The Custom is no longer
made and used an angle iron
lift frame that was installed
behind the trucks bumper.
The Classic which is still available but not
being made for most of the new trucks
uses a tubular lift frame that installs in front
of the front bumper and could be removed
at the end of the season. The plow was
attached with two "L" shaped hitch pins
and uses a single lift chain.
SWITCHING PLOWS FROM ONE TRUCK TO ANOTHER
When your old plow truck gives out and you decide to replace it with a
new vehicle, keep in mind that your old truck probably had the Classic
style setup and Meyer might not make that design setup for the new
truck. About the only thing that would be reusable in this case would be
the moldboard itself. Updating the old plow to fit the new truck would be
more expensive than purchasing a complete new setup.
MD II
Clevis
The EZ Mount® Plus and MDII unit is the current setup that
Meyer is manufacturing for the new trucks. The MDII lift frame
could be removed with the blade or it could remain on the
truck. The MDII uses 6 colored pull pins to remove the plow &
lift frame, 4 blue and 2 yellow. The newer design, EZ Mount®
Plus, uses only 2 blue pull pins and the blade and lift frame is
removed as one. Both units use a dual lift chain.
If you are selling your truck and it has the Plus/MDII setup,
remember to remove the universal clevis as this part is not
included in the new mounting carton.

Over the past few years, Meyer® started with a clean sheet of paper and
completely redesigned their entire line of plows. The result was a simplified
design that creates a stronger, more durable plow. All components are
joined together using slot and tab construction – a sturdy and more precise
way to fit steel together. Attack angles and A-frames have been redesigned
to increase strength, especially at key pressure zones. Three reinforced
points-of-contact and a tubular bar along the entire back of the moldboard
increase torsional strength.

Easily adjust the drop speed of
your Meyer E-60 unit
If your truck is equipped with a Meyer E-60 unit and
the blade floats like a
feather or drops like a rock when you
are lowering your plow, then you need
this new external adjustment kit from
Mill Supply. Over time the factory
adjustment screw in the Meyer E60
units turns by itself increasing or
decreasing your drop speed without
you knowing. You could adjust it one
week and the next week it could be
back to the way it was. Or if you are
tired of the lower adjustment procedure
- remove plug, adjust screw, reinstall
plug, try plow, still not right, remove
plug, adjust screw, reinstall plug, try plow, still not
right......
With this new adjustment kit you can adjust the drop
speed externally and then lock it down so it won’t
change again saving you time and also not waking
your customers when the blade hits the ground so
fast it breaks ice. This kit does not correct 'Drifting'
which is a condition where the plow lowers itself as
you drive.

Solenoid Check - To check your "A", "B" and "C" solenoid coils for
magnetism use a screwdriver by placing it on the nut securing the coil.
You should feel a strong magnetic pull when the switch is operated.

Check "A" valve O-rings. Replace if necessary. Check "A" valve, does
it move freely? Replace if necessary. Does plow hold now?
NO
Have unit rebuilt.
NO
Does plow drop and angle left? If so,
replace "B" check valve. If it still does not
hold, replace "B" valve. If these steps do
not work, replace the base.

DRAINING FLUID FROM PUMP
Should be done before every season
For Meyer® E-47 units with drain plugs and all E-60 units
FLUSHING OF ANGLING RAMS
Should be done after pump has been rebuilt or if fluid is
contaminated or incorrect.
• This applies to plows with one hose on pump and one hose on plow.
• Units with two hoses on plow can use this same procedure.
• Procedure does not work with every brand of plow.
1. With plow disconnected from truck, position plow with moldboard face down. (“A” frame up)
2. Connect angle hose and elbow together (or connect both hoses together).
3. Angle plow manually all the way to the right (pull “A” frame to the right).
4. Disconnect coupler. Using an extra coupler, couple opposing ends thus letting fluid come out of hose. If your unit has two hoses on plow, drain fluid from passenger side hose.
5. Using an empty container, (i.e. milk jug, oil bottle) place drivers side hose in bottle and manually angle plow to the left. This forces old oil out of cylinder. Let all oil drain from hose.
6. Both angling cylinders should now be empty. - See below if fluid is contaminated or incorrect.
7. Remove extra coupler that was installed in step 4.
8. Reinstall plow on truck and correctly connect hoses to pump.
9. Make sure correct amount of fluid is in pump.
10.Raise plow 2 inches off ground.
11.Using control in truck, angle plow left and right a few times to refill cylinders. (See www.plowpumpservice.com for a remote switch harness for a "one-man-operation" for Meyer units)
12.Lower plow and recheck fluid level in pump.
If fluid in angling rams is contaminated or incorrect you can also
flush them in the following manner:
Once rams are empty (step 6), take a bottle with fresh plow
fluid and put drivers side hose in bottle making sure hose is
submerged. Now manually angle plow to the right. This sucks
the new fluid into the ram. Remove the extra couplers that
were installed in step 4 and connect the angling rams together.
Now manually angle the plow left and right to flush both rams.
Repeat starting with step 3 above.

1. With ram in down position, remove filler plug from top of pump and then remove drain plug and let fluid drain out.
2. Now manually pull lift arm up to remove oil from around lift ram. Push lift arm back down.
3. Remove two filter plugs and remove and clean filters in kero-
sene. Collapsed filters should be replaced.
4. Refill pump using low temperature plow fluid to within 1-½" from top.
5. Operate plow up-down and left-right a few times and recheck fluid level with lift ram all the way down.

For E-47 units without drain plug
You will need an old hose, adapter and a spare female coupler
1. Purchase correct adapter.
Part #47191 if you use 5/8" wrench to remove plugs.
Part #47192 if you use 11/16" wrench to remove plugs.
2. Install female coupler on end of hose. Other end of hose can be cut off leaving it about 24" long.
3. With ram in down position, remove filler plug from top of pump and then remove plug and filter that is closest to the valve body.
4. Install adapter with male coupler into this filter hole.
5. Connect hose with female end of coupler to the adapter and hold other end in empty bottle.
6. Have a partner operate the pump from inside the truck. (See www.plowpumpservice.com for a "one-man-operation" using remote switch harness). Fluid will be expelled into the bottle.
CAUTION: Do not run pump for an extended amount of time without fluid in it.
7. Now manually pull lift arm up to remove oil from around lift ram. Repeat step 6.
8. Push lift arm back down.
9. Remove other plug and filter and clean both in kerosene. Collapsed filters should be replaced.
10.Refill pump using low temperature plow fluid to within 1-½" from top.
11.Operate plow up-down and left-right a few times and recheck fluid level with lift ram all the way down.

E-47 units hold about ¾ of a quart of fluid. E-60 units hold about 1-¾ quarts
Angling rams when emptied hold an additional ½ quart.
