PRESIDENT OF BIELSKO-BIAŁA WELCOMING
Bielsko-Biała is not only a resident economic and
culture centre but it is a city with huge sports traditions.
The history of sport in Bielsko-Biała has more than
one hundred years. This period was the time of many
great successes and spectacular triumphs of players
associated with our city, it is enough to mention
achievements of great boxers- Zbigniew Pietrzykowski
and Marian Kasprzyk.
We do not base only on memories. We have ambitions to play an
important role on the sports map of Poland. Therefore, we allocate enormous
financial means for development of sports infrastructure and supporting
talented athletes in Bielsko-Biała.
It is a great satisfaction that the European Shotokan Karate-Do
Association granted the sports club in Bielsko-Biała right to organize the
European Championships in this discipline. We are pleased to host in our city
the best athletes from the whole Europe.
I am convinced that the competition in all categories will be fierce and all
karate fans gathered in the new sports arena will be spectators of many
exciting fights.
I wish all competitors the results meeting their expectations, trainers and
activists – the satisfactions from their pupils’ performance, and fans – many
sports emotions.

POLAND
POLISH KARATE FEDERATION PRESIDENT’S WELCOMING
I am very proud that the European Shotokan
Karate – Do Association has entrusted the Polish Karate
Federation with the task of organizing the ESKA
European Karate Championship of 2011. The City of
Bielsko-Biała as well as the club “KSA Atemi” have been
in charge of preparing this event, and I should like to
give my special thanks to the organizers, volunteers and
helpers who have made this possible.
Since Karate Shotokan is the most widely practiced style of karate in the
world, a large number of high class athletes will participate in these European
Championships. The Polish national team has always been very successful, and I
wish all participants the very best.
I am the most grateful to all the sponsors and donors of these
Championships for their generous support. My special thanks go to the Polish
Ministry of Sport and Tourism and to the City of Bielsko-Biała – without their
financial support, these tournaments would not have been possible.
On behalf of the Polish Karate Federation I would like to invite You for
the ESKA European Karate Championship 2011, and I am sure that we all will
enjoy unforgettable days in Bielsko-Biała.
Wacław Antoniak
The President of the Polish Karate Federation.
