Thank you to every child. Thank you to Ms Dhami, Mrs Ibrahim and Mr Narcisse who have taught, inspired and encouraged the children throughout the year. On Friday 15th May, 14 volunteers from the company BSI came to work with Year 1 and Year 4 pupils as part of Give and Gain day. Give and Gain day is a day where companies all around the U.K. volunteer their time to work in the local community. This year the volunteers helped Year 1 build compost bins and helped them tidy up the raised beds. In Year 4, they helped the Year 4 children cook along with Jamie Oliver as part of Food Revolution Day. The Year 4 pupils made 'Squash it' sandwiches. Parking on Greenway Gardens When bringing your children to and from School by car, please ensure that you are not stopping or parking on the double yellow lines or the yellow zig-zag lines on Greenway Gardens. Children should not be dropped off in the middle of the road or on the road corners as this is extremely dangerous. Children in KS1 (Year One & Year Two) should be walked to the gate to ensure that parents and carers know that their children are on the School site safely. This week, we had two incidents of parents/carers parking and stopping on Greenway Gardens, causing a danger to children and other road users. If you are the owner of a vehicle with the registration P271 KPY, please ensure that you are parking with courtesy and care. If you are concerned about any vehicles parking or stopping dangerously, please inform the office and we will pass the vehicle details on to the Traffic Police. From June 2015, the Council will be enforcing the yellow ‘SCHOOL-KEEP-CLEAR’ zig-zag markings outside schools with mobile CCTV and issuing penalty charge notices for illegal parking within the controlled hours. The concession for parking on a yellow line for five minutes to pick up or drop off children to and from school no longer applies. Motorists are only permitted to park in a resident’s parking space for up to 10 minutes whilst dropping off or picking up children. If a vehicle is parked for longer than 10 minutes, a PCN may be issued. Note that this concession does not apply to vehicles blocking dropped kerbs, which give access to a resident’s driveway.
