Our lovely CEOs Bahman and Zahir have been shortlisted for Entrepreneur Of The Year 2014. I am so looking forward to the ceremony, which will be very lavish. I’m still deciding on what to wear – a floorlength side slit dress by Weise would look great on the red carpet but the black lace jumpsuit by Studio is perfect for dancing at the after show party… decisions decisions. We are spoilt for choice partywear wise this season, as you can see on page 7. Elsewhere in the magazine, new Style Council addition Stephanie Zwicky gives us the benefit of her style know-how on page 5. Plus, we pay homage to writer and actress Lena Dunham whose fearless love of fashion is an inspiration to us all. Have fun reading and happy shopping. we love PS. I’m thinking I will go for the gown and the jumpsuit. SHOP THE TREND ► NEW IN KNITS SHOP KNITWEAR NOW ► SANDRA PORTELLI VERPASS Don’t say we never spoil you. This season’s knitwear is just delicious, so be warned, it’s going to be tough to pick just one piece. We love the Manon Baptiste cardigan in particular. It’s a gift for layer lovers and can be worn for work or leisure. MANON BAPTISTE MANON BAPTISTE November must haves © WGSN (2) ZIZZI MANON BAPTISTE we love Gesa Hergarten, Buyer YOEK Flowers look fierce this season, as seen at Saint Laurent, Comme des Garçons and Dolce & Gabbana. We especially like big, dramatic florals for their flattering, figure finessing properties (tiny flowers create a wider surface area, while bigger blooms have the opposite effect). For evening, go for a floral print frock and team with black opaque tights and skyscraper ankle boots. I like my chosen floral piece to be the focus point of my outfit. Teaming it with navy or grey allows the print to take centre stage. Office chic ‘What I love about this jersey dress is its versatility. For a meeting, I would wear it with opaque tights, a leather jacket, and my hair tied back or in a plait. And if I was meeting my friends for lunch immediately afterwards, all I would need to do is let my hair down, take off the jacket, and et voila, a brand new look.’ Get the look The Does It All DRESS KIRSTEN MODEN We asked blogger and plus size model Theresa to pick her favourite piece of the season. This season, knitwear is on fine form, and I love the combination of pale biscuit and the soft grey of the dress. I matched the boots to my cardigan, and my wool hat to the dress for a relaxed yet put together look.’ Style Council We’re in THE PINK My favourite MANON BAPTISTE LBD ROBERTO CAVALLI KIRSTEN MODEN She’s the latest fashionista to join our prestigious Style Council and you’re going to love her. Paris chic personified, Stéphanie’s motto is ‘style is not a size, it’s an attitude’. Here are her party season picks from the latest collections… ‘One of my favourite colour combinations is powder pink and black. It’s simple, classic and elegant. So this beautiful dress by Roberto Cavalli White really caught my eye. One of the big challenges for putting together a going out ensemble is what coat to wear, which is why I picked this chic frock coat. It’s luxe enough for glamorous occasions and it provides a wonderfully smooth silhouette.’ SHOP NEW IN ► MANON BAPTISTE Stéphanie Zwicky ‘My shopping golden rule is ‘don’t buy something if you don’t already know what to match it with’. With this dress by Manon Baptiste, it’s a win win situation as it goes with everything. It appeals to my edgy rock chick side, too.’ ©WGSN – BURBERRY Wardrobe update Winter bombshell Pencil skirt plus pullover in winter’s pastel hues – a classic combination that’s versatile and va-va voom NAOMI AND NICOLE Seamless lingerie provides clean, smooth lines – well worth the investment. For a ‘work to wow’ look, go for long sleeves like this colour block optical illusion dress by Manon Baptiste. Clever sleeves aside, don’t avoid strapless or sleeveless styles altogether. That’s what shrugs and scarves are for. This chiffon ballerina shrug by Weise will look stunning over a dress. For a more dramatic look, this bold print scarf looks fab worn with a little black cocktail dress. ELENA MIRÒ Hands up who isn’t self-conscious about their upper arms? We thought so. Lots of us are and it is, after all, one of the hardest areas to tone up. The solution isn’t to buy lots of cardigans. Instead, invest in clever frocks that will add sleekness to your silhouette, and pay special attention to sleeve design and length. SHOP THE BRAND ► We love a heritage label. Gina Bacconi was created in 1913 by master tailor Jack Offenbach and 100 years on it’s still going strong. Hardly surprising when the designs are this decadent... As seen in Vogue and on a raft of red carpet celebrities, including Jerry Hall and Susanna Reid, this label is, or rather was, one of fashion’s best kept secrets. Proving a couturier’s approach to fashion needn’t cost the same as a small car, the materials used in each piece are beautifully put together. The ethos of the brand remains the same today as it did in 1913. ‘We want to be part of our customers’ special moments and help them look elegant and feel wonderful,’ says Offenbach. Job done, we say. we love Red alert by Gina Bacconi Lena – lovely in a Prada lace gown Celebrity look ‘ LENA DUNHAM Fearless and fabulous, the writer and star of TV series Girls never disappoints with her sartorial choices Inspiration Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them Marc Jacobs COMING NEXT ISSUE THE HOLIDAY ISSUE SHOP THE LOOK NOW ► SIGN UP TO SEE THE NEW ISSUE FIRST ► © dny We can all learn a thing or two from Ms Dunham. Much like her work, her style is all about breaking (so called) rules and embracing the body she was born with. These days, she favours a strong silhouette, one that accentuates her curves. She loves fashion but doesn’t take it oh-so seriously and the key to her effortless style is she wears the dress, it never wears her. © gettyimages KIYONNA KIYONNA Get the look MAGAZINE Discover all styles in the current magazine at a glance SHOP THE MAGAZINE NOW ►
