Willys combat wheels, dodge carburetors, front end parts and radiators.
All back order on pistol holsters have been filled. 750 one pound cans
of radiator cleaner was ordered this date for the Division.

Automotive shop: Received seven vehicles, finished five. Deadline
two. One evacuation. Automotive contacts: 219th FA service Btry seven
vehicles inspected.
Artillery and instrument repair contacts: 161st FA, A Btry replaced
one shield bracket. B Btry no repair. 219th FA A Btry no repair. B Btry
one sight mount and one telescope panoramic repaired. 127th FA A B & C
Btry, no repair. A check was made on rounds fired in guns of the above
field artillery. Organizational repair: repaired four 20 MM cannon and
test fired them. These captured weapons are to be used by the Inf. Regt.s
of this Division.

ton and three ton trailers. At present five twelve volt coils are
needed. Front and rear shock absorbers for willys are becoming critical.
With cold weather approaching the demand for water pumps is increasing.
29 sets of auto-lite points and 14 rear brake hoses were received and issued.

Supply section: Ordnance major items issued: seven trucks 4 ton,
one truck 3/4 ton and one gun 57 MM M-1. Thirty eight rifles Ca1.30 M-1
and twenty german rifles turned in to the collection point. Critical items:
exhaust manifold gaskets for GMC, clutch return springs, steering gears and
Dodge radiators. 275 feet of radiator hose was ordered for the Division
in anticipation of cold weather. Eight 600 X 16 tubes and six 4 ton
batteries were issued this date.
8 Oct 1944
Automotive shop: Received four vehicles, finished eight, Deadline
one. Two evacuations. Inspection and repair team: 137th. Inf. thirty
nine vehicles inspected and repaired. A special contact team consisting
of most of the automotive section is checking all vehicles of the 137th
Inf. and making the necessary repairs as far as the availability of parts
will permit. The 47th Ord. Co. also has a team on this contact.
Artillery and instrument repair contacts: 137th Inf. 2n1 Bn, one sight
M-4 and one pair binoculars M-3 repaired. 137th Inf. Cn Co. six 105 MM
Howit,ers M-3 inspected. Three range quadrants, one telescope panoramic
and one elbow telescope adjusted. 137th AT Co. Nine 57 MM Guns M-1 inspected
One lever operating straightened. Organizational repair: 35th Recon, one
Bino M-3 repaired. One 20 MM cannon (german) repaired and test fired. One
57 MM gun M-1 evacuated to 47th Ord. Co. for repair. All artillery pieces
and instruments of the 137th Inf. are being inspected by this section. in
accordance with the plan to inspect and repair all Ord. equipment of that
Regiment.

Supply Section: Items returned to the collection point: forty three
rifles Ca1.30 M-1, one 50 Cal MG and one tube for 81 MM Mortar. k ton
windshields are becoming critical again. There is twelve on back order.
Six gallon of oil recoil, and four bales of rags were received that was
urgently needed. Two supply teams were furhished to the 137th Inf. Regt
to expidite the flow of spare parts in connection with the technical
inspection that is now being held.

noted. All requisitions for oil and gun patches have been filled.

motorcycles and three mounts MG M1917A1. Returned to collection point:
Seventy two rifles ca/.30 M-1. Carbines cal.30 M-1 are again becoming
critical. One hundred are on back order this date. One 3/4 ton C&R
turned in to depot. Also received on to be turned in as excess due to
the change in TO&E in some units. One launcher rocket was recovered.
Dodge carburetors are still very critical. All back order on oil recoil
heavy, oil recoil special and grease OD #0 have been filled. Tires of
all sizes are still very critical.
Staff Sgt. Orville W. Johnson ASN 39676869 was awarded the Brop
Star Medal for meritorious service this date.

lunette lock. Cn Co. 137th Inf. exchanged one tube on 105 MM Howitzer M-3.
and installed one recoil slide shield. Organizational repair: 137th Inf.
3-4, one 60 MM Mortar repaired.

ton trucks and one 1 ton truck received from 320th Inf. as excess and
turned in to collection point. Critical items received. 79 pistol holster.
Lt. Grady E. Jackson and Lt. Jack C. Deamer received the bronze star
medal for meritorious service this date.
