Configure website for PunchOut - Supplier
♦
The supplier must configure their website before Ariba is able to contact the supplier for connectivity
activities, meaning you need a technical team of your own for this.
•
Trading relationship established on Ariba Network – SSAB/Supplier
♦
SSAB must send a trading relationship request and the supplier must accept it on Ariba Network.
•
Configure supplier account on Ariba Network – Supplier
♦
Supplier must configure their account with cXML specifications and set up for Punch Out.
•
Publish the catalog on Ariba Network- Supplier
♦
Create a catalog using the button “Create PunchOut only’’
•
Activate catalog in SSABs Purchasing Application - Ariba
♦
Ariba will be testing the catalog by using a tool for catalog testing and upload the catalog in the buyers
site.

Test connectivity – Ariba
•
Trouble shooting – Ariba/Supplier
♦
Ariba will help the supplier with any connectivity issues

Log on to your Ariba Network Account
Go to: http://supplier.ariba.com
Enter: Username and Password
Click on: Log in to access your account.

To access the settings for Routing of electronic orders:
Click on “Electronic Order Routing” in the Administration navigator.

Configure your Shared Secret:
You need to enter your shared secret to validate your cXML-documents

Configure your URL for Punchout
You need to enter the URL to your PunchOut-catalog. (PunchOut URL)
You need to use secure link to create your PunchOut catalog. (URL starting with “https://”)
Click Save

Commodities required for articles in your PunchOut catalog:
♦
It is mandatory to provide an unspsc code for all your articles in the PunchOut catalog, for a
valid list of unspsc codes, go to http://www.ssab.com
•
Configure the website to accept the ANID of SSAB:
♦
You must configure your website to accept the ANID (Ariba Network ID) of SSAB. Please
make sure to add “-T” at the end of the SSAB ANID when configuring the
“PunchOutSetUpRequest” when creating the catalog on your Test account.
♦
SSAB will also demand different permissions for their users, so make sure your website is
configured to use user IDs.
•
Read the cXML Documentation:
♦
To help you configure your webiste to be able to handle transactions by cXML-data with the
Ariba Network, you should be familiar with and able to handle the cXML-requirements from
SSAB. You will fins the “SSAB EMEA cxML specifiacations” on http://www.ssab.com and the
Ariba “cXML Solutions Guide” and “cXML user guide” on http://www.supplier.ariba.com

Log on to your Ariba Network Account
Go to: http://supplier.ariba.com
Enter your User name & Password and click Log in to access your account.

Switching to your Test Account
On Ariba Network, your catalog must first be created on your TEST-account.
You will not be able to load your catalog on your production site until it has been published and
approved on your TEST-account.
Switch to TEST
In the administration navigator, you click your name, and then “Switch To TEST-Account”
Click “OK”

When logged on to your Ariba Network TEST-account, click on the tab “Catalogs” on your Home tab.
The Catalog page is now showing.

Creating your PunchOut catalog
Click the button “Create PunchOut only”

Catalog information
-Catalog name: Always name the catalog according to this standard: “<Supplier
name>_PunchOut_Catalog_SSAB_EMEA”
-PunchOut URL : Enter the URL to the website, prefix “https://”
- UN/SPSC code : UNSPSC code that matches the items in your catalog. SSAB recommends the usage of codes on
level 3.
Brief description: Enter information and relevant key words. SSAB will be able to search for these phrases.

More information: “SSAB Template for
UNSPSC-codes in PunchOut”
NOTE; Since SSAB uses their own commodites, that shall be mapped to UNSPSC, SSAB requires a
list of all UNSPSC-codes used for articles in your PunchOut catalog. The codes are to be sent in an
Excel Template available on ssab.com. The template is named “SSAB Template for UNSPC-codes in
PunchOut” and shall be sent to [email protected] when loading of new and updated
catalogs.
Enter the UNSPSC-codes used in PunchOut as below:
UNSPSC-cod = The 8-digit code classifying the article/service. (Level 3 or 4 must be used)
UNSPSC-name = The name of the UNSPSC-code according to file”SSAB valid UNSPSC-codes for
catalogs” available on ssab.com
Name of Article/Service = The name used by supplier in PunchOut to describe the article/service
When the file is completed, name it according to standard ”UNSPSC-codes used in
PunchOut_<Supplier name>_SSAB_EMEA” and email it to [email protected]

Connect your PunchOut to SSAB
When the PunchOut is created, it will show in the catalogs list with status “Validated”. Click
on the link in the column “Catalog Name”

Enter subscription
Click on the third step “Subscribtions”
Select “Private” and check “SSAB” in your customers list.
NOTE : If SSAB is not available in your list of customers, it is because one of you has not yet accepted
the trading relationship.
Click “Validate and Publish”

Click ”Exit”
Click “OK” when the warning message shows.

Your PunchOut catalog has been created and connected with SSAB.

Network - Next Step
- When the catalog is published there is a possibility to test the connectivity on your side.
- Please note that this possibility is only available on your TEST-account.
Select your catalog and click “Test”.
On the next page click “Shop” to start the connection test.

Network - Next Step
- If the Catalog can be connected to SSAB’s purchasing application the test has been successful.
- If a problem occurs, an error message will show, with the explanation to the failed connection attempt.
NOTE: If you need assistance to understand the meaning of the error message, or any
other technical issues concerning the PunchOut, please contact the Ariba Catalog
