Fayetteville’s most unique and historic dining
experience. The calaboose was built in the 1860’s of
limestone rock with a wood building in the front for the
fire station. In 1906, a fire destroyed the wood building
and the fire hall (as it now stands) was built in front of the
calaboose. In 1954, the cinderblock fire truck garage
was built behind the cells. The metal cells located in
the back room were once used as portable cells. They
transported and housed the prisoners while they worked
on the roads. This building was used as the city jail and
fire station until 1970. The city sold the property in 1980.
Cahoots was opened in October 1987.
