Box 102 • New Albany, IN 47151-0102 • 812/944-8572 It’s Harvest Homecoming time again! The long, hot, summer days are slowly coming to an end, and the fall season is approaching. We, as residents of Southern Indiana, recognize this as a sign that the Harvest Homecoming Festival is just around the corner. Each year the Harvest Homecoming President is honored with choosing a theme for the festival. There have been many great themes over the past 47 years. This year’s theme is meant to take us back to our teen years. If you can remember cruising Spring Street through Frisch’s, White Castle, the Ranch House, or Steak ‘n Shake in Clarksville, this year’s theme is for you. I am proud to announce the theme for the 2015 Harvest Homecoming Festival, “HotRod Harvest.” In choosing the theme for our festival this year my goal is to re-live a time in our past that was fun and care-free. No cell phones, Facebook or Twitter, just our cars, friends, and a place to hang out. So as you attend the Harvest Homecoming Festival this year take a moment to think back and remember how things use to be. Carnegie Center Harvest Homecoming is a group of volunteers dedicated to providing a family oriented festival. It unites the community in a spirit of fellowship and is committed to continuous improvement. Harvest Homecoming - A Local Legacy Honored by the Library of Congress Bicentennial Local Legacies Project in 2000, the Harvest Homecoming festival draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to New Albany, Indiana, and has been thriving and growing for 48 years. The festival was conceived as a means of bringing the people of Southern Indiana together to share in its wealth of talent, historic background, and beauty. What is now over a week of events began as a three-day “Pumpkin Festival,” a civic effort by the Tourism Bureau of the New Albany Chamber of Commerce. It is now run exclusively by Harvest Homecoming Festival Associates, Inc., a non-profit organization fully operated by volunteers and sponsors. Restrooms located in the alley-ways. Limited parking available on Riverfront. Free wagon rides from downtown area to the Riverfront on Saturday, October 10 between 9:00am - 7:00pm. Courtesy of Harvest Homecoming. Download all entry forms at www.harvesthomecoming.com or pick up at the Harvest Homecoming Office, 431 Pearl St. Please have consideration for other festival guests.
