The Planning Committees of the Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival cordially invite you to join us at the 3rd Annual FINE ARTS FEAST Saturday, February 25, 2012 Open Range Southwest Grill Restaurant at the Bliss Creek Golf Course 5:00 pm Cash Bar* 6:00 pm Dinner and Program In 1998, the Kaneland School District conceived and presented its first Fine Arts Festival, a celebration of the arts which strives to encourage young people’s involvement in artistic endeavors and to challenge them to develop their abilities. The Festival combines student and professional visual artists, hands-on workshops, and professional performing artists and ensembles, and annually draws approximately 3,000 students, families, and community members for a day of culture and fun. Since then, the Festival has grown to offer more fine arts events throughout the year. This year, the Festival has found it especially difficult to find funding, even from some of our returning donors. Therefore, this event is vital to the success of the Festival. Your meal is free! During the evening you will have the opportunity to learn more about the KCFAF and contribute to this important endeavor. Your donation to the Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival is 100% tax deductable. Seating is limited to 150 guests! Please RSVP to Maria Dripps-Paulson by Friday, February 17, 2012. *Since alcohol will be available at this event, those attending should be at least 21 years old. A special thank you to Chef Greg and the Open Range Southwest Grill Restaurant, for sponsorship of this event – providing the facility and meal at no-cost to the KCFAF or Kaneland School District. The Holiday in the Grove committee wishes to thank the community and the volunteers during the December 3, 2011 event. We feel that there was great success in many areas of the day’s events and we hope you feel the same. This is a new beginning for the committee and we never could have pulled it off without the 50+ volunteers. By word of mouth and advertising, we were able to bring back the Breakfast with Santa event and other various activities. We were able to continue the tradition of supporting the Between Friends Food Pantry with a donation of $900.00, as well as $150.00 in groceries and 50 free breakfasts. In addition, we gave Holiday Spirit a donation of $400.00. On Thursday, February 16th, 2012 we will be holding a community gathering to go over some points about the 2011 event and begin the planning phase of the December 1, 2012 event. The meeting will take place at the United Methodist Church at 6:30 pm. We plan to make the 2012 event even better and we hope you will join us! We plan to invite all those who participated in the 2011 event and anyone who would like to join us in 2012. We will start holding monthly meetings beginning in March. Anyone is welcome to attend. The meetings will be held on the second Friday of every month at the United Methodist Church at 6:30 pm. You can see the specific dates on our website: www.holidayinthegrove.com. We are looking for additional people for committee chairs and co-chairs.
