The first stove branded with the Handöl name was introduced in 1965. The designer was called Lars Lallerstedt, one of the Swedish pioneers within industrial design. He was later to become one of the first professors of industrial design in Sweden (1986). He founded Handöl’s design profile that has since permeated the brand. Since then, Lars-Erik Karlsson from Nibe (Handöl 9 and 10), Vitre Industridesign (Handöl 20) and now, Myra Industriell Design (Handöl 50), have further developed Handöl’s stove together with the Nibe Stove development department. Today it is one of the leading brands with regard to design, technology, heating efficiency and environmental-friendliness. 001 SWAN SYMBOL The swan symbol is your guarantee that Handöl 50 burns cleanly and efficiently. You do not harm the environment or the surrounding area. FIRE BARS The Handöl 50 series fire bars keep the wood in place above the grate. CONVECTION SYSTEM A short time after the stove has been lit, full heating output is achieved from the convection system’s hot air outlet found on the side. (Does not apply to the soapstone models) ASH-PAN The ash-pan is built-in and integrated with the other designs and is easy to empty. SUPPLY AIR FROM OUTSIDE All Handöl 50 series stoves can be connected to external combustion air. GRATE There is an attractive and practical grate inside the firebox, which enables the ash to easily drop into the ash-pan. FLANGES There are several flanges underneath the top that aid in heating the external sides of the stove. Heat is spread out into the room faster and you can also heat up your coffee on top. ADJUSTABLE FEET All models have adjustable feet. Practical if your floor is not completely horizontal. SOAPSTONE Soapstone has a unique ability to store and then radiate heat for a long time after the fire has gone out. A contrast-rich stove is created with the combination of black cast iron. HOTPLATE A hotplate is available as an option on soapstone versions. The entire top of the cast iron stoves acts as a hotplate. HANDLE The handle on the Handöl 50 series is easy to make removable. Take the handle off and put it to one side to keep it cool for the next time you add wood. The cast iron models are supplied with a chrome handle and the soapstone models with a black handle. Handles can be replaced. 21 MEETS ALL REQUIREMENTS The new Handöl 50 series is a modern cast iron stove. Designers, engineers and technicians have spent many working hours to produce a modern stove that surpasses today’s requirements. TYPE APPROVED AND P MARKED Tested and approved according to the stringent P marking regulations issued by the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute, SPI. This indicates that the highest quality requirements set by the EU and Sweden have been fulfilled. The stove is also CE marked, which is the EU’s common requirement for different products. EFFICIENCY An efficiency of 79% means that a large proportion of the wood’s energy content can be used and converted to heat that is spread throughout the room. N NEW OR DIC ECOLA B EL ENVIRONMENT Environmentally-friendly wood burning means that you should be able to run the stove efficiently at both high and low outputs, Handöl 50 can do both. The most environmentally-friendly output at which to run the stove is 3-7 kW, which we recommend. 378 001 Handöl 50 is the first cast iron stove in the world to be swan marked! As the premier stove manufacturer in Sweden, we at Nibe Brasvärme are committed to Swan marking our stoves. We are proud of the fact that our stoves meet strict requirements of Swan marking. The standards are worked out in consultation with experts from business, environmental organisations and the authorities. Choosing to Swan mark our products is one aspect of our vision to be a company of the future with equally high quality standards regarding the environment. Essentially all consumption affects the environment. There are, however, some products that affect the environment less than others. These products are Swan marked. A Swan marked product is always a step towards a better environment, at the same time the purchase gives you high quality and excellent function. The following characterises a Swan marked stove • Produces very low emissions of environmentally dangerous gases and waste • Is efficient with low fuel consumption • Is manufactured without using unnecessary poisons or metals • Has clear installation and maintenance instructions • Has been tested and satisfies tough quality and function standards 22 THIS IS HOW THE STOVE WORKS RED ARROWS CONVECTION AIR The cool room air is drawn into the convection zones on the sides of the stove. The air is heated and rises, and within a few minutes, the hot air flows out into the room. The cool room air continues flowing in and is then heated. This is called convection. GREEN ARROWS – CLEAN BURNING SYSTEM The Clean Burning system is a system that contributes to environmentally-friendly combustion at 3-7 kW. When the air control on the front of the stove is slid closed the Clean Burning system takes effect. Pre-heated air is supplied to the fire through a duct system and an air distributor in the rear of the stove. This has the advantage of the stove never having too little oxygen but always burning cleanly and efficiently. In addition, the burn time is longer. BLUE ARROWS PRIMARY COMBUSTION AIR The amount of combustion air, and therefore the intensity of the fire, can be regulated using the control on the front of the stove. The combustion air is heated to extremely high temperatures and supplied through air flushing by the inside of the glass surface. The Handöl 50 series is also prepared for the connection of combustion air directly from outside. 