The Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre Foundation L Ca elebrating Remarkable Thank you/Merci Year of Giving J A N UA RY 1 – D E C E M B E R 3 1 , 2 0 1 2 ABOUT US The Perley and Rideau Veterans’Health Centre Foundation he Perley and Rideau Veterans‘ Health Centre Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Health Centre. We provide quality care for seniors, serving veterans and an increasing number of seniors from the community. T The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre is one of the largest not-for-profit long-term care centres in Ontario. It has expanded its services to create the Perley Rideau Seniors Village that includes 139 speciallydesigned apartments, Assisted Living Services for those in need at home and in the new apartments, respite care to help caregivers of family members with dementia, convalescent care, and various on-site health-oriented services. recreation and creative arts programs and purchase equipment such as baths and lifts and improve the grounds. In 2011, the Foundation embarked on a $5 million Building Choices,Enriching Lives Capital Campaign. For more information see www.buildingchoices.ca. All funds raised are dedicated to the construction costs of the two seniors’ apartment buildings and the associated amenities. The Foundation benefits primarily from major private gifts, estate gifts, in memoriam donations, direct mail, special events, clubs and associations. The Perley and Rideau Veterans’Health Centre Foundation is governed by a dedicated Board of Directors. During its 25-year history, the Foundation has raised more than $20 million. Funds have been used to build the original campus buildings in the early 1990s and the Perley Rideau's Guest House in 2004-06. More than $900,000 has already been transferred to The Perley and Rideau Veterans’Health Centre for the Perley Rideau Seniors Village.This helped to finance the two independent and assisted living apartment buildings and amenities.
