MARIA ALM
along with the villages of Hintermoos and Hinterthal, is nestled in
the imposing mountains of the Steinernes Meer, the Hochkönig and
the Hohe Tauern. It is a town plucked from the good old days with a
lot of charm and storybook-like character. Many buildings have been
preserved over the years such as the pilgrimage church, with one of
the highest church towers in Salzburger Land, the Almerwirt from the
year 1530, as well as Vorderjetzbachgut farm from the 14th century.
Just as idyllic and original as the towns themselves is community life,
which is strengthened by many traditions such as harvest festival, in
which everyone is invited to participate. Since the 1960’s, the town has
experienced an enormous upswing in tourism. In winter, along with
the excellently groomed ski slopes of the Hochkönig region, winter
hiking paths, cross-country trails, three floodlit toboggan runs and ice
stock lanes, as well as Pilgrims’ Advent invite you to go on beautiful
adventures. In summer, you can head up – with or without lift – to the
mountains to go hiking, climbing in the Natrun forest ropes garden,
or (e-) biking. The Hundstein (elev. 2,117 m) is a true all-rounder and
Europe’s highest grass-topped mountain accessible by bike.
DIENTEN
is located at the foot of the impressive Hochkönig. It is a family-oriented town with a lot of history that is just waiting to be discovered by
young and old. The “Hikes of Legend” paths reveal numerous legends
– such as those of the Übergossene Alm and the White and Blue Lady
– along with many other mysterious stories from earlier times. With
around 800 residents, the village is quiet and laid-back – everything
can be explored by foot or bike. There are 340 km of cleared hiking
paths in the area, including the majestic Königsweg at a length of 74
km, as well as one stage of the Via Alpina, which leads from Trieste to
Monaco. Especially beautiful: the tour “from hut to hut”, allowing you
to take in the amazing views and savor traditional country cooking.
Wrapped in a thick blanket of white snow, the hill farms in winter
seem almost like something from a storybook. This tranquility definitely makes Dienten an insider tip in the Hochkönig ski region, the second largest contiguous ski area in the Alps with 33 lifts and perfectly
interconnected network of slope pistes.
MÜHLBACH
is located in an idyllic valley full of green meadows encircled by the
Mandlwand and the Hochkönig. The history of the town reaches far
back: the Illyrians came 4000 years ago to mine for copper, a mining
tradition which continued here until the 19th century. Today, people
come to Mühlbach to enjoy nature and spend the most beautiful time
of their year here. The landscape in summer as well as winter is a true
paradise. The bizarre rocks of the Mandlwand and the Hochkönig up
beyond the lush meadows treat the eyes to a unique panorama treasured by nature lovers, hikers and bikers alike. Mühlbach has so much to
offer especially for families. Twice as many animals live here as people,
transforming summertime Mühlbach into the “Mountain Village of
Animals”. Over 30 exciting attractions including petting zoos, Flying
Fox park and much more, delight visitors of all ages. In winter, snap
on your skis and enjoy gorgeous days spent on 120 km of seamlessly
connected slopes around the Hochkönig, dash down the mountain
on a toboggan, or trudge through the glistening, pristine snow with
snowshoes.

All courses are suited for all age groups. The
littlest ones will enjoy themselves on the
„Schlawutzel“ course especially. The 100
m-long zipline on the panoramic course leading to the „Big Boss“ is a highlight for everyone due to its length and speeds of up to 50
kmh. The 14-meter free fall is as safe as can be,
but a real test of nerves and courage. A visit to
the Natrun Forest Ropes Course is possible in
any weather: In the scorching heat of midsummer, the forest is shady and pleasantly cool; On
rainy days, the branches provide protection so
you’ll barely even get wet!
Private lessons (60 minutes each) by appointment at the tennis court in Maria Alm
next to the Sommerstein pool. Price includes

Atop a rugged rocky outcropping,
Hohenwerfen castle has towered over the
Salzach river valley for more than 900 years.
It has been besieged, destroyed and rebuilt,

Sleigh rides start right here at the farm and
lead you through the peaceful snow-covered
winter woods. A ride lasts about 1 hour, while
a stop for refreshments is also possible. Call
ahead for sleigh rides at any time. Romantic
outings on a winter’s evening are also offered!
Our restaurant combines coziness with a
modern hut atmosphere, decorated with
lots of antique wood and natural materials
to make you feel completely at home.
The Jufenalm’s big winter attraction for
the whole family is, of course, the floodlit
natural toboggan run and cool sleds with
brakes! Upon request, we will pick you up
with our tractor (please call in advance). You
can also reach us by car (all-wheel or snow
chains), taxi, or simply hike up on foot. We
look forward to seeing you here!

