A LITTLE LIFE
Hanya Yanagihara
‘A Little Life is unlike anything else out there . . . Quite simply
unforgettable’ Independent on Sunday
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara is an immensely powerful
and heartbreaking novel of brotherly love and the limits of
human endurance. When four graduates from a small
Massachusetts college move to New York to make their way,
they're broke, adrift, and buoyed only by their friendship and
ambition. There is kind, handsome Willem, an aspiring actor;
JB, a quick-witted, sometimes cruel Brooklyn-born painter
seeking entry to the art world; Malcolm, a frustrated
architect at a prominent firm; and withdrawn, brilliant,
enigmatic Jude, who serves as their centre of gravity.
Over the decades, their relationships deepen and darken,
tinged by addiction, success, and pride. Yet their greatest
challenge, each comes to realize, is Jude himself, by midlife a
terrifyingly talented litigator yet an increasingly broken man,
his mind and body scarred by an unspeakable childhood, and
haunted by what he fears is a degree of trauma that he'll not
only be unable to overcome - but that will define his life
forever.

bestselling series
Jay Bonansinga
From the ashes of a devastated Woodbury,
Georgia, come two opposing camps of ragtag
survivors. Underground, in the labyrinth of ancient
tunnels and mine shafts, Lilly Caul and her motley
crew of senior citizens, misfits, and children
struggle to build a new life. But a secret ambition
still burns inside her: she wants her beloved town
of Woodbury back from the plague of walkers, and
now the only thing that stands in her way currently
roams the wasted backwaters of Georgia.
Way out in the hinterlands, amidst the rising tide of
walkers pushing in from all directions, the psychotic
Reverend Jeremiah Garlitz rebuilds his army of
followers with a diabolical secret weapon.
Intending to destroy Lilly and her crew - the very
people who vanquished his cultish church - he now
has the means to bring a special brand of hell down
upon the tunnel dwellers.
The final confrontation between these two human
factions unleashes an unthinkable weapon - forged
from the monstrous hordes of undead, perfected

Marisa Reichardt
A stunning novel from debut author Marisa
Reichardt.
In order to move on after a traumatic experience,
Morgan must learn to forgive - first someone who
did something that might be unforgivable, and then
herself. But Morgan can't move on. She can't even
move beyond the front door of the apartment she
shares with her mother and little brother. Morgan
feels like she's underwater, unable to surface.
Unable to see her friends. Unable to go to school.
When it seems Morgan can't hold her breath any
longer, a new boy moves in next door. Evan
reminds her of the salty ocean air and the rush she
used to get from swimming. He might be just what

Think Bigger, Work Smarter and Transform Your
Working Life
Powerful advice for achieving
a better work life and a
lifetime of good days.
Caroline Webb
All around the world, people could be having better days.
Constraints at work can make us feel disengaged and
dissatisfied, and as we spend more time in the office than
we do with our families that feeling can follow us home.
But here's the wonderful news: powerful advances in
cognitive science have shown us how we have far more
control over the quality of our day-to-day lives than we
realize. How To Have A Good Day translates behavioural
economics, neuroscience and psychology into practical
advice to help you make every day - at work and at home a good day.
With fascinating case studies and easy-to-implement daily
strategies for effectiveness, happiness and productivity,
Caroline Webb shows how we can all have more control

HOW TO CHOOSE A PARTNER

An insightful guide to
choosing the right partner
SUSAN QUILLIAM
Choosing a romantic partner is one of
contemporary life's biggest adventures. But other
aspects of modern living - being globally more
mobile, a fall in religious belief, social
liberalization and more job opportunities (but
longer working hours) - mean meeting a mate has
rarely been so challenging, and rarely so
important.
In How to Choose a Partner, Susan Quilliam
guides us through the process of finding the right
partner for us as individuals. The real challenge is
that we grow. Drawing upon rich cultural
material, psychology and her background in
relationship therapy, Susan presents partner
choice as a self development journey, driving us
to learn more about ourselves, about other
people, about life and the way we want to live.

A brilliant re-examination of
the Holocaust from one of
the world’s leading
historians
FINAL SOLUTION
The Fate of the Jews 1933-49
David Cesarani
The Holocaust has never been so widely commemorated,
but our understanding of the accepted narrative has
rarely, if ever, been questioned. David Cesarani's sweeping
reappraisal challenges accepted explanations for the antiJewish politics of Nazi Germany and the inevitability of the
'Final Solution'. The persecution of the Jews was not
always the Nazis' central preoccupation, nor was it an
inevitable process. Cesarani also reveals that in Germanoccupied countries it unfolded erratically, often due to
local initiatives. Ghettos were improvised while the mass
shooting of Jews during the invasion of Russia owed as
much to the security situation as to anti-semitism.
In this new interpretation, war is critical to the Jewish fate.
Military failure denied the Germans opportunities to expel
Jews into a distant territory and created a crisis of
resources that led to starvation of the ghettos and
intensified anti-Jewish measures. It was global war that
eventually triggered genocide in Europe. Cesarani disputes
the iconic role of railways, deportation trains and even
Auschwitz, and reveals that plunder was more a cause of
anti-Jewish feeling than a consequence of it.
This moving and dramatic account captures the fate of
the Jews, the horror and the heroism, in their own words.
Resting on decades of scholarship, it is compelling,
authoritative, and profoundly disturbing.
