empowerment, and providing safe spaces for a full
exploration of the Self. We seek established networks,
organizations, corporations, and community groups that are
safe spaces and empowerment houses for the LGBTQIA
and HIV+ communities in our quest to empower, develop,
and enhance partnership, collaboration, and growth.

Town Hall Meeting: Inter-generational LGBT
Healthcare and Housing in Pittsburgh
Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church, 416 West
North Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA
6:00-8:00pm
Liza Langer (http://langerthesis.wordpress.com/), CMU
Thesis Statement:
This thesis encompasses a community center with a
health care and low income housing components to
facilitate displaced youth (< 25 years) and low income
seniors (65+ years ) for especially but not limited to the
lesbian gay bisexual transgender (LGBT) community.
The goal of such a facility would be to consolidate the
resources for LGBT specific healthcare including but
not limited to HIV/AIDS specific care, STD testing and
prevention, suicide prevention, therapy, addiction
therapy and treatment, alternative therapy (including
horticulture, art and meditation), non-discriminatory
gynecology, physician care, health care education, and
fitness.
The community center also acts as a means of
encouraging an inter-generational community to
encourage families of choice for those who need
families most.
