The Christmas Story
“And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all
the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing
Syria. So all went to be registered everyone to his own city.
Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of
David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be
registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were
there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn
Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was
no room for them in the inn.
Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch
over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory
of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them,
“Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of a great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you
this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe
wrapped in a swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the
highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go
now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they came with
haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely
known the saying which was told to them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her
heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was
told to them.

Itasca Band Christmas Concert
Itascans gathered Monday evening to hear the
annual Christmas program at 7:30 p.m. After a
successful marching season, the Wampus Cat band
was eager to debut their seasonal concert beginning
with Clint Lockhart and the seventh grade band.
This is Mr. Lockhart’s first year to direct, and
leading his seventh graders was a great success.
Under the direction of Patrick Middleton, the
high school band continued the program with songs
such as, “King of Kings” and concluding the concert with
“Carol of the Bells”, a favorite Christmas tune for many.

Tanner Seeking Third
Term As Clerk
Announcing her candidacy for Hill
County clerk in the March Republican
primary, Nicole Tanner seeks to serve
her third term in the position. The
candidate joined the staff of the Hill
County Clerk’s office in June of 1994.
Mrs. Tanner was appointed county
clerk upon Ruth Pelham’s retirement in 2005.
“It was an honor to have the support and confidence of our
former county clerk,” said Mrs. Tanner. “She trained and
mentored me in every aspect of the job and I learned so very
much from her.”

Re-Election As District
Clerk
Angelia Orr has recently announced
her intention to seek re-election to the
office of Hill County district clerk. Mrs.
Orr was elected to her first term in
2010. “I enjoy serving the citizens of
Hill County and seeing what can be
accomplished when we work together for the better good.
“I remain ‘Proud of our Past and Focused on Our Future,’
and that future is coming quick with electronic filing in Hill
County being mandated by the Texas Supreme Court in January 2016”.

On September 14th, 2013, students from the Hillsboro Unified Tae Kwon Do School-125 W Elm-Hillsboro, Texas tested
for new belts.
After the grading, Master Charles Kight-Chief Instructor
of the school selected students he felt had made the most improvement since the last grading.
