The Mi’kmaq Warriors Home Opener
A huge Thank You to the Warriors Fans, Supporters and Volunteers for making Thursday Home Opener a
special night for our players. We are blown away not only by your support for the Warriors but also for
Mental Health Awareness, an issue that is bigger than one lacrosse game.
With your support, this event raised $500 toward Mental Health and will donate 141 teddy bears to the
IWK youth. Your support made this a night that will be a lasting memory for the Warriors.
The Warriors are one of the 1st ECJLL teams to take on the challenge of bring awareness to an issue in
our community and without the amazing support of you, the fans it wouldn't be possible.
THANK YOU from players, coaches, board members and volunteers for again showing you are the best
fans in the ECJLL and how much pride you have in your and our community.

Refills
It is a patient’s responsibility to ensure that they do not run out of their prescribed medications. The easiest way
to do this is when you call the pharmacy for your last refill make a doctor’s appointment at the same time. Do
not wait until you take the last pill from your last refill. Nurses can NOT refill prescribed medications.
Pharmacists can refill some prescribed medications such as diabetes and high blood pressure ones but they can
NOT refill narcotics or benzodiazepines. If they are required to refill a medication there is a $10 charge. Also
please note that many over the counter items such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen are covered by Non Insured
Health Benefits with a Doctor’s prescription as well as items like wrist and knee braces. Please get a prescription
for these items and they can be billed to NIHB the same as your other medications.

Millbrook First Nation and Halifax Port Authority sign MOU
May 25, 2016, Millbrook, NS – Millbrook First Nation has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU) with the Halifax Port Authority. The agreement was signed today by Millbrook First Nation Chief
Bob Gloade and Halifax Port Authority President and CEO Karen Oldfield. The MOU outlines how
Millbrook First Nation and the Halifax Port Authority (HPA) will pursue the potential of Millbrook infilling
a portion of the Tufts Cove waterlot adjacent to the existing Millbrook land at Shannon Park. The
waterlot is under the administration of the HPA.
“This is a very positive development,” said Chief Bob Gloade. “The potential use of this waterlot would
complement our existing land and allow us to move forward in our long-term planning and vision for this
site.”
“We are working together to explore options that will unlock the potential of this waterlot,” said Karen
Oldfield, President and CEO, Halifax Port Authority. “Our goal is to find a solution that will benefit the
members of Millbrook First Nation and support community development.”
The Memorandum of Understanding will continue for a period of two years during which time Millbrook
First Nation and the Halifax Port Authority will fully explore the conditions involved in entering into an
extended lease.

while at school and your performance at last year’s summer placement will all be factors
that are highly considered during the placement process.
