9 days - July 27, 2015
$6275 pp double

discounts up to $100 pp
This 8-day voyage operates one-way from Prince Rupert to Bella Bella in order to access
some of the most remote and wild areas of the British Columbia coast. The Great Bear Rainforest is the largest remaining area of temperate rainforest in the world. There are several
routes along the ‘Inside Passage’ and we will weave our way south along different channels, guided by the wildlife, weather and group interests. The geography ranges from the
towering Coast Mountains with waterfalls cascading thousands of feet, to large coastal islands such as Pitt, Campania and Princess Royal, and right out to the low-lying islands bordering Hecate Strait. You will sail in comfort on board the Island Odyssey which is a private
charter, just for WGT customers. The ship features 6 private cabins, 3 shared bathrooms with
2 hot showers, a comfortable salon with a natural history library, and a well-equipped galley. On deck, the large deckhouse provides a comfortable spot to watch for wildlife.

CHRISTMAS IN VICTORIA

Christmas in Victoria is an annual tradition for Wells Gray Tours. We have stayed at Chateau Victoria for
many years and our guests love the Christmas décor and spirit. All rooms are one-bedroom suites. The
hotel has a fine location near the corner of Burdett and Douglas, close to the Inner Harbour and Legislative Buildings. Highlights for Christmas 2014 include a reception with entertainment by the Victoria Operatic Society, a dinner theatre at Oak Bay Beach Hotel, the Christmas Lights Festival at Butchart Gardens,
and Crazy for You at Gateway Theatre. Some wonderful meals are planned including Christmas Dinner in
the Blue Crab at the Coast Harbourside Hotel, Christmas Brunch at Vista 18 atop the Chateau, and Boxing Day Afternoon Tea at Abkhazi Garden Teahouse.
25 NEW YEAR’S ON CATALINA ISLAND
$2775 pp double $3470 single
9 days - December 29, 2014
For New Year’s 2014, Wells Gray Tours is offering a unique event on Santa Catalina Island off the coast of
California. We fly to Los Angeles and ride the 1-hour fast ferry to Catalina Island. The Wrigley Gum Company bought the island in 1919 and has carefully controlled its development for the past century. In 1975,
88% of the island was deeded to the Catalina Island Conservancy, founded by the Wrigleys, and it still
protects the island today. About 3,700 people live on Catalina, almost all in the island’s only town, Avalon. Its cobblestone streets are narrow, quaint and winding. This tour stays 4 nights at the waterfront Pavilion Hotel in Avalon. Activities include a drive to the island’s interior, a culinary walking tour, the Wrigley
Botanical Gardens, and a tour of the Art-Deco Casino built in 1929 (this was not a casino for gambling;
the name is from the Italian language meaning “gathering place”). For New Year’s Eve, we attend the
gala at the Casino and relive olden days when 6,000 people gathered in its ballroom for the dances.
NEW YEAR’S IN VANCOUVER
3 days - December 31, 2014
$590 pp double $690 single
Start the new year right with two shows and a birds eye view of our nation. Our accommodation for two
nights is at the Century Plaza Hotel, located downtown on Burrard Street, two blocks from the shopping
mecca of Robson street. On this tour we visit Fly Over Canada for a coast to coast breathtaking aerial
journey through the latest in virtual flight ride technology. Then on New Year’s Eve enjoy a party in the
lounge of the Hotel and celebrate the arrival of 2015! The first show we see is Crazy for You — a toetapping good time as New York in the 1930s swings to life in this high-octane musical. Between the hijinx
and hilarity, you’ll be humming along to memorable songs like I Got Rhythm and Nice Work if You Can
Get It. The second show, Salute to Vienna has been billed as the world’s greatest New Year’s concert.
For over 60 years, the Vienna Philharmonic's “Neujahrskonzert” broadcast has thrilled 1.2 billion people
annually around the globe – a joyous celebration of the musical legacy of Johann Strauss Jr. In 1995,
concert producers, Attila and Marion Glatz, presented their first Salute to Vienna in Toronto and it was
modelled carefully after the original.
2015 SHOW TOURS
CINDERELLA & CAROUSEL IN SEATTLE
4 days - February 27, 2015
$850 pp double $1050 single
Two great Rodgers & Hammerstein shows in one long weekend
From the creators of The Sound of Music, Oklahoma! and The King and I come two other fabulous shows: Cinderella is the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical that’s delighting audiences with its contemporary take on
