On this day, all the Gopas and Gopikas worshipped Sri Govardhan as it is the manifestation of Lord Krishna himself. During this festival, a mountain of food is decorated symbolizing Sri Govardhan mountain which was lifted by Lord Sri Krishna to save the people from the wrath of Indra, the Demigod in charge of rain. After seven days of pouring rains, Indra came along with the celestial Cow, Kamadhenu and did Coronation to Lord Sri Krishna and it is known as Sri Govinda Pattabhishekam. At Sri RanganAtha Temple, we are celebrating Anna Koota Uthsava for the Seventh year and we invite everyone to come and participate with your friends and family.
