2016, the EE Center
will be offering weekly walks through the
Tannersville Bog at
10am. These 2 ½ hour
walks will be guided
by an Environmental Educator from the
Center who will teach
you about the Bog,
a very unique boreal bog for this area,
owned by the Nature
Conservancy.
The
Bog is filled with bird
songs and interesting
insect eating plants.
Participants
will
meet at the Bog parking lot by 10am. Directions: Route 611,
at the light at the Tannersville Inn turn onto
Cherry Lane Road.
The parking lot is 1.9
miles on your right
from Route 611.
Cost: $6/non-member, $4/EE and Nature
Conservancy
members and children under 12. Please wear
appropriate footwear
for walking in the
woods and through

decided to use the old
fair office building that
was originally built
in 1927 by Eugene
George of Aquashicola to advertise his
plumbing and heating
supplies. He later gave
this to the fair association when it was used

a West End Fair Muse-
as the office until 1970
when a new office was
erected.
The first museum
contained
antique
farm and household
items on loan from directors and friends of
the fair. Letter boxes
from the original Gil-
bert Post Office, a store
counter from Pearsol’s
Store in Kunkletown,
a blue enamel coffee pot used in the
original fair office, a
kewpie doll won by
Carl Davidson many
years ago, silverware
used in the fair’s din-
ing room, old maps
of Monroe County, an
original West End Fair
poster from 1955, an
FFA jacket from the
1950’s, a small handmade quilt embroidered with patches
representing fair exhibits were just a few
of the items on display.
Because the West End
Fair Museum was an
instant hit with fairgoers, it was decided to
make it a permanent
fixture.
The museum continued to grow through
