JOE S. “TERRY” BAIN III

Joe S. “Terry” Bain III, 69, passed away July 23, 2014.
Joe was born May 29, 1945 to Joe and Beatrice (Metcalf). He is survived by his three sons: Caleb Bain, CA.,
Joe (Nikki) Bain, Wis. Rapids, and Jordan (Heather) Bain,
Wis. Rapids; and one sister. He is preceded in death by
his parents. A private celebration of life will be held at a
later date. John J. Buettgen Funeral Home is assisting the
family at this time.
Uldene “Tootie” Evelyn Jablonski, 88, Wausau, passed
away Friday, July 18, 2014. She was born March 8, 1926
to the late Paul and Marion (Kurtzweil) Grosskreutz. On
October 29, 1952 she married George R. Jablonski. Uldene is survived by six children: Fortune (John) Jacobs,
The Villages, FL, Lynn (Paul Flynn) Stieber, Eau Claire,
Steven (Linda) Jablonski, Wausau, James Jablonski,
Hudson, Kevin (Kimberly) Jablonski, Alamo, CA, and
Kathryn (Brian) Krenz, Beaver Dam; 15 grandchildren;
12 great-grandchildren; and a step-sister. Besides her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
a son-in-law, Mike Alft, two sisters, three brothers, her
stepmother, Clara Grosskreutz, and three step siblings.

Richard “Dick’ ‘Schnee” Vignali, age 82,
Wausau, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014.
He was born August 7, 1931 to the late Angelo
and Jennie (Ricci) Vignali. Dick and Barb Anderson were
married June 6, 1959. Dick served in the U.S. Air Force
for 4 years during the Korean War. Survivors include his
wife, Barbara, Wausau; daughter, Jenne (Jeff) VignaliMartens, Wausau; son, Michael Vignali, Wausau; seven
grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters and many nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents
and two brothers. Waid Funeral Home assisted the family
with arrangements.
EUGENE LOEFFEL
Eugene (Gene) Frank Loeffel, 84, Wausau,
passed away July 21, 2014. He was born April
10, 1930 to the late George and Anna (Walters)
Loeffel. Gene married Arlene Kolpitcke. Gene proudly
served in the U.S. Army Reserve with the 376th Financial
Management Support Unit and part-time on the Marathon
County Sheriff’s Department. He will be dearly missed by
his wife, Arlene; son, Clark (Ann) Loeffel, Kronenwetter;
and granddaughter, Gina. Gene was preceded in death
by his brother. Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, assisted
with arrangements.
JESSIE JO KARNACK
Jessie (Mueller) Karnack, 27, Wausau, passed July 15,
2014. Jessie Jo was born November 28, 1986 in Wausau
to Brian and Tammy (Schultz) Mueller. Jessie is survived
by her beloved son, Dayton; mother, Tammy Mueller; a
sister; maternal grandparents, Beverly and Allen Schultz;
aunts and uncles, cousins, best friends, Jamie and Phil
Pospyhalla. She is preceded in death by her father, Brian Mueller and paternal grandparents, Harold and Betty
Mueller. Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, assisted with arrangements.
DENISE L. ASCHEBROOK
Denise Lynn Aschebrook was born January 8, 1960,
daughter of Lyle and Phyllis (Barwick) Aschebrook, and
passed away July 15, 2014. Survivors include her lifelong
companion, Todd Stubbe, Wausau; children, Nate (special
friend Shonda Pichette) Evers, DePere, John (Liz) Evers,
Wausau, the twins, Matt (special friend Ashley Christensen) Evers, New London, Nicole (special friend Chris
Seidl) Evers, Luxemburg and Brooke Stubbe, Wausau;
one grandson; her parents; two sisters; a niece; a nephew
and her favorite pet, Tanner. She was preceded in death
by her grandparents. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home,

MARVIN D. HARGRAVES
Marvin D. Hargraves, 86, Wausau, passed
away July 20, 2014. Marvin was born October 9,
1927 to the late Faithful and Magdalena (Gaiser)
Hargraves. On August 14, 1952 he married Marcella Kaldunski. Marvin served his country in the United States
Army from February 1952 until January 1954, stationed at
Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. He will be missed by his
wife, Marcella, Wausau; five children: Mary Jane (Mark)
Peters, Madison, Michael (Cathy) Hargraves, Weston, Marie (Larry) Strasser, Barbara Merck and Sarah Hargraves,
all of Wausau; one brother; six grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides
his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers
and three sisters. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302
Sixth Street, Wausau, was in charge of arrangements.

ARMANDO DIFONSO
Armando “Armie” DiFonso, 86, Wausau,
passed away Tuesday July 22, 2014. Armie
was born July 31, 1927 to the late Sebastiano
DiFonso and Lunieda (Saraceni) DiFonso. Armie served
his country honorably as a member of the US Navy during WWII. He married Elizabeth George in November
1950. After her passing, Armie was introduced to Mary,
the mother of his travel agent and after dating briefly
they were married on June 18, 1988. Survivors include,
his wife Mary, Wausau; children Novella Lechner (Rick),
Claymont, DE, Amanda Salvatore (Jim), Wilmington, DE,
Stephen DiFonso (Sherri), Charleroi, PA, Teresa Davis
(Jeff), Carney’s Point, NJ, Ron Pecha (Judi), Wausau,
Connie Fitzgerald (Kerry) Wausau, and Michael Pecha
(Linnaya), Littleton, CO; 15 grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; a sister along with nephews, nieces, other
relatives and many friends. Armie was preceded in death
by his parents, his first wife Elizabeth, a brother, a sister
and his grandson. Brainard Funeral Home assisted the
family with arrangements.

WSD Schools Earn Awards from Wisconsin PBIS
Thirteen schools in the Wausau School District
earned “School of Merit” and “School of Distinction” awards from the Wisconsin PBIS Network, a
Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI)
funded initiative, for the tremendous work accomplished through the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
PBIS is a systemic approach to proactive, schoolwide behavior based on a Response to Intervention
(RtI) model. PBIS applies evidence-based programs, practices, and strategies for all students to
increase academic performance, improve safety,
decrease problem behavior, and establish a positive
school culture. Schools implementing PBIS build
on existing strengths, complementing and organizing current programming and strategies. The DPI

On Friday July 11, 2014 about 3:30am, a vehicle with two occupants approached a business near
Stratford and stole several hundred pounds of new
sheets of copper. The sheets of copper varied in size
from 12 inches wide to 4 feet wide and were 10 feet
long. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 19992008 Pontiac Grand Am. The loss is estimated at
about $2500.

Since he was 15 years old Rowan has worked 25 hours
a week. He is proud to say he was able to work while
maintaining a 4.0 GPA during his senior year. He continues to work at The Mint Café and Primrose Retirement Community through the summer. His parents are
Shereen and Darren Siewart.
Kevin Zimmerman is the recipient
from Mosinee High School. While
attending high school Kevin was active in DECA and competed at district and state competitions, served
on the School Senate; serving as their
homecoming officer, received the
“spirit chairman” award and lettered
in varsity basketball. He worked as a lifeguard, swim
instructor, and refereed and coached flag football and
youth basketball. Since June of 2013, he was active
in trap with the Mosinee Sportsman’s Alliance and
works at BMO-Harris Bank in Mosinee. Kevin will
be attending the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater
majoring in Finance and Insurance Management. His
parents are Brent and Karen Zimmerman.
