beque in the Indiana community since 2003. Current owner, Ray SchaScha
mus, has been running the business for the past 5 years. Ray has been in
the food business for 38 years always with the dream of owning his own
restaurant. The opportunity arose in 2008 when Ray purchased Pennsylvania Barbeque.
Pennsylvania Barbeque offers great authentic barbeque that will have your
mouth watering. Their specialty item is pulled pork sandwiches. Ray and
another employee come into the restaurant 7:30 a.m. each day to freshly pull the pork for that day’s customers. In addition they offer hickory
smoked baby back ribs, chicken and beef brisket. “All the meat is smoked
on site” says Ray. “The hickory wood that I use for smoking comes from my
father-in-law’s back yard”. All the rubs are original recipes as well as a secret
sauce made for the pulled pork sandwiches. They also have salads, burgers,
fish sandwiches, wings and homemade slaw that also is a secret recipe.
Ray caters to his customers. He provides drop off catering and business
delivery during lunch hours. “We take pride in making everything ourselves” says Ray. “I believe the taste of the food is why the customers come
back. The food is made by the same Pennsylvania Barbeque family everyday
and that means the food always is done right and the taste is consistent”.
Pennsylvania Barbeque is open year round so the community has barbeque
at their finger tips-- no matter the time of year.
In the future, Ray would like to purchase a location that is closer to
downtown Indiana so he may be even more convenient to the community.
He will continue to offer good quality barbeque the way it’s supposed to
be--- smoked on site. If you are in the mood for delicious barbeque that

Nearly as much energy goes into wrapping gifts as purchasing them. Some people
excel at wrapping gifts, while others do not enjoy the task at all. Part of the trouble with
gift-wrapping is the room and tools needed to wrap all of those holiday treasures. But a
gift-wrap station in a corner of the home that is seldom used can make wrapping presents
any time of the year easier and more enjoyable.
* Find a place to store gift wrap and the tools needed to wrap gifts. Many
people find the back of a closet door works perfectly.
* Install wire hanger racks so the gift wrap tubes can be stored vertically along
the surface of the door.
* Install a folding shelf on a hinge, and use that shelf to do your wrapping. Fold the shelf up
when it is not needed and secure it with a latch at the top.
* Hang hooks to store tape and scissors. Attach the scissors to the hook with a string
so they won’t go missing.
* A basket tucked nearby can house bows and ribbons so that they are easily stored
until needed.

There’s a lot of psychology that goes into saving. That’s why one way to encourage yourself to save
is to put away the plastic and pay in cash. Handing over currency when you buy something gives
you a clear sense that you’re spending “real” money. Credit or debit cards are so easy to use, they
tend to make you forget you’re spending your hard-earned dollars.
When you make that cash purchase, get in the habit of putting the change aside and depositing
it into a savings fund. You’ll be putting aside a small portion of everything you spend, and those
dollars and coins will add up. Do the same thing with your checking account: Round up each
amount to the next dollar when you enter it in your checking record. You’ll accumulate extra
funds in your account, which you can later move into your savings.
Paying cash can also help you to stick to a budget. Divide up your weekly spending and put the
portions into a series of envelopes for various expenses. One envelope might be for dining out,
another for entertainment, a third for gasoline. If you run out of cash before the week is over,
you’ll have to cut back. You might need to eat dinner at home, opt for a video instead of a movie,
or take the bus while you wait for the next week to roll around.

teenage drivers. But it’s not
a problem only reserved for
youngsters. People of all ages
admit to texting while behind
the wheel of a car. According
to a Harvard Center for Risk
Analysis study, texting in cars
and trucks causes more than
3,000 deaths and 330,000 injuries per year.
To illustrate just how dangerous texting while driving
can be in relation to driving
while intoxicated, Car and
Driver Magazine performed
an experiment. During the
while every 90 seconds someone
is injured because of a drunk
driver. Though driving under the
influence poses a threat to everyone on the road, drunk driving is
no longer the biggest risk behind
the wheel. Distracted driving is
a growing problem, one spurred
on by the increase of technological gadgets that take drivers’ attention away from the road.
The National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration says driving a vehicle while texting is six
times more dangerous than driving while intoxicated. The agency
reports that texting while driving
has now replaced drinking while

red light to alert drivers when

how long it would take to hit
the brakes when sober, when
legally impaired at a BAC
level of .08, when reading
an e-mail, and when sending
a text. The results were surprising. Sober, focused drivers took an average of 0.54
seconds to brake. Legally
drunk drivers required four
additional feet to stop. An
additional 36 feet was necessary when reading an e-mail
and an additional 70 feet was
needed when sending a text.
Drivers who text also are

more likely to drift in and out of
lanes. A study by the Transport
Research Laboratory in London
found that reaction times for
texting drivers were 35 percent
worse than those for drivers with
no distractions.
Although the proportion of
alcohol-related traffic crashes has
dropped considerably in recent
years, the number of accidents
and fatalities attributed to causes
other than impaired driving have
increased. A survey by Nationwide Insurance found that 80
percent of drivers support some
type of mobile phone or texting
use restrictions while driving.

Foods that Help Fight Fatigue
