Who we are
County Needlecraft is a family run business that specialises in quality counted cross stitch kits. The company is run by
husband and wife team Bill and Janice Peters and since publishing our first catalogue in 1998 we have added many
new designs - all of which are included in this catalogue.

All of County Needlecraft’s designs are from original paintings and designs by talented artists living and working in
the UK.
x The Westcountry Scenes series are well known locations in the west of England, mostly on and around
Exmoor, and the original paintings were by Susan Myrick who lives and works in Minehead, Somerset. We
are also branching out and have started on designs from other parts of the country.
x The Celtic series with its designs reminiscent of ancient manuscripts has proved to be popular and the
stitched designs are always a talking point.
x The reflections series includes the evocative “Sepia Girl” - a thoughtful, placid design that conjures up a
quiet moment on a summer’s day. Not only is this a lovely design to look at, it is very easy to stitch. And
then there is the stunning "Girl with no name"....
x The Primary series are colourful and fun projects that appeal to experienced stitchers and novices alike.
When stitched we think they look good either in children’s rooms or in simple, uncluttered settings.
x We also have the “Shopfronts” series, “Birds” series, “Zodiac” series as well as anniversary samplers and
cards for special occasions. Something for everyone.
Most of our designs are available either as a complete kit or as a chart with key - and all of our kits and charts contain
our “Beginners start here” guide.
The majority of our kits are stitched on 14 count Aida fabric. However we feel that some of our more detailed designs
look more effective when stitched on a finer fabric and so these kits are supplied with 18 count Aida. (In our chart
packs we give dimensions for both 14 count and 18 count Aida so that you can stitch on a fabric of your own choice).

We occasionally hold stitching workshops at our home so if you live nearby or if you are planning a visit
to the area, give us a call and book to spend a day with us. Alternatively if you belong to a stitching group
and would like us to visit you this could also be arranged.
We are a member of the Exmoor Producers Association and a range of our designs can be seen in their
shop in Friday Street, Minehead. Our kits are also stocked by the Daisy Chain in Minehead and during
the year we also have stands at stitching shows including, Exeter, Esher, London & Birmingham.
All sizes given in this brochure are approximate.
We always try to dispatch orders within 2-3 days of receipt but please allow a little longer at peak times or for particularly large quantities.

Knots
The Celtic knots
are small designs
which are simple
to work as they
use only whole
stitches. There
are eight different
designs in the
series. Each “knot” (with the exception of number 8) forms a continuous loop that loops over and under itself to form an intriguing
and traditional design. The 8 knots & 2 bookmarks are available as a chart pack or individual knots are available as a complete kit.
Kit colours are multi, tan, blue, green, purple or gold.
Each “knot” measures approximately 2.1” x 2.0”(5.2 cm x 5.1 cm) on 14 count Aida.

In the Celtic style Hunting Dog translates as "Let Sleeping
Dogs Lie" and Cave Canem as "Beware of the Dog"..

coloured 14 hpi aida although 18 count fabric can be supplied on

Reflections Series
Sepia Girl & Sepia Boy
Our popular Sepia Girl and her companion Sepia Boy. He is shyly looking
at her and holds a bunch of flowers behind his back. Both designs are
easy to stitch, using whole cross stitch only and both use the same
limited sepia palette. We think they would look great hanging side by
side.

The Glitter Girls are a set of seven stunning designs of early 20th century fashions that recall the elegance and
sophistication of that era. Each of the girls' dresses is stitched using rayon threads together with metallic threads
and beaded accessories - all of which contribute to the glitz and the glamour of the design. Each of the seven girls is
depicted standing on the steps of a country estate and when they are all combined into one sampler the effect is
simply dazzling. Inspired by French
pochoir prints these designs Bill
Peters are a must for every lover

The girls can be stitched individually
or in groups, with or without our
backstitch outline.
Two chart packs are available, each
with four girls (Jet being included in
each pack). Pack 1 contains Emerald,

JFF8 Dragon
Nicknamed "Boris", this large and vivid
design was introduced in late 1998 and is a
must for dragon enthusiasts everywhere.
A large and colourful design it is stitched
on 14 count aida using only whole stitches.

photographs are usually made into kits of approximately 8” x 10” ( 2.5 cm x 25.5 cm).
