Martin Alonso and Gloria Plaza founded Viña Ilusión in 1992, when they
planted their 5 hectare vineyard at 700 meters in the foothills of Mount
Isasa, one of the highest elevations in the Baja subzone of Rioja.

From the beginning Martin and Gloria embraced the teachings of
Masanobu Fukuoka, the author of the The One Straw Revolution and
pioneer of “do-nothing” natural farming. They also incorporate some
biodynamic practices. Solar and wind power are utilized.

Viña Ilusión is one of the few certified organic vinos cosecheros in Rioja.

Vinification: Destemmed; Fermented with wild yeasts in vat; Raised
on the lees in vat; Bottled with low SO2; No Oak
