A er comple ng music degrees from Prai‐ rie Bible College (Three Hills, AB) and the Royal Conserva‐ tory of Music, she has had her composi ons performed at many concerts, New Music Fes vals, and on CBC radio. Her pedagogical composi ons are now listed on many different syllabi across the country. Passionate about Canadian mu‐ sic, Janet was the centre coordinator for the Saskatoon branch of Contemporary Showcase un l 2015. She is a member of the Alliance for Canadian New Music Projects, the Saskatchewan Registered Music Teachers' Associa on, and the composer's collec‐ ve Red Leaf Pianoworks. Currently, Janet works as a member of the fine arts depart‐ ment at Millar College of the Bible in Pambrun, SK where she lives with her husband and three children. She is also in demand as a piano teacher, adjudicator, and clinician. Gene Aulinger ‐ Band Gene, and his wife, Diane, have lived in North Ba le‐ ford for twenty‐three years. Gene currently works with the North Ba leford City Kinsmen Band, Ba lefords Concert Band, and Light of Christ Roman Catholic School Division Bands. Previous to that, Gene was with the Living Sky Public School Division. He directed the high school Band and Choir, and was the Music Con‐ sultant for the division for sixteen years. A er re ring from classroom work, he accepted a posi on as the Arts Consultant with the Living Sky School Division. Previous to his me in the Ba lefords', he was a full me Band director with the Kindersley School Division for fourteen years. Mr. Aulinger went to the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. While there, he com‐ pleted a B.A. in performance and received his Teaching Creden als. He has completed several courses at the University of Saskatchewan. These courses were transferred to Northwestern State University in Louisiana, where he completed a M.M. in 1998. 6 Aulinger taught at the Saskatchewan Summer School of the Arts at Fort San the last eight summers it was open. He has been a member of the Board of SMEA. He chaired the Provincial SMEA Conven on in 1991 and has coordinated the SMEA Honour Groups five different years. SMEA awarded Gene an Outstanding Achievement Award in 1996 and the SMEA Honourary Life Membership Award in 2005. Gene is currently a member of the Board of the Saskatchewan Band Associa on. He served on the Music Advocate Commi ee. He was the coordinator of the Summer Band Camp at North Ba leford from 1986 un l 1991. Gene received the Dis nguished Band Director Award in 2005. In 2006 and 2010, he was a guest presenter at the Sask. Music Conference. Under the direc on of Aulinger North Ba leford groups have given performances and been selected as a demonstra on group for clinicians and speakers at Sask. Music Con‐ ferences. Gene has adjudicated fes vals and led workshops in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Louisiana. During these events, his goal has been to create an apprecia‐ on of music and performing. He has performed several recitals on clarinet of nine‐ teenth and twen eth century literature, and has recently been a guest performer with the Gallery Singers. Lisa Hornung ‐ Vocal Honoured as one of the University of Saskatchewan's Arts and Science Alumni of Influence, Saskatchewan born contralto, Lisa Hornung has been acclaimed for performances in repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary composers. Her voice has been called "rich and powerful" and her stage presence has "inspired audiences and musicians alike". Most o en heard in Handel's Messiah, Ms. Hornung's orchestral performances also include Beethoven's Mass in C ma‐ jor, Mozart's Requiem, Corona on Mass and Vesperae solennes de Confessore, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, the Durufle Requiem, Ruth Watson‐Henderson's From Darkness to Light, Verdi's Requiem, Bach's Magnificat and Christmas Oratorio, Vivaldi's Gloria, Mahler's Symphony No. 2 and Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Vaughn William's Magnifi‐ cat, The May Queen by Benne and the Alto Rhapsody by Brahms. In addi on to her oratorio and orchestral work Ms. Hornung enjoys an ac ve recital career with recent performances including works by Brahms, Schumann, Marx, Debus‐ sy and Handel as well as Christmas, Spiritual and Folk repertoire. She has toured the United States and Europe as a soloist and ensemble member with the American Spir‐ itual Ensemble. Very excited about the talents of composer Paul Suchan, Lisa was de‐ lighted to record his full nup al mass en tled May, and to have premiered the role of May Bartram in his opera The Beast in the Jungle. In accordance with her belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to sing, Lisa runs a non‐audi on community youth choir and o en collaborates with elementary and high school musical endeavours. She also conducts a non‐audi on community men's choir and is the founder and director of Summer School for the Solo Voice. Well known as a teacher, adjudicator, clinician and choral coach, Lisa lives in North Ba leford, Saskatchewan.
