A Message From Dan O’Toole I promised myself that I would sit down tonight and write my contribution to the summer issue of Northern Prancer and I’m determined to do it (11th hour is as good as any). Well the weather is just right, it’s raining as it has much of this spring and I have a deadline to meet. But the forecast looks great this weekend and I’m looking forward to our first Ferrari weekend getaway – the 4th annual FCA Ottawa Ferrari Festival. We’ve made this a must do event since its inception. It’s the perfect time of the year to see Ottawa, the organizers are perfectionists, Ferrari friends continue to return and we’ve always had great weather. We typically leave from our home in Summer 2009 Newmarket and travel via 2 lane back roads to Ottawa arriving in time to enjoy the Friday evening events. We expect traffic to be light, weather to co-operate and “no stories to tell” when we get there. The weekend flows very nicely from event to event and before we know it, its time to head back home Sunday night. By the time you read this piece, the event will have come and gone but I hope that I’ve had the chance to meet many of you again or for the first time. It you haven’t attended the FCA Ottawa Ferrari Festival, mark your calendars and plan to attend the event in 2010, you won’t be disappointed. We’ve seen record attendance for all of our events this year to date as you’ll see attested in articles covering our various spring events starting with the AGM, followed by our first track event, the annual concours and the Lake Simcoe tour. Our premier spring event is the annual concours and this year Linda and Jim Hyatt out did themselves aided by the wonderful contribution of a very Ferrari Club of America - Northern Prancer Page unique venue generously provided by Ian and Ingrid Carlsen. It was the largest FCA Regional Concours that I’ve ever attended, the weather was perfect, the setting more than perfect, cars were lined up and assembled in perfect rows as far as I could see and most everything came off without a hitch. As much as I enjoyed meeting old friends, I was heartened at the attendance level of new members. We’re experiencing a renaissance in membership many of whom are quickly becoming active members of the club both as participants as well as volunteers. We always can use more volunteers; it’s amazing how many people it actually takes to pull off these events. The quality of the event is even more surprising given that it’s a volunteer event from beginning to end. Hats off to all of you who participated in the Concours and indeed to all contributors in various events held by our region throughout the year, a great job well done, we certainly couldn’t do it without you! We witnessed a spectacular launch of the new Ferrari of Ontario store earlier this spring. Attended by one of the largest contingents of Ferrari owners seen in Canada and a host of dignitaries, Remo did it right and launched his latest undertaking with a bang. Topping off the store launch, we finally got a chance to finally view the latest Ferrari offering, the California. Like it or not, your appreciation for what Ferrari has accomplished with this new offering will be more appreciated when seen in the flesh. Of particular note, the right to purchase the first Ferrari California in Canada was auctioned off to the highest bidder with the proceeds donated to the Sick Children’s Hospital in Toronto. The new Ferrari of Ontario facility is about the finest I’ve ever seen, it offers 3 floors of unique Ferrari and Maserati offerings making this location a must see attraction. So that’s all in the past, what do we have in store for the summer? Due to the success of our track event, Evan Friedman has graciously volunteered to manage another Ferrari track event at Mosport in August. Details are still forthcoming but you can stay up to date by watching Evan’s website http://myferrariclub.com/ . For those of you who have not enjoyed an opportunity to appreciate your Ferrari on the track, we have a format that should put you at ease. This run-group is a helmet free introductory group. The format will be a paced, one designated passing zone session, with instructors. The intent is to bolster confidence, learn the track, and enjoy the experience. We have the FCA National event at the end of July at Road America in Wisconsin. The Ferrari Club of America’s 2009 Annual Meet will be truly international, tak- Page Ferrari Club of America - Northern Prancer ing us to Elkhart Lake, WI and Road America for an elegant and exciting celebration. The Meet includes the internationally recognized FCA Concours d’Elegance, a road rally, three days of racetrack activities, a vendor market, seminars, receptions, charity auction and a banquet with award presentations. The theme will be the Boxers and 15 Year Re-union of 333 SP – with special focus on sports racers ranging from the classics of the 50’s and 60’s to the modern GT and Challenge cars. I understand that the main hotel is now sold out so it looks like there will be great attendance at this very unique venue (yes, there are backup hotels so you can still make