Heaters transmit radiant comfort without heating intervening air. Floors,
walls and machinery are warmed and, in turn, re-radiate heat. Fuel costs are
minimized as Enerco infra-red combines radiation, convection and conduction

The DR Series is a high intensity unvented heater.
Typical applications include aircraft hangers,
warehouses, and high ceiling industrial buildings.
The DR Series is commonly used in areas with high
air infiltration, high ceilings, and/or spot heating
applications. These are very economical heaters. The
DR Series is available in a multitude of configurations,
ranging from 30,000 to 160,000 Btu with 9 different
control options.

For applications requiring a low profile unit, Modine offers the Hot Dawg® unit heater. The Hot Dawg®
may be installed in residential or commercial applications just one inch below the ceiling. The
superior quality matched with the following features makes the Hot Dawg® unit heater an easy
choice for a variety of applications:

The PDP (propeller) power vented gas-fired unit heater is a product that is inexpensive to install,
easy to use, and offers excellent in-service economy. The PDP model series expands on the
size range of the HD model series providing product that is certified for commercial and industrial
applications in sizes from 150 through 400MBH.

The separated combustion models HDS/HDC and PTS/BTS draw 100% of their combustion
air from outside to ensure that the unit will always have plenty of fresh, clean air to breathe.
This fresh-air supply reduces common concerns about maintenance, performance, and
durability in dusty, dirty, or humid applications. In addition, by drawing the combustion
air from the outside, the overall heating efficiency is increased. In short, the separated
combustion units give you the added advantages of:

At 93% thermal efficiency for all model sizes, Modine’s Effinity93® condensing unit heater
features the highest efficiency available in North America for commercial and industrial,
as well as residentially certified (sizes 110 and smaller) gas-fired unit heaters. This industry
leading efficiency is a result of the coupling of our Conservicore® secondary heat exchanger
technology with our robust tubular primary heat exchanger design. The Conservicore®
technology features a secondary recuperative heat exchanger fabricated from AL29-4C®
stainless steel. This material is superior to other lower grades of stainless steel and
aluminum, resulting in outstanding ability to withstand the corrosive environment of
condensing gas fired equipment.
Available in ten model sizes with input ranges from 55,000 to 310,000 Btu/Hr, Modine
offers application flexibility unmatched in the industry. The separated combustion units
draw combustion air from outside to ensure that the unit will always have plenty of fresh,
clean air for combustion while increasing the overall heating efficiency. Venting material to
be used is PVC, an extremely cost effective vent system.

Modine Gas-Fired Blower Models
Blower unit heaters are designed for both heating and ventilating. All Modine gas-fired unit
heater types can be equipped with blowers, including our Hot Dawg® low-profile residential
garage heaters and the Effinity93®. In fact, the Effinity93® is the only high efficiency gas-fired
unit heater in North America with this option available.
These units can be used in a variety of ways:
• Ducting air in from adjacent spaces for ventilation.
• Protecting units from corrosive spaces by mounting them remotely and ducting in warm air.
• Where quietness is important, blower fans are lower-noise and can be ducted, unlike
propeller units.
• Deflector hoods can be used in areas with higher mounting heights.

Bergquist BTU Calculator
The following formula is used to determine the BTUs
needed to heat a building. This calculation would be for an average
uninsulated building. Add more BTU's if the building will have a great deal of
heat loss from open windows and doors. Reduce the BTU's if the building
is well insulated and weathertight.
Cubic feet to be heated* X .133 X desired temperature rise** = BTU's/hour
* Cubic feet to be heated... Multiply the length times
the width times the height of the area to be heated.
**Desired temperature rise... Subtract the lowest
expected ouside temperature from the desired
inside temperature.
EXAMPLE:
A concrete block building 50 feet wide by 200 feet long with 20 feet
from floor to ceiling. All window and door openings are temporarily
covered with plastic. The outside temperature is 15° and we want
the inside temperature to be 55°.
Cubic feet = 50 x 200 x 20 = 200,000 cubic feet
Temperature rise = 55°–15° = 40°
BTU's needed: 200,000 x .133 x 40 = 1,064,000 BTU's per hour
Bergquist heaters needed: We recommend four 250,000 BTU
convection heaters or three 375,000 BTU forced air heaters to heat
this job.

Claims for shortages must be made within 48 hours after receipt of shipment. Broken or damaged
packages must be inspected immediately for damaged goods prior to signing for delivery. Claims
of damaged goods should be filed with the delivering carrier. Bergquist is not responsible for
products damaged in transit
RETURNS
Bergquist has a no-squabble return policy. We will credit the purchase
price for any unused standard stock merchandise. We ask that the
merchandise be returned within 30 days, unused, in the original packaging
for a prompt exchange or credit. To assure proper credit please call for a Return Goods
Authorization Number prior to returning any equipment. All returns are subject to inspection.
WARRANTY
All products purchased from Bergquist, Inc. are subject to the manufacturers’ warranty policy. In
no case do we assume or admit any liability for labor,
damage, leakage of other claims arising from defective goods.
TAXES
No sales or use taxes are included in our prices. Any liability for such taxes is the responsibility of
the buyer.
PRICES
Prices are subject to change without notice. Shipments will be invoiced at the price in effect at the
time of shipment.
CAUTION
Do not use any product in the catalog for any service other than LP Gas or Natural Gas. If you
have a need for use in a different application please call Bergquist.
WARNING
Installation, usage and maintenance of all products sold by Bergquist
must be done in compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions and
applicable federal, state and local standards, codes, regulations and laws.
Installation and maintenance should be done by qualified personnel.
The products contained in this catalog are mechanical devices that will
eventually become inoperative due to wear, corrosion and other
environmental conditions. Periodic maintenance and inspection are required to avoid serious injury
and property damage.
Some of the products sold by Bergquist are manufactured to store, transport, transfer and use
flammable liquids and gases. These products and the
material they handle must by handled by experienced and trained personnel. These personnel
should use accepted industry and governmental
safety procedures.
