ADVANCED
MANUFACTURING
SUMMIT
Date:
November 2016
Venue: Sydney, Australia
Advanced manufacturing can transform the
Australian economy as we move away from the focus on the
resources sector. Australia needs to be positioned to develop
and sustain more knowledge-intensive, high value, globally
competitive manufacturing industries and companies.
The Advanced Manufacturing Summit (AMS) will bring
together key industry, academic and government personnel from
across the sector to build on the discussions and actions resulting
from the 2015 Summit. Attendees will participate in discussions to
drive change and embrace the opportunities for Australia’s current
and future manufacturers and their supply chains.
The Summit will address ideas relevant to a range of sectors
within the industry, whilst focusing on case studies and practical
applications to showcase the success and progression within
the industry on both a national and international levels. In 2015 the
Summit program featured sessions on how advanced manufacturing
can be defined across a number of sectors, creating innovative
business models to help foster success and growth, additive and
bio-manufacturing, opportunities for advanced manufacturing
in Australia, developing export capable companies and
government assistance for manufacturing.

AUSBIOTECH
STATE EVENTS
AusBiotech State Events are designed to bring
together local biotechnology professionals across the
life sciences, medical technology, food and agricultural
biotechnology and digital health sectors. Each state hosts a
diverse range of informative and social networking events for
our members to engage with one another as well as with the
wider industry. AusBiotech’s State Branch Committees host a
variety of state events throughout the year:
BioBriefings are held regularly in each state. They give members
the opportunity to engage with their local biotechnology community,
find out about key policy issues, the latest news and trends and to hear
about AusBiotech’s current activities. High profile, expert speakers cover
a full range of topics across industry sectors including medical devices
and diagnostics, human health, food, agricultural, environmental and industrial
biotechnology, digital health, commercialisation, investment and much more.
Presentations focus on relevant, practical information and case studies that offer
‘take aways’ for members to implement in their own operations. The briefings are
also an occasion to meet your local State Branch Committee and to network with
industry representatives over breakfast, lunch or an evening of drinks and canapés.
A variety of Local Investment Events are held in conjunction with
AusBiotech’s national investment program. Broker Meets Biotech events
are held periodically across the country to give local brokers, investors
and financial advisors the opportunity to hear in-depth presentations from
a number of biotechnology companies. These events also provide an
opportunity for investors to gain further insight into recent developments,
highlights and the future outlook of the biotech sector as a whole.
BioBeers & Bubbles networking events are an increasingly popular feature
in the states’ events calendar. These informal after-work networking drinks
are held regularly throughout the year in central locations. They are an
opportunity for members and industry representatives to meet, develop
relationships and to engage with their local State Branch Committee.
Please visit our website at www.ausbiotech.org/events, choose
your state and get involved in your local biotech community today!