the classic tale. This lavish production features an incredible orchestra, jaw-dropping transformations and all
the moments you love — the pumpkin, the glass slipper and the masked ball. Get transported back to your
childhood as you rediscover some of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most beloved songs including In My Own Little
Corner, Impossible/It’s Possible and Ten Minutes Ago in this hilarious and romantic Broadway experience. Cinderella was composed in 1957 and this 2013 revival is getting rave reviews. Carousel was Rodgers and Hammerstein’s second musical, produced in 1945. A tempestuous love story told with heart-breaking tenderness,
Carousel follows the passionate romance between carnival barker Billy Bigelow and the sweet mill worker Julie
Jordan. After his untimely death, Billy is given one day – a final chance to redeem his life – and returns to the
wife and daughter he left behind to make things right. You’ll be swept away by such cherished songs as If I
Loved You, June Is Bustin’ Out All Over, and You’ll Never Walk Alone. Time Magazine named Carousel the Best
Musical of the 20th Century in 1999.
WASHINGTON WINES & THEATRE
5 days - March 25, 2015
Featuring the revival of the musical, Camelot
$995 pp double $1250 single
discounts up to $60 pp
Camelot tells the story of King Arthur who rules his kingdom with new ideals, bringing peace to a troubled land.
The celebrated score includes the classics “If Ever I Would Leave You,” “The Simple Joys of Maidenhood,” and
the title song “Camelot.” This tour also offers excitement for your taste buds! You will savour delicious wines from
Lake Chelan Winery, a four-course dinner with wine and food pairing at Tsillan Cellars Winery, a gourmet dinner
at Patsy Clark’s Mansion and an orchard ride at Orondo Cider Works with cider sampling and donuts.
MAMMA MIA IN SEATTLE
4 days - March 27, 2015
$790 pp double $995 single
Two Seattle musical comedies in one long weekend
Theatre is a great way to celebrate the full range of human emotion, and our two shows on this tour focuses on
the lighter side. Mamma Mia is a truly uplifting experience that will make you laugh and cry and jump for joy.
The show features ABBA's greatest hits woven into three wonderful love stories: a young girl about to be married; her mother about to confront the past; and the best love story of all – the audience with the cast! This
heartwarming and hilarious tale includes over 20 classic ABBA songs including Dancing Queen; Knowing Me,
Knowing You; Money, Money, Money; SOS and of course the title song Mamma Mia. You will quite literally be
dancing in the aisles! No Way to Treat a Lady is a musical comedy thriller about a publicity-crazed actor turned
serial-killer. It is based on William Goldman’s best-selling novel in 1964 that became a renowned movie starring
Rod Steiger, Lee Remick and George Segal, then a Broadway musical in 1996. With a devilish blend of humour,
romance, and murder, No Way To Treat A Lady is an exciting cat-and-mouse game complete with befuddled
detectives, meddling mothers, and glamorous socialites.
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA IN SEATTLE
3 days - May 8, 2015 (Interior North), May 9,2015 (Interior South)
$595 pp double $750 single

The Phantom Returns to Seattle
One of the most famous musicals of all time, The Phantom of the Opera, was created by composer Andrew
Lloyd Webber and lyricists Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe. It opened at Her Majesty's Theatre in London in
1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles. The Broadway production at New York’s
Majestic Theatre opened in 1988 and is still playing 26 years later, making it the longest running Broadway show
in history with over 10,500 performances. It is estimated that over 130 million people have seen the show in 27
countries and the box office gross world-wide stands at $5.6 billion. It has won over 50 awards including the
Laurence Olivier and Evening Standard Award for Best Musical, seven Tony Awards, seven Drama Desk Awards
and three Outer Critic Circle Awards. The touring production coming to Seattle has been hailed by critics as
“bigger and better than ever before”. It boasts many exciting special effects including the show’s legendary
chandelier, the burning stage, floating candelabras, the paddle across the lake, plus new lighting designs, new
staging and new choreography. The beloved story and thrilling score will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this Phantom one of the largest on tour.
WINTER ESCAPES IN BC
LONG BEACH STORM WATCHING
