Supervisor
This brochure provides a description of programs and special
events offered for Spring/Summer 2011 by the Town of Eastchester.
Registration is required for most programs offered by the Recreation
Department. In general, participation is restricted to residents of
the Town of Eastchester and the Villages of Tuckahoe and Bronxville.
Registration for programs is accepted only at the Recreation Office
and can be delivered in person or by mail. Phone registrations will
not be accepted. Registration for most programs is limited and
will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis, with in-person
registrations processed before mail-in registrations.
For most programs, the mail-in registration form located in the back
of this brochure can be used. For Camp Rainbow, Camp Galaxy, and
Camp Quest, you must use the specific summer camp registration
form, also located in the back of the brochure. When mailing in a
registration form, please send separate checks for each program.
All checks should be made payable to the Town of Eastchester. A
$20.00 fee will be charged for all returned checks. Full payment
is expected at the time of registration, and program fees will not
be pro-rated. If at any time you have any questions or concerns
regarding any of our programs, please call our office at 771-3311.
The Recreation Department Office is located on the second floor
of the Town Hall Building at 40 Mill Road; please feel free to stop by
on any weekday between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
Fee Policy
The Recreation Department maintains a policy, which requires
individuals in programs to help defray costs involved. Fees have
been established for each program based on the costs of operating
the program and the nature and the number of individuals
served.
We understand that some families may have difficulty paying for
summer camp fees, and we wish to help those who are truly in
need and wish to send their children to Camp Rainbow, Camp
Quest, or Camp Galaxy, only. For those needy families who may
be interested in financial aid for summer camp, please note
the necessary requirements: Your camp application form, 20%
deposit, and financial aid application form with required income
verification; all must be in the Recreation Office prior to May 31 for
consideration. We regret that we cannot make exceptions, as we
need ample time to carefully review each application. Additionally,
all fees determined to be owed must be paid prior to the child
starting camp.
Also, check out the Town’s website at www.eastchester.org. If
you wish to receive e-mail notifications with up-to-the-minute
information about what is happening in the Town of Eastchester,
you can place yourself on the Town’s e-mail distribution list. Simply
go to the Town website’s Recreation Department page, click on
“sign up for Recreation Updates” at the top left of the page, fill in
your information, and submit it.
How to Watch a Good Program Be
Eliminated
Refund Policy
Nothing kills a recreation program faster than residents who wait
until the last minute to register. There is a point when a program
must be cancelled or modified if there is insufficient registration.
All programs require a high level of coordination, often including
facility scheduling, staffing, volunteer recruitments, and purchasing
of supplies. PLEASE REGISTER EARLY!
Generally, refunds are granted only if a program is cancelled by
the Recreation Department. The Recreation Department reserves
the right to cancel any program and issue appropriate refunds
whenever it is considered in the best interest of the Department.
Registrants assume full responsibility for any changes in their
personal life, which may affect their ability to participate. In
rare cases, a participant may encounter an unforeseeable, and
unavoidable situation that they feel may warrant a refund of fees
paid. These situations will be reviewed on an individual basis by
the Superintendent, who will then make a refund determination. A
$10.00 processing fee will be retained by the Town in all cases that
refunds, partial refunds, or program transfers are granted. Camp
refunds require a $25.00 processing fee. For all refunds, proof of
payment and a written request stating the reason for the refund
is required.
Colavita
Insurance
The Town of Eastchester does not provide accident insurance for
any of its programs. All persons participate at their own risk and
should make certain that they have their own insurance.

Picnic Reservations
The Town of Eastchester welcomes the participation of all residents
and recognizes the importance of providing recreational programs
in the most integrated setting. If special accommodations are
needed to assist in the meaningful participation and inclusion
of a disabled participant, please call the Eastchester Recreation
Superintendent at 771-3311.
The Town allows group picnics at Labriola Park on weekends and
holidays during the hours of 10 AM and dusk. Labriola Park has a
brand new playground for the children to use. Picnic Permits are
required and may be obtained at the Recreation Office. Reserve
your space early. All permits are granted on a first-come, firstserved basis. No rain dates can be scheduled.
The Recreation Department (serving Eastchester, Bronxville, and
Tuckahoe) is also part of the South East Consortium for Special
Services, a non-profit organization, which provides year-round
therapeutic recreational programs for persons with disabilities.
The Consortium offers a variety of weekly programs, for disabled
persons ages five through adult. For further information, contact
Jerry Peters at South East Consortium, 740 West Boston Post Road,
Mamaroneck, NY, 10543; (914)698-5232; e-mail [email protected].

Dear Resident:

With the Spring season upon us, Lake Isle Country Club is open and available to all residents. Many of
our members are residents of the Town of Eastchester and its villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe who
look forward to returning each year to enjoy such a great place so close to home.
To facilitate with the enrollment for the new season, we had recently mailed out a membership packet to
all residents. We would also like to invite those who are new to our community to come by our
membership office to inquire about what we have to offer and even view the facilities.
Lake Isle’s par 70, 18-hole championship golf course continues to retain its original character as one of
Westchester’s finest golf courses, open April through November. Golfers are offered pro shop services
that include cleaning and storage of golf clubs, a variety of merchandise and, personalized and group
instruction for all levels and ages. An efficient tee time program makes for timely rounds of play. There
are numerous tournaments held throughout the season, competitive as well as non-competitive for all to
participate.
Our spectacular pool facility consists of five different swimming pools, including a regulation size
Olympic pool, a diving pool with two diving boards, two kiddy pools, and an adult pool for those ages 18
and over. The pool season is from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, open 7 days-a-week.
Group swimming lessons are available for ages 4-10 and private lessons are for ages 3 and up. Some of
our activities at the pool include poolside music on Saturdays, family entertainment nights on Thursdays,
teen pool parties on Tuesdays, late night swimming on Fridays, and a big celebration on 4th of July. There
is also a swim team that competes with other pool clubs along with a pre-team for the younger ones. The
snack bar offers a wide variety of food and beverages, including hot & cold sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs
and pizza.
There are eight outdoor har-Tru tennis courts, open from mid April through October. Overhead lighting
provides for night tennis on four of the courts. Reservations are accepted 7 days-a-week May through
September and on weekends in April and October. There are team matches and tournaments for
competitive play and round robins to assist players in meeting a suitable partner or opponent.
Lake Isle is a great place for all to enjoy, whether you come daily or occasionally, with your family or
friend. We look forward to seeing you here this Summer!
