30 years Humbaur
The milestones
1984
1957
Anton Humbaur founded a distribution
for agricultural machines in Donauwörth.
Among other things the product range
included trailers, ploughs and grain mills.
1980/81
In 1984 the company started with
their own production of passenger
car trailers.
30 years H
In 1980 the company moved into a new built
warehouse with office building in Gersthofen.
In the following year the first passenger car trailers
have been sold. Humbaur was importing them from
Italy and adjusted them for the Germanmarket.
1998
Start of the horse trailer production.
1985
1978/79
Anton Humbaur decided to add
new products to the sales program.

In 1982 Ulrich Humbaur, the present CEO,
joined the company.
Since 1985 company name as
Humbaur GmbH. From 1989
Humbaur was enlarging the
trailer production for private and

A success story
Everything began with a distribution of agricultural machines. But trading has not been enough
for Anton Humbaur. 1984/1985 the innovative entrepreneur started the production of
passenger car trailers for the private and commercial use. His credo was: To orient developments
directly on the demands of his customers. This strategy worked.
From the agricultural machinery business to
one of the leading trailer manufacturers in Europe
Therefore in 1980 a modern production plant has been founded. The Humbaur passenger car trailers
became a sales success and the production plant was enlarged permanently. With the production of
horse trailers in 1998 the company hit the mark. Until today they are one of the highlights in the
Humbaur trailer family.
Since 2001 the spacious new company area at the Mercedesring 1 in Gersthofen meets
all requirements of production plant for the future.

The focus is on the future, because the success of the company is also an obligation and
motivation the same time. Our credo goes on. The demands of our customers to the

It is our aim to optimize the varied product range. Every customer has to get the best product

Quality – made in Germany
More than 420 serial models from 750 kg up to 40 ton allowable gross weight – the product range
demand strictest requirements in our employers in the technical department, production and sales.
Because best quality »made in Germany« is our entitlement.
Experts create quality
The processing of different materials has to be mastered perfectly. So by the interaction of the
different production sectors passenger car trailers made by aluminium, three-way tippers made by
steel or aluminium, horse trailers with wood-, aluminium- and polyester assembly or box trailers
made by sandwich panels occur.
Around 1,000 trailers are leaving our factory in Gersthofen every week. That makes around
50,000 units per year. This only experts can do, who dispose of best know-how and
work highly motivated.
Today 450 employers are working at the site in Gersthofen and
30 colleagues in Niedercunnersdorf. In 1985 it has been
only 10 employers.
