Welcome to Brocon 2012!
Welcome to Brocon 2012, an Anime and Gaming Convention that has given me long sleepless
nights and many a boring meeting!
This year’s Brocon is better than ever with some fantastic guests and, for the first time at
Brocon, an AMV competition and a LAN!
I hope you will all take part in the Charity Auction on Saturday night to raise money for Youth
Suicide Prevention Ireland.
Finally, I would personally appreciate it if you could fill out the feedback form and hand it to
the front desk. With your help Brocon 2013 can be more awesome than ever.

Rules
All attendees will have agreed to these rules when registering for the convention.
1. Brocon accepts no responsibility
or liability for lost or damaged
personal belongings or for losses
due to errors or omissions on the
brocon website, booklet or other
brocon related material.
2. Authorised Brocon staff may take
photos and videos during the
event which may be used for
promotional purposes.
3. Brocon reserves the right to
revoke or refuse admission for
tournaments and attendance at
the convention at any time.
4. Identification may be required for
access certain areas of the
convention. The charity auction
and quiz take place in a bar on
campus; this is restricted to over
18’s only from 9pm.
5. Anyone under the age of 13
requires parental or guardian
consent.
6. Brocon will not refund cost of
entry for tournaments or the
convention except by extenuating
circumstances or by approval from
the Con Director.
7. Wristbands can be checked from
time to time and must be
displayed upon request by a
Brocon member of staff.
8. Attendees shall not use the data
network for any illegal activities
9. Personal data may be collected at
Brocon which can be used for
advertising future Brocon events.

Noah “Spoony” Antwiler
Spoony (or The Spoony One as he is sometimes called) is a reviewer and hardcore gamer.
Known for plenty of things such as his part in “TGWTG team brawl“, “Kickassia” & “Suburban
Knights” annual anniversary movies made for thatguywiththeglasses.com, his Highlander
reviews, Final Fantasy reviews, his Counter Monkey series, his alter ego Dr. Insano, only to
name a few, Spoony is one of the most entertaining reviewers to watch… not to mention a
bad ass roleplayer.
DestinyBlue
DestinyBlue is a full time anime artist who travels all over the UK exhibiting, teaching, and
drawing. Her artwork is often emotive, and has touched thousands of people with it’s themes
of loss, love and hope. DestinyBlue has run numerous workshops on drawing manga,
including demonstration videos for Kuretake UK Kurecolour Markers, and ‘how to draw’
classes for the BBC.

Spoony brings his roleplaying series Counter Monkey live to BroCon as he runs a pack
of complete D&D noobs through their first RPG experience! Special guests DestinyBlue,
Diamanda Hagan and Jason Callan will be rolling dice around the table, but they'll need your
help to survive the perils this adventure will hold! Come and see!
*Raffle tickets for a spot in the RPG will be on sale up until an hour before the game.

with the same rank if they cannot decide on a definite winner.
Presentation
2 types of Presentations:
Regular skit
Traditional skits in which the main
activities include characters talking to
each other and acting out a scene.

Walk-on
A quick presentation consisting of
a few poses intended to show off a
costume. Duration may be UP TO 40

Renton, son of scientists, and Eureka, a girl who can't live under the sun, are raised
together when very young and become very attached to each other. One day, Eureka is taken
away. Powerless at the time, Renton vows to rescue her. He enters the military and is soon is
assigned to the Independent Youths Unit 303 of the First Mobile Forces thanks to his
exceptional performance alongside his Nirvash, a bio-mechanical armor/control system.
Unknown to Renton, lies a plot to extinguish the alien invasion that is currently happening
involving not only him, but Eureka too.
Kimi ni Todoke

Kuronuma Sawako is completely misunderstood by her classmates. Her timid and
sweet demeanor is often mistaken for malicious behavior. This is due to her resemblance to
the ghost girl from "The Ring", which has led her peers to give her the nickname Sadako.
Longing to make friends and live a normal life, she is naturally drawn to Kazehaya Shouta, the
most popular guy in class, whose "100% refreshing" personality earns him great admiration
from Sawako. So when Kazehaya starts talking to her, maybe there is hope for the friendships
Sawako has always longed for. Maybe...there is even a little hope for some romance in her
future.
Natsume Yujin-cho Shi

Takashi Natsume has been able to see youkai, Japanese monsters, his whole life. He
inherited a book of youkai names from his grandmother, Takashi Natsume has been able to
see youkai, Japanese monsters, his whole life. He inherited a book of youkai names from his
grandmother, Reiko. These names give their owner power over the youkai, so he and his selfproclaimed bodyguard "Nyanko-sensei" spend their days returning them to their original
owners. As Natsume finally finds a place where he feels welcome, he meets and says goodbye
to new Youkai....
My Neighbour Totoro

Follow the adventures of Satsuki and her four-year-old sister Mei when they move
into a new home in the countryside. To their delight they discover that their new neighbor is
a mysterious forest spirit called Totoro who can be seen only through the eyes of a child.
Totoro introduces them to extraordinary characters, including a cat that doubles as a bus,
takes them on a journey through the wonders of nature.