plans to attend). Further information can be found at the FCA National web site http://www.fca2009.org . Dianne and I hosted our first Director’s Drive on July the 18th. Rodney’s weekend in August is a three day event in Eastern Ontario and will fill out our summer calendar and take us to September. Fall events will include our annual rally and wine tour. There’s a lot to do this summer, come and join fellow enthusiasts in a wonderful pursuit. As we like to say, we joined the club because of Ferrari, we remain members because of the friends we’ve met. Enjoy your summer! As the longest serving employee of Ferrari of Ontario, Frank has been on the front line serving the city’s growing Ferrari community for over 30 years. Today, he is the Senior Technician in charge of all restoration projects as well as the Classiche program. Northern Prancer interviewed Frank in his “office” – the Restoration Department in the brand new Ferrari of Ontario dealership. production model right up to the 575. Since I now concentrate mainly on the older cars, I’m happy to leave our newer models to some of the rest of our certified technicians. NP – What do you spend most of your time working on now? Frank – Just about everything from the classics of the 60s and 70s NP – Frank, when did you first start working on Ferraris? Frank – Actually, I started working for Remo in 1977. For the first few years it was just the two of us working out of an old garage at Yonge and Hwy 7. As our business grew, we kept moving to larger locations. All along I have been fortunate to have what I believe is one of the best jobs in the world – servicing and restoring the finest automobiles ever made. NP – How have you been able to keep up with the increasing complexity of the new models? Frank – I have been fortunate to be able to attend many factory certification courses in both Maranello and New Jersey. I am certified on every Page NP – What would you say are the most challenging projects you ever worked on? Frank – Probably the most fun for me was working through a complete restoration of a competition Daytona a few years back. My toughest job may well have been rebuilding the engine on a 512S (that’s the race car that preceded the 512BB). The engine was blown and the piston punched a hole right through the block. You can’t just go out and buy a new block for a 512S – we had to repair the block and remanufacture a new piston sleeve. NP – What are the big gest changes you have seen over the years? Frank beside a rebuilt 348 engine to the cars of the late 90s. As well, I’ve been glad to see more 308, 328 Frank – Well, of course our and 348 models are coming back here organization has gotten a lot bigger for service and restoration. and there are many more new types of customers. President Ferrari Maserati of Ontario The new Ferrari California - first sight of this new model in Canada Summer 2009 Ferrari Club of America - Northern Prancer Page News from Umberto Bonfa Sales Manager - Ferrari Maserati Quebec W ith the lack of the F1 Grand Prix of Canada, Ferrari Quebec has kept the Ferrari hype in Montreal healthy by having 2 Ferrari Maserati Quebec Customer appreciation days at Le Circuit Race Track in beautiful Mont-Tremblant. The remaining day is August 19, 2009 (spots are still available). Our customers are treated to a full day of track with their Ferrari’s. Instructors, safety crew, lunch and pictures are part of the package which costs $750.00. What a great get away instead of playing golf. It’s a beautiful opportunity to converse with new customers and enjoy your Prancing Horse to its limits in a safe manner. On Monday June 8, we unveiled the 2010 California . It felt like our VIP F1 night in respect to the enthusiasm of our customers. The parking around the building was overwhelmed with Ferrari’s, the food and wine was incredible and the California made its way into the showroom where about 150 of our guests and a 1967 365 California greeted the new member of the family with open arms. This is an absolutely incredible automobile. Its literally the best of both worlds in terms of Gran Touring and full blown Sports car. On June 20, Ferrari Maserati Quebec was also involved in the Ottawa Ferrari Festival. Highlights of the event was the parade where a host of Fiat cinquecento’s guided our 2010 California along Preston street . Another treat for the Tifosi was the speed zone where the California strut its stuff. With its 7 speed transmission and the fade resistant Carbo-Ceramic brakes, the California felt how a Ferrari should feel. We would like to thank the crew in Ottawa for realizing such a spectacular event. From the Scuderia at Ferrari Maserati Quebec , Have a safe and fun summer. There were 41 participants in Ferraris attending. It was real nice to be surrounded by so many enthusiasts. I’m pretty sure we had over 100 people at the track. The weather was perfect. The morning was a bit hectic, as it tends to be with all the arrivals, registration, tech line, and the general meeting. The confusion tends to perfuse the paddock when everyone is wondering where they should be and what they should be