What Burpees Seeds have Done For Me
They have saved, money, time and disappointments, for with them,
there is no buying more seed and replanting, and waiting They have for
the past 3 & odd years given, very best results, both in quantity & quality
of vegetables and in beauty and profusion of flowers. They give me that
Satisfied happy feeling that a gardener feels when he is pretty sure that
As he Sows he shall also reap. They have given me a

better understanding and love for the mysterious beauty of all plant life,
and the goodness of God in giving us such blessings They have
created a desire to stive harder each year to have even better crops
than the year befor and to try to interest and encourage & help others to
do likewise. I buy more seed than I need and share them with some
one not deeply interested, telling them they are "bound to succeed for
these are Burpee seed" and they nearly always do. So they have proven
to

"For Prize Contest",
This is the first year we have had a garden. It has been such fun,
because we used Burpee's seeds.
The ground hadn't been plowed for over fifteen years, so if we hadn't
used good seeds they wouldn't have grown.
Our flowers are lovely, especialy our sweet peas. They were blooming
three weeks before any others in our
neighborhood. I watched for the first bud and then for it to bloom. I
picked it and had just the one flower in the house for several days. Then
I began picking a bouquet every day. I gave my friends some and
several of them are going to get the same kind of seed as I had, next
year.
My husband prepared the bed as directed by your leaflet on "How to
grow Sweet Peas".
Oh! and our vegetable
garden has been a great success. We are just like youngsters with a
new toy.
We not only derived a great deal of pleasure from the garden, but it has
been profitable as well.
I am sure we are both much healthier, and hope to have a much better
"Burpee" garden next year.

Dear Sirs: Would like to write you a few words of the benefits derived from the
seeds I got from you.
I certainly am proud of my garden, as we had such a cold, rainy spring,
every thing was late, but until
July 4th I had cabbage, string beans and beets. I also had nice crisp
lettuce and plenty onions and radishes. I sold quite a lot of vegetables to
my neighbors whose seeds never came thru the ground poor quality of
seeds, no doubt
My garden is a surprise to every body, and I am glad to recommend
Burpee's seeds. My Gloxinias are very nice. Endive to.

Sirs Your seeds this year meant to us the differense between success and
failure, a good display of flowers and none at all.
This year we had a cold spring with continual rains which persisted until
the soil was hammered hard and compact. Then it came hot and the
whole garden baked hard.
We had our seeds ordered early and sown before the rains started. We
had seed from four seed
houses but the only plants in bloom now are from Burpee's seeds. The
rest are yet to grow.
We could not loosen the soil where seed was sown and thought we'd
have to re-sow everything. Not so - we now have a lovely bed of
havetena a new lawn which is perfect thanks to your leaflet: a bed of
snapdragon shirley poppies and phlox which is hard to beat and a fair
perennial border.
We attribute our success this year with flowers entirely to your seeds these superior vitality enabled them to stand what they did and come
through with flying colours.

What Burpees' Seeds Have Done For Me.
To me nothing is more pleasure, satisfaction than to plant my garden,
flower seeds, then enjoy watching the tender shoots come through the
ground and grow into plants, vines until they finally produce the fruit and
flowers; nothing is more discouraging, disappointing than to have what
is apparently a failure of nature when the looked for sprouts, shoots fail
to appear or when only partial response results from the planting of the
seeds.
In this day of complex civilization and advanced developement along all
lines, it has become a question with all of us, in both our work, pleasure,
of selection and discrimination. The difficulty now in the attendance at
the movies is to find out which film is a good one and worth while
seeing.
The chief benefit to me from Burpees' seeds is knowledge I have
gained, confidence, reliance, which I have acquired from using them,
they are the best and absolutely dependable; and that you are sure, with
reasonable care in planting and in the attention given to the gardens,
that you will realize your anticipation, have good flowers, good
vegetables, etc. In other words, Burpees' seeds bring to me the
assurance of both pleasure and profit.

used your 6145 Lawn Grass and I believe I have the cleanest Best Lawn
in our City 539 Cas Lettuce have used this seed only for years.
121 Beet Seed 696 onions and our Dwarf Peas was the best ever and
the Flower Seeds was all you claimed for them after our early vegatibles
were gone I dug trenches and set out 264 of your self Blanching Celery
and they are doing fine and the Matchless Tomatoes Growing on Posts
through hoops hand loaded with fruit of course Still Green my Garden is
16 x 40 ft so you see we make good every inch work in Store 10 hours
every day and rest when I work in my Garden I certainly have had 100
percent Profit and Pleasure untold also I our Peppers and Pimentos do
Burpees seeds grow I believe yes everyone

