The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. To exhibit in this class, family members must be a breeder and owner of record. • • NON‐REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES Veterans Classes – Class for dogs and class for bitches 7 years and over. Veterans Note: 1st place winners of Veteran Dog & Veteran Bitch classes are eligible to com‐ pete for Best of Breed if undefeated in any other classes at this show. Neutered Dogs and Spayed Bitches may be entered. Entry fee $24.00 as first entry and $24.00 as an additional entry. Awards of Merit The Judge may, at his discretion, recall into the ring up to four dogs/bitches to receive Judge’s Select Rosettes. 6 Giant Schnauzer Club of America, September 23-28, 2008 NON‐REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES Stud Dog Class – Class for Stud Dogs and no less than two and no more than four of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. Owner of Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the Get. Entry only to be judged based on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the place‐ ment of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy or the Standard for its breed. Get MUST be entered in one of the Regular Classes or Best of Breed Competition. Entry fee is $35.00 if the Stud Dog is not entered in another class, or $30.00 as an additional class. Notation must be made on entry form. Brood Bitch Class – Same as for Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. As the judge’s decision in the Stud Dog and Brood Bitch Classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches judged first in the class will be eligible for Best of Breed or Variety by virtue of having won this class. Brace Class (two dogs of the same breed and must have at least one common owner and pre‐ sented by a maximum of two handlers.) – Will require a fee of $35.00 for the Brace Class as a first entry (Unit) and $30.00 as an additional entry (Unit). The dogs comprising a Brace MUST be named at time of entry. If a dog, which is part of a Brace, is not entered in another class, it must be entered for “Brace Class Only”. In making entries for “Brace Class Only”, full particulars must be given for each dog on individual regular entry forms. An entry form for a dog entered in an‐ other class and entered as part of a Brace MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for Additional Classes, “Brace Class”. If more than one Brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs comprising EACH Brace must be so designated, “Brace No. 1”, “Brace No. 2”, etc. PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES ‐ Midwest Regional 1, Midwest Regional 2, & National The Sweepstakes is open to all Giant Schnauzers who are 6 months and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. All Giant Schnauzers entered in Sweepstakes must be entered in a Regular Class at the regular entry class fee. Indicate “Sweepstakes” and age division on the regular entry form, under Additional Classes. AKC champions of record are not eligible to compete. Entries must be exhibited by the owner, a member of the owner’s immediate household, the Breeder of the Stud Dog owner. No one may exhibit in this class unless they satisfy the foregoing re‐ quirement. Please note: the above rule is applicable for any dog returning to the ring for Best of Sweeps. The classes will be divided by Age and Sex, and winners will compete for Best in Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Sweepstakes.