doing. things settled down and proceeded like clockwork, under the watchful eye of our illustrious chief instructor, Derek Hanson. Early morning started off well with the instructor group clearing up the dust off the track. VIA group had the first classroom session, followed by the Scuola group, as the Piloti group hit the track. Peter Hanson handled the classroom. We made a point to make sure that all the instructors were well informed about the classroom synopsis. Summer 2009 Ferrari Club of America - Northern Prancer Page 11 Julie and Rick’s 4th Annual Ferrari Drive in Support of Cancer Research June 7, 2009 By Jenelle Ross and Richard Taylor G ood things happen to good people – as the saying goes and once again the adage rings true. The Cory’s, Julie and Rick, worked really hard to organize another successful Ferrari Drive for Cancer Research, and a lot of good things happened. Over $1,500 raised, bringing the running total over $10,000 For any Eastern Canada Ferrari Club of America driving-event the weather is always key – it would be expected that a date in mid-June is a fairly safe bet that we will have some summer-like weather. It’s not unreasonable to have expectations of low 20’s / 70’s (depending on the scale of your choice), sunny skies, maybe the odd little fluffy white cloud, a gentle cooling breeze from Lake Simcoe, and families enjoying the parks and beaches along the south shore of Lake Simcoe, having picnics, bbq’s and just a relaxing time. Not so this year! Page 12 Checking before we headed out to the rendezvous – the forecast was calling for temperatures in the high teens / 60’s with scattered showers …. Maybe the showers would be scattered over that place called “elsewhere”. The forecast did not deter anyone . Everyone who had registered assembled at the Petro-Canada station just east of the 404 on 16th Avenue in Markham, along with a few others. Fortunately, the Briars were able to adjust the group’s numbers so everyone was able to fully enjoy the entire even. The Petro-Canada station was brimming with exotics – 20 Ferraris, 5 Alfas, 2 Aston Martins, a couple of Porsches, and really cute 2002 BMW. What a sight. I suspect that suddenly the Sunday morning, “honey will you go and get the car filled up before we pack-up the kids and dogs to go to Mom’s for lunch…” will no longer carry with it that dread of standing half-asleep pumping gas into the family car on a Sunday morning… we saw lots of wide-eyed Petro-Canada customers, who were quite amazed with the view. At 11:00 am – Rick and Julie held the drivers meeting – instructions, warnings and maps were distributed. It would be a straight-forward route to the south shore of Lake Simcoe, a little highway, some great back-roads, all with menacing black clouds to the north. Ferrari Club of America - Northern Prancer Summer 2009 The route would take us up the 404, then a quick jog over to Warden and north on up to a specific side-road to cut back across to Lake Simcoe. It was uneventful leg up the 404, and across to Warden. From there it was a straight run through beautiful countryside. The corn crop was breaking ground; young calves were starting to venture away from their mothers’ sides. There was one stretch, where the trees with their foliage out in full, created a tunnel over the road – how cool and refreshing that will be when it’s stinking hot and humid! What idyllic scenery. So idyllic that a few participants second-guessed the directions and, as we are all so well disciplined at doing as we are told (!), a small splinter group decided to take a further sortie into the country-side. What a sight – about 10 cars, turning on a country road, with a milk tanker and others patiently waiting (and maybe having a chuckle or two?). Anyhow the splinter group caught up with the others … and we were off to the scenic south shore of Lake Simcoe. said …. go past the resort … where were we going? Well – just past the golf course, there was another driveway … and a lawn full of exotic cars in front of “The Summer House” – a great building. It was easy to imagine the building “back in the day” – covered veranda, white rattan furniture -- mint juleps and lazy afternoons come to mind. The Summer House, being in Ontario also had a wonderful stone fireplace – and a roaring fire, which really warmed us up. Just as we (the adventurous group who took a little detour) arrived at the Summer House – a light drizzle started … and what a sight -- Lindsay’s 328 rolling in, roof off, Ferrari umbrella opened and being held high by Leslie – anything to keep the drizzle out of the car! It was time for us to do what we do – regroup, enjoy lunch and socialize. This event is special because not only is it one of the Chapter’s annual driving events, it also is fund raiser. This year the McDowell family pitched-in and staffed the donation centre as well as kept an eye on the “field” while we enjoyed our lunch. Angela McDowell will be walking the Weekend to End Breast Cancer this year, and is now well on her way There was quite a wind blowing, and the Lake was choppy. Lots of residents welcomed the convoy with “thumbs-up” as it made