Dear Sirs I want you to know something of what Burpee seeds have done for me.
I have only a small garden about sixty by ninety feet. The soil is deep
and mellow and with Burpees seed and I may add a good share of hard
work the result is one of the best and most attractive gardens in our
vicinity.
In early spring I was greeted with a profusion of tulips surpassing their
neighbors in size and color. From then I have watched with keen interest
each flower and vegetable.
Tender young carrots, beets, peas and beans lend a merrier sound to
the dinner bell.
My peas and beans surpass even those of our facemost market
gardeners.
Sweet peas, resembling huge butterflies, gay nasturtiums, fragrant
mignonette, brilliant poppies, sweet scented stock and beautiful asters
vie with each other in profusion and attraction.
All are sturdy. In spite
of our dry season, not a single bed failed.
I am glad for you to know that a little garden in Nova Scotia grows,
bearing its fruit and flowers a living testimony of Burpees seeds.

I want to congratulate you on the quality of the Burpee Seeds.
I have used them in preference to all others and have had excellent
success with them.
My husband is a Methodist minister and I have to confine my planting to
things that will mature early as we never know just where our field of
labor may be after the September conference. This year we planted five
and one half (5 1/2) pounds of peas which are nearly ready for cold
packing.
All the vegetable seeds I ordered from you grew and they are doing fine.
They are a great help to us.
The flowers are doing well too and we all enjoy them, especially the
children.
Your seeds have given entire satisfaction and I expect to use them
exclusively in the future.
I wish you as great success in the future as you have had in the past or
greater, if that is possible.

Since I have planted your pure seeds , garden was is interesting, raising
vegetables now is enjoyment.
From the time young plants make their appearance thru the ground
soon show their vigor and shrift. By studying these as they grow to
maturity I have good results and a better yield. To work in the garden
among the plants was encouraging and tempting even and uniform in
growth, and producing more in the length of time. My knowledge is by
-2raising Grain, vegetables or flowers is to plant the good seed brings
success and better satisfaction and my work was well repaid from them.
The flowers have always brought cheerful times to me especially the
Asters they brighten the dreary days of Autumn. They always advertise
themselves in my flower garden dazzling colors for several weeks for
their appearance is very interesting and I spend many idle moments
among them. When the growing season
-3is over, I gather the crop and I have an abundance of everything well
repaid for my work and time and by it I always plan for the next spring
for to renew the same plans by planting more of your seeds for they are
profitable.

What Burpee's Seeds have done for me
I want to sing the praise of Burpee's seeds for they have helped me to
regain my health. The beauty of my flowers lure me out from my
slumber in the early hours of the morning. It is there I love to work with
them, and help Old Mother Nature make my garden a Beauty Spot. My
flowers and vegetables are the envy of all my friends and neighbors.
Vegetables grown from Burpee's seeds furnish us many good things for
our table during the summer months, and to cold pack for winter. I
especially like the white
wonder cucumber. Howling Mob Corn and the Sunny Brook Pepper. My
Sweet peas grown from Burpee's Seeds were Beautiful and have been
very much enjoyed by my own family and many who were sick. I have
hundreds of plants of perennial flowers raised from seed ready to be
transplanted this fall. Where next spring and summer they will be a
mass of beauty. I like to raise my own plants it is certainly a pleasure to
raise them from Burpee's seeds as I am always sure my vegetables and
flowers will be of the very best. And every Burpee seed grows.

When we moved from the city ten years ago, we were both novices at
"farming", so the first year or two were experimental as to quantity,
quality, and variety of seeds. For the past eight years we have used
"Burpee's Seeds that Grow" and have scarcely bought any vegetables,
as our garden supplies us the year around. Long before "Conservation"
became part of the housewife's inner consciousness, I canned
everything in sight, even to lettuce and egg-plant, and any one who has
done this will shun commercial canned goods, as the home-canned
vegetables are so superior.
My flower garden this year is doing missionary work, supplying
blossoms to those less fortunate, and to the sick.
The small outlay for seeds each year, compared with the cost of buying
vegetables speaks volumes for gardening. Of course it means hard
work, but how many of us are doing anything that pays better in results
and healthful occupation?

I want to tell you some of the wonderful results we have had from your
seeds.
In 1922 our tomatoes and water melons took first prize at the County
Fair. In 1923, our cabbage, water melons and corn took first prize and
our flowers second, and this year we are expecting still better success at
the Fair.
Your matchless tomatoes are the finest I have ever seen or tasted.
Our customers wont have any other kind, and our Kleckley Sweets
Watermelons are engaged from year to year. This year our crops are
looking fine in spite of the late season.
We have five acres of tomatoes large patch of cucumbers and banana
squashes.
Last year I raised such a wonderful crop of Kentucky Wonder beans,
sold so many at a nice price, and cold packed a great quantity for Winter
use.
We have praised your wonderful seeds to our neighbors and they can
see for themselves what success we have with them.
All the seeds we plant are Burpee's, for there are no other kind as good
and trusty. "Once used, always used" is a good motto for Burpee's
Seeds.

