Artist
of the
Month
August’s featured artist of the month in the Inn’s Gallery of Shops is Casey
Matthews. Although a native of San Antonio, Texas, Casey has considered
the Southeast her home for over 20 years. She studied Art and Art History at
Texas Christian University and the University of Alabama. This award-winning
artist has sold to collectors throughout North America and Europe, and currently
works from her downtown studio in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Her current body
of work is primarily mixed-media abstract painting, and explores a constant
discourse between intuitive and non-objective. The work combines emotional
content, observation, technique, exploration, and reinvention.

rhythms, Zumba class combines high energy

This event will be held on Sunday, August 9 on
The Lagoon Course. Trophies will be awarded
in age groups for 1st - 3rd Places.

- PVMGA The Net Club Championship for the
PVMGA, better known as The President’s
Cup, is coming on August 1st and 8th.
The Ocean Course will host round 1
and The Lagoon Course will host the
final round, both in 8:30 a.m. shotguns.
PVMGA members can play in just one or
both of the days and still be eligible for
daily prizes. Sign up in the men’s locker
room or call the golf shop to sign up.

Twilight Couples Golf
This will mark the last Twilight Couples golf of the
summer so come out and join this popular 9 hole
event followed by hors d’oeouvres, wine and beer.
This is a fun scramble format for member couples,
and also allows for guests to play. Friday, August 21
at 5:30 p.m. Call the golf shop to sign up.
The PVWGA is calling out for new ladies
to join the association. They offer weekly
play days on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s,
as well as run all of the major ladies events
like the Member-Guest Tournament. Call
the golf shop for more information on
joining this great group!
For the month of August the golf professional
staff is offering a new package for this month
only! A $300 package can be purchased for
only $150. This package includes all you
need to get started with this game, a one
hour golf lesson, one round of golf (18 holes),
one dozen golf balls and a FootJoy glove.

over 7 courts with 28 enthusiastic players. Receiving

A Retail Moment
August is a great month to accessorize

Also, the next time you change the grip on
your racket don’t keep piling over-grips on
top of the used (under) grips. You should
eventually replace the under-grip for
extra cushion and support in your hand.
