Air-Conditioning Basics
OUTSIDE AIR
The air conditioning system in your car is
comprised of a compressor, condenser,
expansion valve, receiver/drier, and
evaporator. Refrigerant (also known as
Freon) is compressed in the compressor
and turns into a gas. In the condenser, this
gas is cooled to a liquid state and travels
to the expansion valve. As the liquid
refrigerant goes through the expansion
valve it rapidly cools in the evaporator. A
fan blows over the evaporator and cools
the air that blows out your vents. The
receiver-drier separates gas and liquid.

AIR FROM INSIDE VEHICLE
In order to remove the heat from the air in the vehicle,
the A/C evaporator allows the refrigerant to absorb the
heat from the air passing over it. The blower fan moves
cool air out into the car interior.

and circulates the refrigerant through the

Heat drawn out of the interior of the car is
expelled here.

The drier not only
dries refrigerant, it also filters the refrigerant and
stores it under certain operating conditions.

Our fax line is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
Most parts orders are shipped via United Parcel Service (U.P.S.)
within 24-48 hours of the first business day following receipt
of the order. Prepayment can be made by including credit card
information. Credit card orders require a Mastercard, VISA ,
Discover or AMEX account number, Cardholder’s name, and
account expiration date. If you are not home during the day, we
will accept a “ship to” address to have your order delivered to a
friend, relative, or your workplace. Please have payment ready at
the “ship to” address.
Should you wish to prepay your fax order by mailing a check
or certified funds, note that on the order form. We will fax or
phone you back with the exact total including shipping and
handling.
Back Orders
We try very hard to have all catalog items in stock at all
times, however, due to scarcity and long lead times from our
manufacturers, some parts can be temporarily out of stock. If
the item will be back in stock in a short time period, you will be
charged for the part on the original order. We will ship, prepaid,
as soon as possible. Should the backorder be longer, you will
not be charged on the original invoice. Your invoice will be noted
“backorder” for any parts that were out of stock. Back ordered
items will be shipped the same day our stock is replenished.
Back orders can be cancelled at any time, unless already
shipped. Please allow 30 days for refund.
Sales Tax
No sales tax is charged on orders shipped out-of-state.
Residents of Florida and Texas are subject to sales tax on
all orders. Sales tax exemptions are granted to companies
furnishing their sales tax exemption number.
Overseas Orders
We ship worldwide and use Air Parcel Post for small and/or
lightweight orders. All large or heavyweight shipments are sent
by Air Freight.
Phone or fax you order. We will then phone or fax you back
with the exact cost of the order including shipping and handling.
Payment must be made by VISA, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX
or an international money order in U.S. funds. Sorry, no bank
wire transfers. If the order is urgent, send payment by overnight
express service. Most parts orders are shipped within 24 to 48
hours of receipt.

Warranties
Classic Auto Air warrants that the products are free from
defects in material and workmanship under normal use, driving
conditions and service for a period after the invoice date as
follows: Rebuilt parts - 90 days; new parts - 1 year; "Perfect
Fit" complete systems - 3 years; all other systems - 1 year. Our
only obligation under this warranty is to repair or replace, at our
option, the defective part. If you suspect a part is defective, you
must call us immediately or void the warranty. If you get an
RGA (returned goods authorization) number and include a copy
of the original invoice, we will pay the freight on returns of the
defective product. We are not responsible for labor, loss of use,
or any other incidental or consequential damages or expenses of
any kind. This warranty is voided by misuse, alteration, improper
installation, accidental or neglect, including installation of any
refrigerant or additive other than R12 or 134a. THIS WARRANTY
IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, ORAL
AND WRITTEN, INCLUDING MERCHANT ABILITY AND FITNESS
FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
Damaged Merchandise
Please open and inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If
you believe you are missing a part or parts, call us immediately.
All damage resulting from shipping is the responsibility of
the carrier. Keep all packing material with the box and parts.
Without it, the carrier will not pay claims. Immediately call us
with the invoice number from the package label. We will be glad
to assist you in filing a fast and accurate claim with the carrier.
Returns / Refunds
All special orders and electrical parts are non-returnable.
Other parts and systems may be returned within 30 days for
a full refund or exchange. All returns must be shipped freight
prepaid to C.A.A. with a copy of the original invoice enclosed.
All refunds will be subject to a restocking/administrative charge
of 15%. All returns must be complete, uninstalled and in
undamaged factory packaging. Missing parts must be reported
within 5 days of receiving your order. All returns must include an
RGA number, copy of the original invoice, and be shipped prepaid
to us.
Refunds on properly returned merchandise will be credited to
customer’s account. Credit memos may be used on future orders
or customer can request a cash refund. Allow 30 days from date
C.A.A. receives returned merchandise.