23 24 25 MODELS Handöl 51 Handöl 52 Handöl 52T 26 Handöl 53 Handöl 54 Handöl 54T 27 POSITIONING THE STOVE Angular models COMBUSTIBLE CEILING HANDÖL 51 COMBUSTIBLE CEILING HANDÖL 52 Combustible Brännbart ceiling tak Combustible ceiling Brännbart tak A = height from floor to top flue connection B = height from floor to c/c smoke outlet rear C = distance from back to top flue (c/c) D = distance from back to smoke outlet rear 520 420 2000 2000 520 135 495 420 495 135 D 20 295 295 B 705 A 825 B 705 A 825 D 20 C 65 C 65 Weight 135 kg · Width 495 mm · Depth 420 mm · Height 825 mm · Output 3-7 kW · Efficiency 79% COMBUSTIBLE CEILING FIRE-RETARDANT WALL HANDÖL 52T Fire-retardant wall of brick or concrete Brandmur 635 290 Brännbart tak Combustible ceiling 50 Weight 128 kg · Width 495 mm · Depth 420 mm · Height 825 mm · Output 3-7 kW · Efficiency 79% 0 70 420 135 495 Fire-retardant wall of brick or concrete Brandmur 180 B 705 A 825 295 875 D 20 50 2000 525 140* C 65 385* Weight 172 kg · Width 495 mm · Depth 420 mm · Height 875 mm · Output 3-7 kW · Efficiency 79% 400 300 COMBUSTIBLE WALL Brännbar vägg 500 745 500 0 84 745 Permitted area forför combustible Tillåtet område brännbartmaterial. material Tillåtet område för brännbart material *To prevent the discolouring of painted fire walls we recommend the same side distance as for flammable walls. 28 280 150 Combustible wall Brännbar vägg 280 100 150 80 200 80 280 180 180 380 380 735 280 150 300100 390 Brännbar vägg Combustible wall 400200 POSITIONING THE STOVE Round models COMBUSTIBLE CEILING HANDÖL 53 COMBUSTIBLE CEILING HANDÖL 54 Combustible ceiling Brännbart tak Combustible Brännbart ceiling tak A = height from floor to top flue connection B = height from floor to c/c smoke outlet rear C = distance from back to top flue (c/c) D = distance from back to smoke outlet rear 2000 165 455 550 165 C 100 C 100 HANDÖL 54T Weight 149 kg · Width 550 mm · Depth 455 mm · Height 825 mm · Output 3-7 kW · Efficiency 79% FIRE-RETARDANT WALL Combustible ceiling Brännbart tak 590, 695** Fire Fire-retardant wall of wall brick or concrete Brandmur 50, 150** Weight 143 kg · Width 550 mm · Depth 455 mm · Height 825 mm · Output 3-7 kW · Efficiency 79% COMBUSTIBLE CEILING 100 295 295 B 706 A 825 D 55 B 705 A 825 D 55 245, 350** 2000 455 550 5* 78 170 Fire-retardant wall of brick or concrete Brandmur 215 100 B 705 A 825 295 875 D 55 50 * 2000 5, 63 455 550 110* C 100 385* Weight 190 kg · Width 550 mm · Depth 455 mm · Height 875 mm · Output 3-7 kW · Efficiency 79% 400 300 695 Brännbar vägg Combustible wall Brännbar vägg 315 150 100 280 80 200 100 200 280 180 300 400 500 380 150 350 Combustible wall Brennbare BrännbarWall vägg 200 400 100 300 150 COMBUSTIBLE WALL 500 745 470 78 5 745 Permitted area forför combustible Tillåtet område brännbartmaterial. material för brännbart material ** Minimum installation distance when using Handöl 50 base plate and connection of outdoor air through Tillåtet floor atområde same time. NIBE Stoves is part of the group and owns several well-known trademarks, of which Handöl is one. The majority of NIBE AB’s products are self-produced in Markaryd. NIBE AB believe in aggressive product development, long-term strategy, and quality are the hallmarks of the group. Down-to-earth values that lead to success. NIBE AB is quality certified according to ISO 9001 and environmentally certified according to ISO 14001. NIBE STOVES AND THE ENVIRONMENT NIBE Stoves has a development department of the highest class and the entire staff is committed to environmental awareness. All of our stoves have been environmentally certified for many years in order to minimize the harmful impact on the environment. But we wanted to do more. Therefore, we were the first in Sweden to certify our stoves according to the new P mark, which is the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute’s own quality mark. Our stoves fulfil the requirements that are considerably more stringent than the European regulations for efficiency, safety and low emissions. There are, however, other aspects that carry great weight. Operation and maintenance instructions must, for example, be easy to understand and be of high quality. In addition, random checks are carried out at our factory. Handöl’s stoves make wood burning an environmentally friendly, renewable and, not least, economical alternative. HIGH TEMPERATURE WITH LOW OUTPUT Environmentally-friendly wood burning means that wood can be burnt at low stove outputs, as low as 3 kW, but still be burned optimally inside the fire box. In many fire boxes, the temperature in the fire place drops when burning at low output. Incomplete combustion is caused and the environment receives unnecessary amounts of emissions. Our new technology makes it possible to burn at low outputs, but still achieve a high combustion temperature inside the fire box. It is due to this fact that the Handöl stoves can burn across the entire output range with very low emissions. LEADING DEVELOPMENT Today, wood burning is a long way from being an inefficient way of heating a house. Therefore, we believe it is important that stoves have clean discharges. This aim drives our development forwards and large resources are committed to continuously developing better and more efficient stoves. Through technological development and certification, we hold our position as Europe’s leading stove manufacturer. 30 31 OR DIC ECOLA M B 001 341 TR IL J ÖMÄRK YCKSAK 115 KBR GB 0712-1 439590 · PRODUCTION Nibe Inhouse · PRINTING Markaryds Grafiska · PHOTOGRAPHY Micke Persson, Kalle Melander etc · STYLIST Agnetha Wendel · Thanks to Mio Möbler etc. · Rights to make any changes reserved.