its way through the various communities along the south shore -- arriving at the Briar’s Resort’s “Summer House”. The Briars is well know to our chapter of the Ferrari Club of America – the Hyatt’s ran the concours there for a number of years, as well as being the final destination for the Cory’s Drive for Cancer Research on a couple of occasions. The driving instructions Summer 2009 Ferrari Club of America - Northern Prancer Page 13 to raise the necessary funds, thanks to the generous support of Club members. Club members also take members of the public for a ride in a Ferrari; we only ask that a donation be made. Well one little guy came back from a ride with Rocco – with eyes as wide a saucers! Wouldn’t it be great if his teacher asked, and what did you do on the weekend! What a story that would be. Lunch was great – and as always a great opportunity to catch-up with other club members. This year an invitation was also extended to the Alfa Club – great idea and it was wonderful to have examples of the marque. Rick – that once again provided huge pay-back for club members, guests and Cancer Research. So what made this year’s event special? A number of things – record number of participants, record number of different marques, record amount of great feedback on the event, and record efforts of Julie and It’s impossible to thank Julie and Rick enough for all of the effort that it takes to put an event like this together. The easier it looks to participants, the harder the organizers worked. Speaking for all, Thank You! As the saying goes, “same time next year” – everyone who attended will say, “for sure”. May 25, 2009 Story by Carol Bernacci; Photos by Dickson Ly and Lucas Scarfone H ow does one begin an article that my husband so kindly volunteered me to write? Well, truth be told given the subject matter it is really quite easy and a pleasure to do so. The 2009 Concours held at the Manor in Woodbridge, Ont. on Sunday May 24 proved to be a great day for Ferrari fans. While initially the weather seemed like it may not cooperate, as the morning wore on we were treated to plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures, keeping all Ferrari enthusiasts happy. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the ever jovial Jim Hyatt, and his crew of greeters who welcomed us and provided us with our package for the concours. This was in fact the 35th year of the annual concours with almost 50 cars participating, which is over half the number that participated in the international event last year. Cars were carefully directed onto the beautiful grounds for viewing, and judging. We were all afforded the opportunity at this time to mingle and judge the vast array of fine automobiles. Among the bevy of fine cars, notables include a Lusso, a Dino and 2 Scuderias. We were also treated at this time to Tim Horton’s coffee, cold beverages and treats, so graciously provided by Ralph and Joy Shepherd. Shortly after the judging process was closed we were invited up to the outdoor dining area, tables adorned with fresh flowers, for a wonderful buffet lunch. The Italian style buffet was provided by Il Cavallino Ristorante of Woodbridge. The food was plentiful and the authentic Italian meal delicious. With a well fed audience, organizer of the event Jim Hyatt stepped up to the microphone to announce the winners of each category. The beautiful plaques for the winning cars/owners were produced by Mark Maholm (http://markmaholm. com/) the same artist that provided plaques for the National event. Top four winners in the four categories were Randy and Julia Paisley (Lusso); Tom and Marie McKeown (Testarossa); Hubert and Connie Lee, (430 Spider) and Jim and Linda Hyatt. (308 GTS) Second places went to Dennis and Carol Sakamoto (512 TR); Ralph and Joy Shepherd (355 GTS); Rocco and Connie Solmito (308 GTB) and Oliver and Janice Silver (412) Congratulations to all the winners! Shortly after lunch and a little more mingling and picture taking we quietly (as quiet as Ferrari’s can be) dispersed. Without question an event as successful and well organized as this could not come to fruition without some very dedicated people at the helm. Jim and Linda Hyatt did an amazing job of putting everything together for this great day. The work behind the scenes to ensure the success of such an undertaking involves many volunteers, and as Jim said - Vicki and Bob Reid are an invaluable asset to the club. A very special thank you to Ingrid and Ian Carlsen for their efforts and to Dr. Lloyd Carlsen for sharing his beautiful property. Ian also graciously raffled off a $1,000 gift certificate for the “Ageless in Toronto” executive health program at The Manor. The lucky winner was Paul Newman. My apologies to those whose names are not mentioned, (as a relatively new member I am not familiar with everyone), but a sincere thank you to all those involved in orchestrating such a wonderful event. However, on Friday, the first day of the festival that opened with a track day at the world-class Calabogie racetrack, the sun was shining and the forecast was much more promising for the weekend. Enzo must