This Marjorie Ball giclee print, titled "Summer Stroll I," is of a woman walking down Bellevue
Avenue in the summer. East Greenwich artist Marjorie Ball paints familiar scenes from novel
perspectives. Trained as a graphic designer and art educator, she has an understanding of the
formal aspects of design and the expressive possibilities of visual images. She paints outdoors
or in her studio in the woods next to Frenchtown Brook. Her works are in public and private
collections in the United States and Japan.
105. New England Winter

From his studio in Pittsfield, N.H., artist Gene Matras captures the serenity
of life in rural New England. His pen and ink drawings vividly depict natural
scenes, wildlife, farms and a variety of other subjects. This piece, signed by
Matras, is a limited-edition print.
106. Blanca‟s Bench
Value: $1,795
Erica Hopper, who studied graphic and industrial design at San Diego State
University and continued her art education at the University of The
Americas in Puebla, Mexico, creates images that are both compelling and
abstractly interpretive. She creates delicately modulated surfaces with
subtle imagery. Her color use is strong, yet positioned to create a quiet contemplation and
colorful vivaciousness. Her work is in both private and corporate collections throughout the
United States. This piece, titled “Blanca’s Bench” is a limited edition print.
107. Dusk

Artist Anne Packard has painted the Outer Cape, Ireland, Italy, Greece and
Mexico for more than 30 years. Arden Gallery in Boston and Onessimo Fine
Art in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, are among the many galleries where
one can find Packard’s work. Paul Parcellin of Art New England says that Packard’s pieces
“reward with an abundance of surprises and rich, imaginative color. They aren't your average
day at the beach.” This piece, “Dusk,” is a limited edition print.
108. Jelly Beans

Since moving to Tiverton, R.I. from New York in 2005, artist Mary Sexton
has been working primarily with oils and a palette knife. She finds it both
challenging and satisfying to paint local landscapes as well as still-life. Her
whimsical jelly beans add a pop of color to any room.
109. “Mandala Symbolism”

Fans of Abstract Expressionism will love this contemporary piece. The acrylic
painting on canvas is 24” x 24”. The paintings of artist Edward Williams have
been exhibited at the Reign Gallery and the Spring Bull Gallery in Newport.
110. Inaugural WaterFire

“Inaugural WaterFire” is a 24” x 60” oil painting of the
“Time To Come Together” event that took place on
January 4, 2011. This particular WaterFire was held to
mark the culmination of the 2010 gubernatorial election.
Then Governor-elect Chafee and several other state officials took part in the event that
showcased 100 torchbearers surrounding WaterPlace Park.
Artist Keith Fennelly is a Big Sisters of Rhode Island staff member and participated as a
torchbearer that evening.
111. Mixed Messages

Claudia Middendorf created this mixed media collage. Her work is about the
natural and supernatural. Claudia believes the physical universe invites us to
consider time, space and the ephemeral nature of the human condition and
that she is a spectator taking the time to look into small places and large
worlds.

“Creation is in the Turning of a Shell”

Artist Ian Mohon created this 35mm silver gelatin print. A graduate of the
University of Rhode Island, Ian is a Senior Gallery Assistant and Technical
Assistant at Gallery Z in Providence. Last summer, Ian was a featured artist
in the 1st Annual URI Alumni Art Exhibition at the University’s College of
Continuing Education. His work is also on display at the home of URI
President David Dooley.
113. “Tool IV”

Artist J.A. Vilmain’s oil on canvas works have been featured at the Providence Art Club. “Tool
IV” is a still life and measures 9” x 12”.

Art Association, South County Art Association, Attleboro Art Museum, Providence Art Club and
an Associate Member of Art League of Rhode Island. Her work has been accepted into juried
shows at all of these. This piece is an original watercolor of a marsh.
