To Lobsang Chogni la, Financial Director Association TathagataGarbha November 2015 Subject: TCV Dharamshala Activity Report for November 2015 Dear Friends at Association TathagataGarbha, With the examination approaching in the second week of December, major school activities are already carried out. Children are now focusing more on the academics for the examination. Highlighted here are some of the events carried out in the November month. On the Children’s day, all the staff made the day special for the children. The various sections performed variety of cultural shows and made the children laugh their energy out. The two funniest performances were the dwarf dances by the teaching and non-‐teaching staff. Games for the children were organized despite the cultural shows and with all the staff combined fund pooling; every child enjoyed very special meal for the day. Dwarf dances by the teachers and the office staff Games for Children on the Children's Day One of our ex students named Loten Namling, who resides in Switzerland came to our village school and shared his story. Tibetan Warrior based on Loten Namling’s struggle for freedom and it shows his radical struggle that pushes him to travel to India and meet politicians and His Holiness the Dalai Lama to seek advice. He showcased the film to our school children and had a question answer session with them. Many appreciated the movie and it left many in tears too. The grade V students from our junior section had their story reading day. Each one of the child had the synopsis of their stories with characters drawn on the chart for presentation. While most of the audiences who went to child by child and listened to their story telling; some of us, asked questions for the work they did on the chart for the presentation. Not all the children were very fluent in English and so couple of children I was listening to were requesting me if they could express in Tibetan language. But I never let them and instead kept asking questions and encouraged them to try harder and finally the children could make me understand their stories. I was also catching them with their vocabularies while appreciating them for their wonderful art work on the chart. Some of them had a beautiful pictorial description of the protagonists of the stories. The grade IX and X students have started with their final examination and the rest of our students will have their exams from the 11th December. I end here with much regards for all the support you continue to render. We remain ever grateful. Thank you for being the hope for the needy children. For the Tibetan Childrens Villages. With much regards, Tsering Choedon (Mrs.) Sponsorship Head