have a lot of influence up there and God is obviously a Ferrari fan! Just north of Ottawa, the small town of Calabogie was just waking up to the sounds of 20 or so Ferraris from as far away as New York State, Montreal and Toronto – and even Manitoulin Island. Thanks again to Xclusive Auto for allowing the Ferraris to use one of their scheduled track events. Once each car passed the sound meter test to ensure that it met the limitations imposed by the track, drivers were ready to pace their cars. This year, Montreal manufacturer T-Rex, who not only sponsored our event but also showcased some of their vehicles (go to http://go-t-rex. com for information), joined us. Drivers were invited to try out this unique 3-wheeled vehicle that boasted 200 A T-Rex at speed Summer 2009 hp and weighed a little over 1,000 lbs. There were 2 Ferrari Challenge cars from Auto Bugatti, as well as several other Ferraris. Many of the Ferraris gathered for the pace-it-don’t-raceit event, whereby helmets were not required and drivers and passengers up the traffic… All participants enjoyed a nice lunch of BBQ chicken and sausages with salads and soft drinks before setting out on the track again for the afternoon’s run. Fortunately, there Ferraris pacing around the track. alike had an opportunity to enjoy were no incidents and it was a safe the track at a lesser speed behind a and fun-filled day for all participants pace car. and spectators alike. I, in my 512TR, Friday evening was an opportuchose to run in the novice nity to display the beautiful Italian group as I only do this machines on Preston Street (or Corsa once a year. At least this Italia). Although much of Preston gives me the chance to pass Street was under construction, there everyone, rather than have was a finished section that could the feeling that I’m holding well accommodate the 40 Ferraris. Ferrari Club of America - Northern Prancer Page 21 Secure parking on Preston Street Cars were assembled in the parking lot of St. Anthony’s Soccer Club, where windshield banners were applied and registration took place during the cocktail hour. A cash bar was set up and various hors d’oeuvres were made available. At 6:00 pm, the street was closed and the Ferraris were paraded onto Corsa Italia and arranged into groups along the length of the street. Each group was cordoned off with yellow ropes and 1 or 2 security personnel stayed watch. Similarly to last year, high school kids, as part of a community program, handled security and they could be recognized by their lime green tops. An information sheet for each vehicle was clipped to the rope giving model, age, engine size and configuration, HP, acceleration and top speed, as well as a similar information sheet on the dash. Ferrari owners and guests had a multitude of fine Italian restaurants from which to choose along Corsa Italia. Several suggestions were given in the registration kit from restaurants sponsoring Page 22 the event. There was also a good selection of entertainment available along the street until way into the night. Saturday’s weather was great as the Ferraris assembled at the Commissioner’s Park at 9:00 am for the fun run to Mackenzie King Estate. Cars were assembled in no particular order and proceeded to the estate along a route that took them across the Portage Bridge, through downtown Gatineau where we eventually joined the Gatineau Parkway. At each turn, a Ferrari was parked to direct participants. For the most part, the vehicles stayed together and it was quite a thrill for some to gaze upon Ferraris of various models as far as the eye could see. This year, we took a small detour and stopped at the Champlain lookout, where we commandeered the parking lot. When we left there to go to the Estate, we all stayed together. I was about 5th in line and could see the wonder on the faces of many of the cyclist as this stream of Ferraris passed them by. I can only imagine the awe when 30 Ferraris had passed! Over 50 people stormed the Estate and enjoyed Mimosa (Champagne and orange juice) along with some delicious hors d’oeuvres. At 11:30 am, we left in a convoy of Ferraris back to Preston Street and Dow Honda Paddock, the staging area for the Demonstration Zone, where they were roped off and displayed for the public enjoyment. It was now time for lunch and drivers and passengers were directed to Malone’s Restaurant at Dow’s Lake. After a delicious meal of Lasagna, it was time to return to the paddock and ready ourselves for the next event – the Demonstration Zone. The Demonstration Zone remained on Carling Avenue, and this year returned to the regular section that runs West of Preston. Concrete barriers lined the route to allow cars to speed up to one end, loop around the median, and speed back. This year, cars made 3 laps after exciting the crowds with screeching tires and burning rubber off the line. The spectator’s grandstand, situated next to the start line, was definitely a smoking zone… Prior to the Ferraris Ferrari Club of America - Northern Prancer Summer 2009 being paraded, there were several other “hot” machines to please the crowds. Again this year, a parade of