global sport with a Hawaiian heritage. The sport is an ancient form of surfing, and
reemerged as a way for surfing instructors to manage their large groups of students, as
standing on the board gave them a higher viewpoint. This increased visibility of what was
going on around them such as incoming swells.
The sport benefits athletes with a strong 'core' workout. Stand-Up Paddle Boarding/Surfing or
SUP’ing is popular at warm coastal climates and resorts, and is gaining in popularity as
celebrities are sampling the sport, and cross-over athletes are training with SUP. SUPs have
been spotted around the globe, anywhere there is easy access to safe waters, as well as in
the surfing lineups of the world. Another reason for the rise in popularity of stand-up paddle
boarding is that, unlike surfing, paddle boarding is very easy to learn. Within one hour you can
become very comfortable in the water and on your board. Stand up paddle boarding is also
more popular with women because of their lower center of gravity, women are often more
skilled at paddle boarding than men. Sorry guys! But this wonderful new sport is for
everyone; men, women, young and old!
Cost - $8.00 per person/hour

FOREST CAMP 2016
For children ages 5 to 7 & 8 to 12 years old
This year we’re offering 1- AMAZING WEEK for 2- AMAZING AGE GROUPS!
Aug. 29th – Sept. 2nd from 9:05 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Here is what to expect during a typical week of Forest Camp:
Your child will learn about nature by getting dirty as they come nose to nose with the mysteries
of the forest. Hikes and scavenger hunts on our newly blazed walking trails will add to the
excitement! Wilderness projects and learning outdoor survival skills such as building a shelter, starting a campfire by
using two pieces of wood and learning how to “hide & sneak” invisibly through the woods….CAMOUFLAGE, is what
Forest Camp is all about! Your camper will also enjoy, searching the perimeter of Ridge Pond for “Pond
Life”…creatures and plants. Campers will have fun creating nature art and playing games that apply the skills that are
learned throughout the day. Meeting new friends, storytelling and swimming, singing and learning to understand
the secret language of the birds is also what makes Forest Camp the unique program that it is!
Meet Our Camp Director, Justin Pegnataro
Justin mentored graduate students in teaching environmental education at the Yale School of Forestry, and coordinated an
experiential science program in New Haven. He holds B.S. degrees in both anthropology and biology, and has been
teaching children about nature for the past twelve years. We are excited to welcome Justin and his team to Lakeridge as
they bring their passion for nature and powerful commitment to our community.

Please provide a bag lunch and beverage for your child each day. Also, be sure to bring:
water bottle, hat, sunscreen, mosquito & tick repellant and medication if needed.