Tohru Honda is 16 year old orphaned girl who gets invited to live in the house of her
classmate, the handsome boy Sohma Yuki, and his cousins, 16 year old Kyo and 27 year old
Shigure. However, these young men and parts of the rest of their family (both close and
distant) hold a curse; if they are hugged by the opposite gender, they transform into animals
of the Chinese Zodiac. Everyday is an adventure for sweet Tohru, as she gets to know
everyone in the large family better (especially Yuki and Kyo), in both common and bizarre
situations. But, the Sohma Family curse is certainly no laughing matter... it also holds horrible
cruelty and heartbreak.
Sengoku Collection

Sengoku Collection revolves around many samurai who are accidentally removed
from a parallel universe inhabited by well-known historic characters. Unlike the historical war
period known to us, all inhabitants in this unique world look like high school girls. Coming
from the medieval era and finding themselves totally amazed by everything they encounter in
modern day Tokyo, the girls become best friends through their adventures.
Kaze no Yojimbo

In search for Araki Genzo, George Kodama finds himself in the small town of
Kimujuku. George quickly realizes that he is unwelcome and is warned to leave as soon as
possible. With two rival syndicates roaming the streets and a dark violent past, the town of
Kimujuku isn't what it appears to be. George challenges the town of Kimujuku in order to
reveal the towns dark hidden past and discover the truth.
Grave of the Fireflies

In the aftermath of a World War II bombing, two orphaned children struggle to
survive in the Japanese countryside. To Seita and his four year old sister, the helplessness and
indifference of their countrymen is even more painful than the enemy raids. Through
desperation, hunger and grief, these children's lives are as heartbreakingly fragile as their
spirit and love is inspiring.

Junpei Kousaka is a second-year high school student who despises cats and has an
allergy to them. It just so happens that his high school crush is Kaede Mizuno, a girl who
adores cats. One day, while walking home from school, Junpei kicks an empty can and
unfortunately beans the local neko-jizou-sama (guardian deity of cats). He finds he can now
understand what cats are saying, including his family's own ill-tempered cat, Nyamusas.
However, if he does not grant 100 wishes from cats, he will turn into a cat himself.

Ryuugamine Mikado has always longed for the excitement of the city life, and an
invitation from a childhood friend convinces him to move to Tokyo. Witnessing the Black
Rider on his first day in the city, his wishes already seem to have been granted. But as
supernatural events begin to occur, ordinary citizens like himself, along with Ikebukuro's most
colorful inhabitants, are mixed up in the commotion breaking out in their city.
The Cat Returns

The main character of the story, Haru, is a clueless, ordinary 17-year-old girl. She has
no special abilities and neither is she an extraordinary beauty. When faced with reality, she is
unable to make decisions for herself, thus often sways to others' opinions to avoid challenge.
One day, Haru saves the life of a cat without considering her own safety. The cat turns out to
be the Cat Prince from the Kingdom of Cats, however as a result, Haru is trapped in the world
of cats. Can Baron and Muta rescue Haru who has wandered into the world of cats?
Dusk Maiden of Amnesia

60 years ago, a young woman was left to die in the abandoned school building behind
the exclusive Seikyou Academy. No one knows why. No one knows how. But the horrifying
tale and the legends of the ghostly haunting that followed live on to this day. Perhaps it's not
so surprising then, that among Seikyou's many school clubs is one for students interested in
"paranormal investigations." What might raise more than a few hairs, however, is that the
founder of the club is the ghost herself. Unable to remember how she died and trapped in
the grey land between life and death, Yuuko latches onto Teiichi Niiya, a freshman who can
inexplicably see her, and together they and the other unsuspecting members of the club
begin to unravel the many dark mysteries that surround Seikyou. Will unlocking the secret of
Yuuko's gruesome death finally free her? Or will her sudden close association with a mortal
have even stranger repercussions on both of their existences?

Utena Tenjou arrives at Ohtori Academy, only to be immediately swept up in a series of duels
for the hand of her classmate Anthy Himemiya and the power she supposedly holds. At the
same time, Utena reunites with Touga Kiryuu, a friend from her childhood who seems to
know the secrets behind the duels. Utena must discover those secrets for herself, before the
power that rules Ohtori claims her and her friends, new and old.

Once again, we will have two large rooms filled with more consoles and games than
ever before. There will be dozens of games from all eras to play through the weekend and if
you’re up for a little competition, we will have no less than eleven events at BroCon in which
to race, outwit and clobber both your friends and strangers alike, and win stuff for it.
Looking to flex some forgotten gaming muscles? Be sure to sign up for our first Iron Man of
Classic Gaming. Play off against other classically trained gamers in a retro gems medley from
the Sega MegaDrive, Super Nintendo, N64, Arcade, Playstation and others, build your points,
climb the leaderboard and gain some bragging rights as a champion of games that shaped the
industry as we know it.

some pointless dirtball that our enemies
want for no apparent reason. So we’ll
fight, and we’ll fight, and we’ll merrily
soldier on in the face of bitter and deadly
opposition. Because we’re Longcoats, and
we’re the best. Although, some warning
about the giant mechs would have been
nice.

day after St. Patricks Day and a nation is
hungover. Five hungover citizens traveling
on the Dublin to Cork train are unaware of
the calamity that is about to befall them.
For they are about to become entangled in
one of the most serious zombie plague
crisis to hit our fair isle. Will they escape
the zombie hoards? Will they have their
brains eaten? Will they discover the
source of the plague and save the day? Or
will they say “screw this!” and start
looting? Only the dice will decide.

town of Blackrock. Founded in the forties
by the burgeoning Caiden Crayne
Industrial, the town of blackrock has been
abandoned since the early sixties, rumour
abounds as to why the town lies vacant,
and why CCO (Formerly CCI) has not
attempted to reclaim the town, which is
where you and your 5 friends come in.
News spread across faerun, and the date
was set. adventurers
flocked to The ‘Iron
Ingot’, in preparation. And only three rules
have
been in-acted.

Throughout the weekend we will be running both a Warhammer 40,000 tournament and a
Warhammer tournament for all you war gaming fans. So whether you are sending in your
army of Skaven to fight off the Dark Elves or a commander of the Eldar forces trying to crush
the Space Marine forces we will have a tournament for you.