What Burpee's Seeds have done for me.
Burpee's Seeds have proved to me that they are the best seeds that can
be grown. I came to realize some years ago that it was a great loss as
well as a great inconvenience to sow poor or cheap seeds, seed that
you wasn't positive of its growing.
When I plant Burpees Seeds I know I'll have a crop with reasonable care
and reasonable weather conditions. "Burpees Seeds grow" and always
produce healthy thrifty plants.
From the growing of Burpees Seeds I've learned from the reading of
their cataloges and leaflets what varieties are best suited to our climate,
and the purpose for which I wish to grow them.
Burpees Seeds have gave me both pleasure and profit, because they
always grew and produced a good crop, under reasonable conditions.
While seeds from other places proved a failure for me.
I closing my letter of what Burpees Seeds have done for me. I can say
they have made me a successful gardner. Also the controlling of insects
and other thing that bother the vegetables and flowers. This is a great
help to successful gardning.

It is with pleasure I write, What Burpee's seeds have done for me. Have
planted Burpee-seeds for many years. With Gods help and Burpee good
seeds, had wonderful success with vegetables and flowers. We have
one of the finest garden in town. We think this good fortune is greatly to
be ascribed to the good quality of Burpee's seed. My sweet peas are
beautiful. It gives me great pleasure to give flowers to my friends. We
are selling vegetables. Often we are asked, Where did we get the
seeds? We tell them from Burpee, They have the finest sweet peas in
the world, their vegetable seeds are reliable. We have Greens &
vegetables all the year. I can the surplus.
We order the seeds early. So we can plant at the right time.
We have no Car. There-for have more time to enjoy and work in the
garden. By planting Burpee' seeds have gained happiness, contentment
and profit, & much joy at small cost, may the house of Burpee

A new Burpee seed grower derived both profit and pleasure from
Burpees seeds.
Mailed you an order for seeds this spring. My husband and neighbor put
down a seed bed together, had such a fine bed of plants, had all we
could use, and sold to all our neighbors besides, and must say the users
of Burpees plants, had the first garden vegetables to be carried to our
Richmond market.
So you see that would be both profit and pleasure confirmed, as early
vegetables of fine quality, being fine prices, and the pleasure was all
mine to know. I was the one that convinced my good neighbors that
Burpees seeds are the best for profit and pleasure that can be found in
this part of the country.

To my mind, there are no other seeds to compare with Burpee's Seeds I
have used Burpee's Seeds for the last ten or twelve years + It would be
Impossible to tell all they have done for me, One can always feel sure of
good results for every seed grows, + I have always found everything to
be exactly as represented, I have had no trouble in having plenty of
canned vegetables or in fact plenty of everything stored
away for winter since useing your seeds & that means a wonderful
saving so necessary at the present time I consider they have done
wonders for me & will, for anyone useing them. As long as I use garden
Seeds. I shall use the old standby. "Burpees Seeds". I only wish some of
those who have never used them could see my garden at the present
time & see the wonderful corn, beans, cabbage, tomatoes & In fact all
one could wish to use I'm sure they'd be converted into useing
Burpees Seeds from now on. I shall always be a regular purchaser of

I have planted Burpees Seed for Several years and always find good
and true to name. i shall always send to Burpees for i vegetable and
flower seed i have lovely flowers and a good garden grown from
Burpees Seed. I always reccomend your Seed to my neighbors. I can
truthfully Say yours are the best Seed i have ever planted, and i have
bought Seed from Several other Seed firms but none are as good as
reliable as Burpees.

The sunshine and extra vitality of your excellent varieties and colors of
sweet pea seeds has made my garden fence one of the beauty spots of
the place
The pansies and poppys are doing their own advertising by nodding
their very large verigated blooms at passersby.
The white Icycle radish is one of the fastest growing,
good tasting and tender radish on the market.
The late Stone head Cabbage is the finest grower and best keeper of
my cabbage.
Fordhook favorite bean bore until after frost. Nov. 17.
The Philadelphia bush Lima is the most prolific. I raised from a small
package enough to use while fresh and shelled enough for winter use.
The Golden Bantam Sweet Corn has pleased me very much We
commenced with our first mess July, 3, 1923 and had our last on Nov.
17, 1923
It is one of the most prolific, best tasting, easy growing of any sweet
corn.
Anyone wishing to have the pleasure of raising a fine flower bed or
garden I advise them to send to Burpee's for
"Vitality", "Thrift," and "Abundance"
