Our plants are projected to satisfy every demand, with a high level of flexibility that makes every plant a unique plant. Our plants assure a notable increase in productivity and reliability over time, and also the utmost profile care during the different production phases and treatments. Our technical offices are always seeking new solutions, to make plants with higher flexibility. Wrapping lines The automatic wrapping lines are designed to operate at speeds of up to 45 meters per minute and to wrap sub-bundles up to 400 mm in width. Our machines can wrap using stretch film, nylon or paper and uses two rolls with a maximum outer diameter of 350 mm and a 120 mm width. Sub-bundles are accelerated and decelerated through the machine using a combination of pinch rollers on the infeed and outfeed sides of the machine which are controlled by inverters and encoders. The taping unit works “on the fly” as the profiles pass through. It tapes several spirals (binding coils) to the front and back end of each bundle to prevent the wrapping material from unravelling. It is programmed to tape the profiles according to the speed of the wrapping machine lying before it. The line can be fitted with bundling unit, automatic bundle stacker this machine is continuously fed by the sub-bundles coming from the wrapping machine; it superimposes them layer on layer producing in this way a bundle of the size chosen by the operator on the main control panel. Adhesive tape application line The adhesive application line can operate at a maximum speed of up to 70 meters per minute – fast enough to handle ten 7 meter long profiles every minute – or over 700 profiles per hour. The maximum width of the protective film which has been used so far is 400 mm. On request the machine can be fitted with a 4 roll revolver arrangement on the top and bottom which allows a quick changeover from one roll to another or allows different roll widths to be used according to the profile width. These machines are designed to operate continuously and the protective tape between one profile and the next is cut automatically on the fly. The newly designed blade unit ensures a clean cut with the elimination of any overhanging tape. 9 Automatic in-line Bagging machine Machine designed to automatically wrap profiles and seal the polythene wrap using electrically heated welding heads positioned every 300 mm. The machine is designed to wrap the profiles individually using minimum amount of wrapping material by automatically reading the width and height of each profile and adjusting the amount of polythene required to wrap the profile to a minimum, thus also reducing the overall volume of the main bundle to be packed. Adjustable wrapping profile length: from min. 2000 mm to max. 8000 mm Wrapping cycle time: one profile every 8 seconds (approx. 7 profiles per minute) Manual packing station The packing trolleys are really important and indispensable for the manual formation of the bundles, in fact they are used by the operators destined to the manual packing of the profiles into boxes, with inserting, etc. The arms are adjustable according to the length of the bundle that needs to be made up. One of the two arms can be pneumatically tilted to allow the loading in automatic of the bundle on the roller conveyor; the packing platform can be lifted to grant a more ergonomic position for the operators. The station can be equipped with a paper or cardboard dispenser. Boxing lines Profile Automation supplies packing lines which are indispensable for assisting operators with the preparation when packing profiles into pre-creased cardboard boxes. The machines supplied in these lines make the task of the operators much easier and quicker in the formation of prepared bundles and packing into boxes. 10 Master bundle packing lines The line can be equipped with a strapping machine and master bundle wrapping machine with automatic top, bottom and side wood blocks insertion during the wrapping cycle. The system is designed to automatically read the width of the bundle and select the right top and bottom wood block dimensions from the wood block storage system. Scraps recovery systems PA have designed and constructed a wide variety of scrap recovery and handling systems over the years to handle both lightweight and heavy profiles. The systems used include loading and unloading arms, hard wearing conveyor systems and the use of specially designed containers for scrap transfer around the plant using overhead cranes or other automated systems. The use of scrap shears - from 20 tons to 120 tons - have been successfully supplied to customers worldwide and are used to cut the profiles into shorter lengths in order to optimize transportation and loading to the remelt facilities. Automatic uPVC packing lines These lines consist of automated systems for lifting and transferring uPVC profiles and pipes out of the containers used to transport them from the extruder machines to the automatic packing line. The profiles or pipes are then divided into smaller batches and then singularized on specially designed conveyors where they are flattened out and formed into the pre-programmed batches to be wrapped. The batches are then individually taped using stretch film to ensure that they do not subside or open out during the wrapping phase. A specially designed machine which inserts the pre-prepared bundles into a sleeve-like polythene tube which is then tucked under the bundle and sealed at the ends with sticky tape (it is also possible to weld the ends of the tube using a heat seal if necessary). A label is applied automatically to the end of each bundle before it is automatically stacked into a skip or made into a bundle ready for final strapping. 