Mr. Rodriguez’s practice of design and construction was conceived after 32 years of
accumulative experience and expertise locally and abroad.
It was year 1984 when he started to practice the art of design and construction. He joined
A,G. Canare &Associates commissioned by the government to undertake projects under
USAID Grants.Year 1987,When he worked in New Zealand that lasted for ten years, where
design practice and philosophy were formed.
He worked with the two known Architecture-Engineering firms, with project involvement in
design of Hospitals, Airport, Shopping Centers and University projects under Stephenson &
Turner Architects, and Electro-Mech Service Engineers. This firm gave him additional
dimension in services engineering principles.
The second firm, Booth, Sweetman & Wolfe Consulting Architects and Structural Engineers,
added a lot of challenges being the Senior Designer of Hospitals and Tourism Structures,
Factories and Commercial Kitchen Fit-outs. This firm aside from structural engineering
principle gave him the opportunity to handle projects and staff management. Winning a
design competition under this firm gave him the most fulfilling and rewarding experience.
Came 1997, when he decided to pursue his professional practice in the Philippines. A
difficult decision but eventually gratifying one because of his finished and on-going
projects.
He was commissioned to design a Convention Center & Casino in Subic Bay Freeport Zone
by the end of year 1997. The next year, middle of 1998, he was employed by Taisei
Philippine Construction Inc / TAS Plan Inc. as Senior Architect. As a Japanese firm, their
clients are mainly Japanese investors that require factory and those of similar design
facilities. They were engaged with local projects as well like the Manila Hotel and Manila
Bulletin Plant expansion and High-rise Condominium.
Year 2001 when he decided to fully concentrate on his own practice.
He started 2007 with LVLP on technical design and documentation of selected projects.
Primitivo L. Rodriguez Jr. Architecture experience in the design & documentation of various
building types enables him to deliver products of distinctive & quality designs within the
schedule and corresponding budget constraints. His expertise ranges through Health,
Entertainment Facilities, Hospitals, Institutional, Industrial, Hotel & Condominium Complexes.
He also engages in specialized design services such as Interior Design & Commercial
Kitchen Design. The services include the selection, design & documentation of furniture &
kitchen equipments, fittings, colors, etc. These specialized services are beneficial to any
prospective projects that require incorporation of the said trades like Hospital, Hotel,
Casino & Airport.
He had involvement with projects overseas also. A schematic phase design of the
proposed Capitol Building of Marianas Island to house various Government and Cultural
Facilities. To document an International Convention Center at Ras Al Kaimah, UAE,
negotiation with an Italian firm to outsource projects in Estonia & Philippines and To assist in
the rehabilitation of various housing programs in Sri Lanka via grant from China.
