OUR COMPANY
Witham’s Coffee is an Australian owned family business, founded in 1994 by husband and wife
team, Lance & Gillian Witham. The company was started out of the desire to introduce freshly-roasted,
high-grade specialty Arabica coffee to the coffee lovers of Sydney.
With generations of coffee heritage behind him, Lance has extensive knowledge and experience in all
aspects of coffee; from growing, trading, roasting and advising on café set-up and barista training.
We are very proud to be coming up to our 20th anniversary; a telling sign that in a fiercely
competitive industry we have proven to be a company with focus on product quality & consistency,
excellent customer service and integrity. Over the years we have accumulated an enviable following of
loyal customers; from large & small cafes, corporate offices, caterers, delicatessens and homes.
We look forward to welcoming all new customers to our extended family and hope you enjoy our

With almost 20 years of industry experience, we understand the challenges faced by café owners &
operators. We’d like to take as much of the stress out of the coffee aspect of your business as possible.
Coffee sales make up a major part of a cafes profits as the markup on cups of coffee far outweigh
food markups. For this reason you should take coffee very seriously in your business – from the quality
of the bean to the skill of the baristas preparing the beverages.
A loyal coffee following will be the most important profit maker for your business.
With the average cup of coffee only costing between $0.35-$0.70, it is important not to skimp on the
quality of your coffee beans. Developing repeat business when your coffee is delicious is easy, but losing
business when your coffee is inferior is far easier!

We try to ensure you never run out of coffee by adding you to our “How’re You Doing?” call
sheet. We will phone on a regular basis to take your order so you don’t have to think about it!

We happily offer credit – just give us your credit card details!
As a small business we cannot afford to offer long trading terms to our customers.
Our payment policy is COD, or prepayment via a credit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard and AMEX
with no surcharge added. Most customers choose to have their details on file with us and we charge on
invoicing.
We realize that for some organizations this is not manageable and we will offer a Strictly 7 Day
trading term if necessary. Please ask us for a Credit Application if you would like to arrange this.

affordable servicing and after-hours technical support. This ensures you will only have minimal
downtime in the event of a technical issue with your machine – absolutely essential when you are
running a busy café.

discount off the recommended retail price. This can be a saving of as much as $500-$1200
depending on your chosen machine.
2. FINANCE MACHINE
We can advise on the best machine to suit your business and arrange finance for you through
Silverchef who are a dedicated hospitality equipment finance company.
Through Silverchef you can RENT-TRY-BUY for as little as $40/week with the option to

This arrangement is entirely between the client and Silverchef – Witham’s Coffee has no

3. FREE-ON-LOAN MACHINE
We can offer an espresso machine free-on-loan to approved customers, under a two year

The price per kilo of coffee is increased to reflect the cost of the machine to us –the amount
will depend on the value of machine installed and coffee volume used.

COFFEE MACHINE SERVICING & TECHNICAL SUPPORT
It is important to maintain your espresso machine and grinder on a daily basis to ensure its
optimum working condition.
In the event of a technical problem with your espresso machine or grinder, phone our office on
9482 1122.
For after-hours please call the office number and the answering machine message will include an
after-hours mobile number to contact.
It may be possible to assist you over the phone to resolve the issue, however if it proves to be a
technical problem we will arrange a technician to come to your premises as soon as possible.
*All servicing costs and machine parts are for the customer’s account.
Witham’s Coffee call out fee is $60 + $60 per hour (or part thereof). Not all technical problems can
be fixed by our staff and we may need to engage our third-party technical support company.
Coffee Works Express is our third-party technical support company and is the Wega machine
distributor and service company. Their contact number is 9533 2693. You may call them directly or we
can arrange on your behalf.
*When a machine is a free-on-loan machine from us, there will be certain regular servicing costs that
will be for our account.
BARISTA TRAINING
We encourage all of our wholesale customers to invest in staff barista training.
Having well-trained baristas is absolutely essential to the success of your cafe and with our VIP
COFFEE CREDIT PROGRAM you will be subsidised for 80% of your training costs.
It is far too easy to turn premium, high-grade, freshly-roasted coffee beans into a less than perfect
cup of coffee, without the skills of a well-trained barista.
The characteristics of a good barista include the following:

Product knowledge and an appreciation of quality coffee.
Consistent quality control.
Ability to work at speed and under pressure.

1. WITHAM’S IN-HOUSE BARISTA TRAINING
 Facilitated within our dedicated barista training room at our Roastery in Hornsby.
 Two comprehensive hands-on courses are available: Barista Fundamentals & Barista
Professional.
 Maximum of four students at a time to ensure a one-on-one learning opportunity.
 Unique opportunity to tour our Roastery and for your staff to get a sound appreciation of
where their coffee is coming from.
 You will find that the more your barista knows about where your coffee comes from, how it is
roasted and despatched the greater the passion they will have for the product. This always
results in greater coffee sales as they feel a connection with the coffee and tend to talk about
it with enthusiasm to your customers.
 Cost per student: $190 (GST incl).
 Cost is subsidised via our VIP COFFEE CREDIT PROGRAM.
2. ON-SITE TRAINING
 If you would prefer an on-site training session within your own establishment this can be
arranged.
 We offer all new customers one FREE on-site session with our professional trainer, for you
and your staff.
 Ongoing training sessions are charged at $275 for approx 3 hour session.
 Travel time will be charged for interstate and regional NSW areas at $65/hour.
 Training on Sundays or Public Holidays will be available by special request and the price
negotiated.
 Tailored packages may be arranged for ongoing staff training within your own establishment.
VIP COFFEE CREDIT PROGRAM
To ease the financial expense of staff training we have developed a Coffee Credit Program where
80% of your training costs will be subsidised when the course is undertaken in-house at our Training
Room.