HOCHKÖNIG CARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS
For the issue and use of the Hochkönig Card, the following
conditions are expressly stipulated.
DEFINITION
The Hochkönig Card allows all people, who stay at one of
the participating Hochkönig Card accommodations and
who have completed the registration form, to claim the
stipulated services of Hochkönig Card partner businesses.
The services are indicated in detail and mentioned in the
Hochkönig Card brochure.
SCOPE OF SERVICES/ DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
All Hochkönig Card partner businesses mentioned in the
available brochure are obliged to temporally and quantitatively provide the services as designated by the Hochkönig
Card without restriction and in full scope in accordance
with participating Card businesses’ own general terms
of transportation and terms of business. Holders of the
Hochkönig Card must take note that the operation hours
of individual partners, mainly due to weather and seasonal
circumstances, will not necessarily correspond with the entire timeframe of the card season. With several businesses,
there may be longer waiting times due to capacity reasons,
and many services may be used only upon advance registration. Holders of the Hochkönig Card must agree with the
specified waiting times, possible entrance restrictions, and
the capacity notices of the partner businesses. They waive
any kind of compensation for damages if the service providers, due to operational reasons and at no fault of the providers, cannot render, or can only partially render the offered
services. The service providers are only liable in the event
of gross and/or intentional negligence, not in the event of
slight negligence. In addition, there is no liability for clothes
or other objects of value that are brought along.
The holders of the Hochkönig Card must furthermore take
note that Hochkönig Tourismus GmbH is entitled to terminate agreements with individual card service providers due
to pressing reasons even during the season. No resulting
claims for liability have any legal standing.
NON-NEGOTIABILITY/ LOSS
The Hochkönig Card is non-negotiable! In the case that services of the Hochkönig Card are not used, there will be no
compensation. Upon loss of the card, the Hochkönig Card
accommodation business must be notified immediately. After a new card is issued, the lost card loses its validity effective immediately.
VALIDITY
The Hochkönig Card is valid within the period starting on
the day of arrival until and including the day of departure.
RATES
The Hochkönig Card is not available for public sale. Claim
to the card is held only by guests who stay at one of the
Hochkönig Card accommodation providers and are registered.
CHILDREN
Hochkönig Card: children are defined as all those aged 6 to
14 listed in the guest registration card.

USE
The holder must show their Hochkönig Card to receive card
benefits. The card will be checked for validity by the service
provider with a card reader or with just a visual inspection
by noting the card number and the name of the holder. The
card holder is obliged to show a valid photo ID if asked,
otherwise, use may be denied.

DAMAGE
In the event of damage to or technical defects of the Hochkönig Card, the guest can refer to their Hochkönig Card accommodations provider. They will exchange the damaged
card.
HOCHKÖNIG CARD WINTER BENEFITS
MISUSE
With incorrect use or suspicion of incorrect use, the Hochkönig Card service partners are entitled or obliged to withhold the card without replacing it. Upon misuse or justified
suspicion of misuse, charges will be filed. The card holder
is liable for incorrect use of the card by a third party. Upon
loss or theft of the card, he is obliged to promptly report this
incident to the Hochkönig Card accommodation business.
There is no entitlement to replacement of the card or lowering of the purchase price.

LEGAL DISCLAIMER OF HOCHKÖNIG TOURISMUS
GmbH
The holder of the Hochkönig Card must note that Hochkönig Tourismus GmbH is responsible only for transactions
between the service providers and Hochkönig Card accommodation businesses.
The holders of the Hochkönig Card with respect to Hochkönig Tourismus GmbH waive any imaginable warranty
claim or claim for damages independent of whether or not
the service provider or Hochkönig Card accommodations
provider is guilty of any damages. It is stipulated that – in
the instance of damages –Hochkönig Tourismus GmbH is
not liable for such a claim, especially if neither the service
provider nor the Hochkönig Card accommodation provider are adjuncts of Hochkönig Tourismus GmbH. Likewise,
with respect to Hochkönig Tourismus GmbH, no compensation for damages is due to the holder of the Hochkönig
Card for cases in which services mentioned in the brochure
by the partner businesses are not fulfilled.
NOTES
PLACE OF JURISDICTION
For all disputes concerning the Hochkönig Card or possible
claims for damages or warranty claims, the exclusive jurisdiction of the court responsible for Maria Alm as well as the
exclusive application of Austrian laws is stipulated. Hochkönig Tourismus GmbH reserves the right to make print and
design changes.
