The Crêtes Itinerary
> The Hiker's Charter
4 (Alt. 500 m)
You are on the boundaries of the communes of Herbeys and
Vaulnaveys-le-Haut. Do not take the path on the right which
goes towards Herbeys but instead take the path completely on
your left practically making a half turn as you do so. This path
goes down towards the Alberges in a north-easterly direction.

I follow the marked trail and don't create shortcuts.

and I leave my planned itinerary with family or friends.

9. I don't start campfires outside of specifically designated
areas.

5 (Alt. 412 m)
Once at the bottom do not go as far as the roundabout, but
instead take the first road left “le chemin des Alberges.” You will
notice the imposing houses built at the beginning of the XXth
century. The path comes back on to avenue d’Uriage. Cross
over it and walk along the tree-lined alley in the direction of
Uriage Park, walk along the park and come back to the parking
lot just at the entrance of Uriage.

Départ : Uriage (office de tourisme)
1 (Alt. 410 m) Go to the parking lot behind the tourist office, walk
to the end of it in the direction of Gières and cross the small
bridge. Follow the path (sentier des anciennes fabriques) which
slopes gently in the direction of Sonnant d’Uriage. Once at
Sonnant continue on the path which passes in front of the stores
as far as the zebra crossing. Cross the road (do not enter the
housing lot des Peiffendes), follow the road for 450 metres then
turn left as you cross the bridge without a parapet.
2 (Alt. 350 m) Walk into the housing lot of Vaujalas as far as the
crossroads. Opposite, a path goes up into a meadow, up towards
the woods. Climb this path which is quite steep, in a southeasterly direction. Once in the woods this path separates slightly
towards the right and goes on to reach some fields. Above you
you will then see the characteristic houses of Villeneuve d’Uriage.
3 (Alt. 580 m) Walk through the hamlet and pass in front of the
old washing fountain below the chapel in the direction of Uriage.
Take the first path on the right (chemin des Taillées), continue
along this flat path which turns full south (from now on called
chemin de Champ-Quieu). You will find yourself out in open fields
on the ridges between Villeneuve d’Uriage and Herbeys. From
here you can admire the magnificent views over the Belledonne
and the Vercors mountain ranges. You reach the highest point of
the tour (615 m) before starting on the gentle climb down facing
south-west in the direction of Vaulnaveys-le-Haut. Do not take a
path on the right which leads to a farm and continue instead down
along the ridge before arriving at the spot where the paths fork.
