Hotel accommodaKons, on-‐ground transportaKon, racing suits, uniforms, and all meals during each round of the championship are supported by the championship promoter, Two Wheels Motor Racing Sdn Bhd. All the riders need to do, is to pay for their own flight Kckets to the host venue. This programme is open to all Asian riders who have disKnguished themselves in their naKonal championships. The Asia Dream Cup will run on a 5-‐year calendar, from 2012 through to 2016. New plans will be draled from that point onwards to suit the Asian racing environment of the Kme. R2-‐2 Ono (1) Fitri (16) Khairul (10) Gerry (11) Swangswat (5) NEWS IN BRIEF SuperSports 600cc Asia Dream Cup The next big thing on the internaKonal motorcycle racing calendar would be the highly anKcipated Suzuka 4-‐hour and 8-‐hour Endurance. A part of the World Endurance series, this historic race is one of the most presKgious endurance races in the world. This year, a number of riders from the Asia Road Racing Championship will be parKcipaKng: 1.  Makoto Tamada – 8hr Category 2.  Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman – 8hr Category 3.  Joshua Hook – 8hr Category (Hook raced in the 2012 Asia Dream Cup) 4.  Sasitharen Sukumaran – 4hr Category 5.  Rozaiman Said – 4hr Category (at present, Rozaiman races in the Underbone class of the ARRC) 6.  Dimas Ekky Pratama – 4hr Category (Dimas raced in the ARRC 600cc class in 2012) 7.  Iswandi Muis – 4hr Category (Iswandi raced in the 2012 Asia Dream Cup) Asia Dream Cup trainer Shinya Nakano has expressed that of all the ADC riders under his charge, he is most impressed with the progress shown by 15-‐year-‐old Malaysian rider Khairul Idham Pawi. “Hiroki Ono’s dominaKon of the 2013 Asia Dream Cup is expected. But Khairul, who is racing astride a full-‐frame bike for the first Kme, has charted huge improvements aler only two rounds,” said Nakano Underbone 115cc AMIRUL RUES BAD START NEXT STOP – SUZUKA 4-‐HR AND 8-‐

SuperSports 600cc FUJIWARA PREPARES FOR TOUGH ROUND AHEAD 2011 SuperSports 600cc champion Katsuaki Fujiwara acknowledges that he will have a tough round ahead of him in Chennai, India. “India is an important Asian market and it is important for the team to do well there. Our results from 2011 were not as good as it could be. Personally for me, I like the Madras Motor Race Track. But it is rather bumpy and not very compaKble with the handling of the Kawasaki ZX6R,” said Fujiwara. “With the data collected from 2011 as the baseline, the team will be working hard to collect new data for this round. It may be difficult, but we are not throwing in the towel just yet. The aim is, as always, to win!” Fujiwara added emphaKcally. Mohd Amirul Ariff Musa, who started out the season with the Underbone Ktle in his sights, have suffered a bad start to his campaign. In Sepang, Amirul finished 5th in Race 1 but 15th in Race 2. The disadvantage was compounded further in Indonesia when he did not pick up a single point. Amirul has to put everything on the line in India if he hopes to climb up the rankings. To act as a clear career path for Asian riders to progress The objecKve of the Asia Dream Cup is to be a clear path for Asian riders to progress from their naKonal championships -‐-‐ to the Underbone 115cc class of the PETRONAS Asia Road Racing Championship, -‐-‐ to the Asia Dream Cup, -‐-‐ thence to the SuperSports 600cc class and finally to reach the world level as wildcard and eventually even full seasons in the world championships. This new class raced on the platorm provided by the PETRONAS Asia Road Racing Championship, is conducted with the full support of Honda Motor Co Ltd, Japan and is a ‘scholarship’ programme for talented young Asian riders throughout the region. To accelerate the progress of motorcycle racing in Asia With the introducKon of the Asia Dream Cup scholarship class, it is hoped to accelerate the progress of motorcycle racing in Asia as this scholarship can be offered to riders coming from countries with minimal road racing acKviKes. To bridge the gap between Underbone 115cc and SuperSports 600cc The Underbone class, the mainstay of road racing in many Asian countries, will only grow from strength to strength. Acknowledged as the best grassroots talent development platorm, it cannot be denied that Asian riders will always come to championship with underbone racing in their credenKals. Meanwhile, in order to train riders for the world stage, the SuperSports 600cc class is very important. But making the crossover from Underbone to SuperSports 600cc is not something that is easily achieved. The Asia Dream Cup uses the Honda CBR250R, a model similiar in capacity to the Moto3 class in the MotoGP. By using this model as the riders’ ‘first-‐encounter’ with full-‐frame racing, it will shorten their learning curve and enable them to adapt to the SuperSports 600cc class that much faster when the riders are upgraded. At the same Kme, the class also effecKvely trains riders who can be proficient in the Moto3 class. To support the dream of Asian riders to reach the world level At this stage, for Asian riders to progress to the world stage is all about sponsorship. A large number of Asian riders have reached a very high level in terms of skill but lacked the opportunity to progress. Through the Asia Dream Cup, it is hoped that this problem will be eliminated.