11 Products Logistic Conveyors for full and empty baskets Skip transport systems designed to transfer skips smoothly and quickly around the plant. Inverter controlled for even acceleration and deceleration. No jolting movements. Skip piler/Depiler Automatic systems to pile/depile empty or full skips Automatic bridge cranes Automatic bridge cranes can be used to load and unload all parts of the extrusion and packing lines, assuring the highest level of safety, programming speed and flexibility. It is equipped with sophisticated hardware and software devices and can be interfaced with other management systems in order to constantly monitor the production process and allow the tracing of a given product. Structures having different dimensions, capacities and speeds can be realized in order to satisfy the customer’s needs. Shuttle Fully automated shuttles for handling and storing finished strapped bundles or skips. Delivered complete with rails, buss-bar, cantilever racks and safety fencing. The system automatically selects the bundle or skip to be transferred to the dispatch area, automatically updating the software regarding shipping priorities and bundle storage positions which are situated along the shuttle rails themselves. The selected bundle (or skip) is lifted above the maximum height of the other underlying stored bundles (or skips) in the dynamic buffer by means of rotating forks and is transferred to chain conveyors situated in the dispatch area from which it is off-loaded. The shuttle is designed to transfer up to two finished bundles (or skips) at a time. 12 Products Storage High rise automatic storage As well as supplying the framework and robot “picker” PA can also supply all the software needed for running the storage system which can be integrated into the overall ERP system used by the customer. The storage system can be a self-supporting frame covered with a roof and insulating panels as well as a bracing structure to ensure full stability in harsh climatic conditions (strong winds for example) as well as being anti-seismic. The warehouse receives units from the loading bays and delivers units to the loading bays. Data entry (underframes and contents association) are transferred to and from the supervision system by typing on the keyboard and/or using the barcode readers. The supervisor PC which contains all the information concerning the contents and positions of special underframes in the warehouse. Honeycomb die storage The « Die-O-Matic HoneyComb» automated die storage warehouse has been designed according to the “single die” principle whereby dies are stored and retrieved individually. The structure is self supporting and conforms to international S3 antiseismic regulations. The main elements of the die-storage system are the overhead crane (called a picker) for transferring the dies, the main structure or frame (honeycomb type) where the dies are stocked and a specially designed software system which is used to create a database and stores all the essential data regarding the dies themselves. The picker unit is made up of a solidly welded structure with dual I-beams forming the main overhead gantry. 13 Picker unit with detail of die-slide (telescopic forks) The picker itself is equipped with a specially designed telescopic linear slide device (telescopic forks) which is programmed by a PC. This device can load and unload to both the left or right as required and is fully calibrated for precise movements inside the die storage system. Supply includes independent electrical cabinet and touchscreen with operating software, control panel and remote control with radio transmitter for semi-automatic operation, traditional pushbutton with emergency controls as well as controls and switches for the two loading / unloading conveyors. Tower type die storage The dies are stored in several trays. The automatic picker deliver the tray of the requested dies directly on the loading/unloading conveyor. Supply includes independent electrical cabinet and touchscreen with operating software, control panel and remote control with radio transmitter for semi-automatic operation, traditional pushbutton with emergency controls. 14 Products Securflow SECUREFLOW is an advanced complete supervisory system to allow you - the customer - to maintain complete control over the production flow and relevant databases in your plant. Each and every machine in the plant is linked by a hyper-ring networking system to allow a complete interface between the machines and production flow (customer information). PA has a team of specialized software experts with a widespread long-term professional experience in the field of developing software solutions for the aluminium industry. How does it works? SECUREFLOW can be integrated with new or existing data management systems, when these are present, with which it can exchange information regarding the status of orders. It can also be applied to existing systems applied on the machines themselves. Its development environment consists of all the main types of database (MSSQLServer, Oracle, MySql, etc.), the main makers of PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Telemecanique, Omron, etc.) the main Scada (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) software systems (RSView, WinCC, Movicon). Support systems include Touch Screens, Stationary barcode readers, handheld wireless barcode readers, radar systems, thermal printers for adhesive labels, etc... Advantages: SECUREFLOW allows you to: - Verify the operating efficiency in your plant at a glance, automatically highlighting or signalling any problems within the production flow (e.g. machines stopped or working below a predetermined efficiency level); - Use a “wildcard” system to trace for example any given customer order number, die number, type of profile or skip number in your plant and know at any given moment exactly where it lies in the productive process (e.g. press, aging ovens, packing, despatch, etc.) - Automatically signal machines which require preventive maintenance as this arises see the operating efficiency of any given machine at any given time and read off downtimes over any given period, thus singling out machines which may be faulty or require additional maintenance; - Apply a flexible productive management system which will allow you to eliminate dead times and carry out quick order changeovers; - Eliminate repetitive and mundane tasks like completing worksheets and therefore reduce the number of staff in your factory; - Control quality and trouble-shoot for reasons why quality has not been assured; - Personalize the system so that it focuses on your requirements add on changes and improvements as you require - SECUREFLOW is an “open-ended” system. 15 Service Specialized staff dedicated to any customer need Even after our machines are assembled and commisioned, they are followed and monitored by our Service department, one of our strengths, a team of professionals highly specialized in assisting customers during production.