Due to price increases charged by our suppliers, we reserve
the right to change prices or withdraw products without prior
notice. Please call to check pricing and availability.
Shipping Policies
We have found the majority of our U.S. and Canadian customers
prefer United Parcel Service (U.P.S.) Standard U.P.S. shipping
is ground service, although we offer 2nd day and next day air
services. Find your zone by locating the first 3 digits of your zip
code on the chart below.
All residents of zones 2 and 3 add 5% for shipping and
handling. Zones 4 through 8 add 10%. Minimum shipping charge
is $12.99 within the lower 48 states. Should you wish 2nd day
or next day air services, call or fax us for exact shipping and
handling charges. All shipments to Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto
Rico are 2nd day and next day air only.

robust, in-dash system does it all, heat, cool, dehumidified, and defrost... a total climate control system. Our excellent reputation for
uncompromised quality, component selection and attention to detail is evident in all of our systems. Each component was chosen
based on it’s superior design, durability and quality (as opposed to some of our competitors low cost, cut a few corners approach).
System Wide High Performance…
Our new Perfect Elite systems are not the only shining star in our product line up… it’s more the pinnacle of all our innovations. That
means no matter which system you choose, you get the benefit of our amazing quality and dependability. Even our “classic” cable
operated units outperform every other system on the market. The performance of our systems is what makes up the logical choice
when you want to stay cool… no matter what the climate is.
ALL our systems are engineered with large, separate A/C and heat coils (just like the factory). Some of our competitors market
small “street rod” type units that contain only one coil. When part of the cooling coil is used as a heater, total system performance
is compromised and the heater tubes can freeze and burst. Flooded, ruined interiors are never a concern with Classic Auto Air units.
Remember, smaller is never better when it comes to coil/case size!
State-of-the-art functionality…
Depending on the system you choose, the mode doors will be controlled by cables or electric servo motors. No complex maze of
vacuum pots, solenoids, relays, micro switches, wire and vacuum harnesses to understand and keep functioning. Classic Air was also
the first to introduce electronic servo motor drive technology, further extending the life and adjustablility of our units. Even our cables
are the highest quality in the market.
All mode doors and shafts are a high temperature, PVC extrusion – just like OEM systems. This exclusive feature totally eliminates
rusted out small diameter shafts and doors that plague the competition. Beware of “throw-away” type units that are actually glued
shut… requiring you to purchase the entire dash unit rather than a single part .
We know what it takes to keep you cool during the hottest summer months, and warm during the coldest of winters. Don’t make an
expensive mistake with a small, poorly made “street rod” type unit. Classic Auto Air takes pride in all our systems, and each every

introduced our new
line of RestoMod Drive
(RMD) billet aluminum
serpentine pulley systems.
Like all our products, these systems are American made to the
strictest manufacturing standards. This compact RMD features
highly polished pulleys and mounting brackets that are CNC machined
from 6061-T6 aluminum and incorporates provisions for alternator,
power steering, and air conditioning.
The RMD pulley systems include all of the necessary billet aluminum pulleys and stainless steel fasteners as
well as the highest quality, name-brand components including a polished Edelbrock water pump, polished
Powermaster 105 amp alternator, Gates tensioner and six rib serpentine belt, polished Sanden A/C compressor,
Maval P/S pump, and ATI harmonic balancer.
Kits for LS engines come with a power steering pump that requires a remote reservoir and hydraulic lines (both
sold separately).
Specify when ordering if your car is equipped with a GM steering box or aftermarket rack & pinion. Classic
Auto Air billet aluminum S-Drive pulley systems are a great complement to our complete Perfect Fit and Elite
Custom A/C kits.

Small Block Chevy Power Steering Brackets
This bracket is designed for the Chevrolet Saginaw
non-metric power steering pump with the attached
reservoir. Allows clearance for the alternator belt no
matter where the alternator is mounted. These pumps
were used on most Chevrolet applications with short &
long water pumps until the early 1980's. Short water
pump applications are normally driven off an add-on third
groove of crankshaft pulley.

This bracket is the same as the 6-275, only a
combination front motor mount and power steering
pump bracket designed specifically for 1955-57 Chevy
passenger cars and 1955-59 Chevy trucks. It directly
replaces the original driver's side motor mount bracket
and will work with the large 8" diameter balancer.
Requires a 1958 or later block with the side motor
mount bosses. Not for use on vehicles that have been
converted to side motor mounts.