go-carts delighted everyone as these machines zipped around the course at seemingly very fast speeds – especially with your jewels only inches from the ground... There was also a Formula Atlantic race car and the T-Rexes. Once again, a special thanks goes out to Peter Evans for his efforts in organizing this event. It was time now to return the Ferraris to the gathering area at St. Anthony’s, in preparation for the closing of Preston and positioning of the cars for the evening. As 6:00 PM approached, jackets and dresses replaced tee shirts and shorts as over 250 people filed into the dining room. Diners were greeted with well-prepared tables of eight and were able to view a slide show of pictures taken so far of the festivities by our official photographers, André Chenier and Eric Galipeau. It was my honour to introduce the evening’s MCs - Angie Poirier & Bill Welychka from the local A-Channel. I also drew people’s attention to a unique item that was offered on the silent auction – an engraved piece of Corian whereby an image from a photo was depicted by the depth of engraving that allowed light to penetrate the various contours. Thanks to Bernie Meunier for donating the item that offered the recipient to use any picture they choose for this unique display. The meal started with an antipasto, followed by delicious penne pasta with bolognese sauce. After the salad course, we were served with a succulent Veal Marsala and Chicken Piccata accompanied by a medley of fresh vegetables. Each table sported Summer 2009 both red and white wine to accompany the meal, proudly sponsored by FCA Ottawa, diners were then treated to a fashion show put on by Paris-trained, Ottawa-based Richard Robinson, Fashion Designer, Couturier and leader of the Richard Robinson Academy of Fashion Design. While this was being consumed, I took the stage again to address the diners and give a special recognition to the tireless efforts of Peppe Castrucci for his tenacity and drive that made the event so successful. Diners then filed into Corsa Italia on a lovely evening to join in the activities there. Thousands of revelers paraded up and down the Ferrari-lined Street, enjoying all that the festival had to offer. We were fortunate this year to have a retail booth offering Ferrari paraphernalia from model cars to golf shirts and hats. The green tee-shirted sentinels were doing an excellent job of security for the cars as well as providing information on the vehicles for admiring onlookers. As the evening got late, it was time for drivers to leave Preston street and return to either their home or hotel. Cars were “walked” out due to the congested crowds of people still enjoying the festivities. Richard Robinson takes a bow day casual wear for both women and men. The sell-out crowd was treated to a 45 minute presentation that had many in the audience impressed with the style, colours and designs which have made Richard Robinson who he is today. The stylish hats, shoes and accessories completed the show and had many people asking about the availability of the line presented. This generous donation of time and effort by Mr. Robinson helped raise the profile of the FCA Ottawa Ferrari Festival and helped us to further raise money for Villa Marconi As Sunday morning dawned, some dark clouds were threatening but the sun eventually won the battle for control of the sky. It was time for the CIBC Charity Dream Drive, where people were able to buy tickets for the opportunity to ride in a Ferrari. A total of 42 tickets were sold at $50 each to raise $2,100 for Villa Marconi. About 12 cars showed up for the event and gave riders a chance in a lifetime to experience the thrill of a Ferrari. The route took excited participants from the CIBC parking lot West on Carling to Fisher, then left onto Island Park Drive. This took riders through the Experimental Farm, where every Ferrari Club of America - Northern Prancer Page 23 tival Chair, presented a cheque for $18,000 to a very grateful Marco Pagini, President of Villa Marconi. It is appropriate however to mention here the major sponsors of the event: Preston Street BIA, Laurysen Kitchens, Talos Custom Homes, Auto Bugatti, Birra Moretti, Campagna Motors, Angie’s Modeling & Talent Agency, Richard Robinson Haute Couture, Ferrari Quebec, Barwood Flooring, Roy Masters Medical Corp., Ferrari Ontario for door prizes, Dan Fernandez LLB for legal services, Auto Trader and Dow Honda. Scotiabank and CIBC made direct contributions to Villa Marconi. The event raised $18,000 for the Villa Marconi, and still was able to provide some seed money for the club for future events. A couple of final notes. Firdaus Kharas is preparing a professionally-prepared DVD in High-Definition format that is currently being edited, which includes; Calabogie track event, CIBC Charity Dream Drive, Speed Zone and other action shots. There will also be a CD available with numerous still shots of all event activities provided by official photographers. Please check our Website for availability. We invite everyone to join us for next year’s Festival 2010, which, as always, promises to be bigger and better.
