Welcome to our 2011-2012 catalog.
First of all, thank you for your patience. This catalog seemed to take forever to get finished and off to
the printer.
In addition to all the high quality products you expect to find inside our catalog, you’ll also see lots of
new products. We’ve added a new stain/finish line, new chinking especially for cold weather, new hardware,
new hand and power tools, and new safety gear. There are a couple of new books and DVD’s also but we didn’t
have enough room for our full list of books, videos, and DVD’s so, while many are sprinkled throughout the
catalog, you’ll find the entire list at the web site.
On page 46 you’ll find a mail-in order form. Some customers prefer this method vs. ordering online or
over the phone and we welcome your feedback. Unless your order is large enough to qualify for free shipping
(see below) you’ll still need to call us for the freight cost or you can select the items you want at the web site
and type in your zip code to get the freight cost before you fill in your form and send it to us.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or comments about the products we offer. You can
reach us by phone 8 AM-6 PM Pacific time, Monday through Friday (many Saturdays too). 800-827-1688 or
503-843-3608 for international customers. You can email us any time at [email protected] and please
put something really obvious in the subject line, such as “Question on chinking”. We get hundreds of emails
per day and don’t want to miss yours.
Finally, we want to thank you so very much for your business. We’ve been here for you for a long time
(over 12 years) and we look forward to earning your business for many more years with high quality products,
excellent customer service, and knowledgeable staff.
Thank you very much.

prepared wood and is extremely resistant to UV degradation, moisture, and oxidation. Was formulated to be a stand alone
product although you may use Cascade (see below) as a topcoat if you wish. Can be used on the interior as well. First coat

describes what you want and what it provides, Transformation! Transformation Stain isn’t just for restoration. On new construction, Transformation
provides a solid foundation of protection that can actually reduce the frequency of future maintenance, saving you time and money. Apply 2 coats.
Coverage is approximately 150-250 sq. ft. per gallon for 1st coat and 350-450 sq. ft. per gallon for 2nd coat. Coverage will vary depending on the
roughness of your wood. If you are using the color Natural, 3 coats are required due to reduced UV protection with this light color.
This is an oil based stain. Some states require a Reduced Emissions (RE) formulation (see box below for explanation).

What are the RE (Reduced Emissions) formulas? Many states have
recently passed laws limiting the VOC levels of oil-based finishes to help
improve air quality. Sikkens (see next page) and Sashco (only applies to
Transforamtion Stain above) have reformulated their oil-based finishes to
comply with these requirements and we offer their RE
(Reduced Emissions) formulas for those areas. With a close, side by side
comparison, you may see a slight difference between the regular and
RE formulas but normally you would not notice the difference.
A list of the states requiring the RE formulas
is available at our web site or you can call us.

Sikkens Brand Exterior Home Finishes
►Sikkens Cetol Log & Siding
Satin finish creates a protective film which gives siding and logs a premium
furniture look while still allowing all the natural character and grain of the wood
to show through. High Solids Alkyd, Translucent Iron Oxide Pigments and UV
Absorbers, Excellent Microporosity and Flexibility. Released and manufactured
in USA in 2004 after production and extensive testing in Europe for years. Protection is equal to or superior to the Cetol 1 and Cetol 23+ system (see below)
but with only 2 coats instead of 3. Colors: 005, 072, 077, 078, 085, 996, 009.

►Sikkens Cetol 1 Generally used before Cetol 23+, Cetol 1 penetrates into wood, seals it, and provides a perfect base. One coat of Cetol 1 and two coats of Cetol 23+
produces a deep, rich-looking finish. Most log home finishes are considered a “semi-transparent”, meaning you can still see the wood grain, but
because the pigments are ground so finely in Sikkens Cetol, it is classified as “translucent”. Coverage is 200-350 sq ft per gallon. Colors: 005, 009,
045, 072, 077, 078, 085, 996. For outdoor furniture, fences, railings, etc. use 3 coats of Cetol 1 (no Cetol 23+). Available in regular or RE formula.
LF0060
$67.95 (1 gallon)
$330.95 (5 gallon)
►Sikkens Cetol 23+
Used after Cetol 1 to seal your wood from moisture. Contains a special UV inhibitor for even more UV protection.
Coverage: 350-400 square feet per gallon on smooth wood. Colors: same as Cetol 1. Sample available. Available in regular or RE formula.
LF0070
$71.95 (1 gallon)
$351.95 (5 gallon)
►Sikkens Cetol Clear Maintenance Coat
Normally, you would apply another coat of Log & Siding or Cetol 23+ as maintenance to keep your log home looking great. However, this can lead
to darkening of the wood since these are pigmented stains. Now you use Cetol Clear Maintenance and the wood will retain the same look and color.
This product is to be used over existing Cetol Log & Siding or Cetol 23+. Coverage is 300-400 sq ft per gallon for smooth wood and 150-225 sq
ft per gallon for rough wood. Apply 1 maintenance coat. Expect to recoat in 2-3 years, possibly sooner in areas of extreme exposure. Available in
regular or RE formula (see box on previous page). LF0085
$89.95 (1 gallon)
$442.95 (5 gallon)
►Sikkens SRD Translucent
An easy to apply log siding and deck solution from Sikkens for tough situations: high moisture areas, low clearance from the ground and other
demanding areas where more frequent maintenance may be necessary. The letters SRD stand for Siding, Roofs, and Decks. One coat system. Matte
finish. Although SRD is available in many of the same colors as Cetol 1 and Cetol 23+, the look will be quite different because you are only applying
1 coat instead of 3 coats. Colors: 005, 045, 072, 077, 078, 085, 089, 996. Coverage: 100-300 sq. ft. per gallon. Available in regular or RE formula
and also SRD 250 formula for certain counties in California. SRD 250 can be applied as a 1 coat system (matte) or a 3 coat system (satin).

►Moisture Meter
It’s important to know the moisture content in your wood not just for building but also for applying most wood
finishes. This Lignomat Mini Ligno E/D comes with 2 sets of probes that allow the meter to measure moisture
content at depths of 3/16” and 7/16”. As probes are pressed into the wood, an on-off switch between the pins turns
the meter on automatically. 6% to 55% moisture range. More models at the web site.

►Log End Seal
Log End Seal is designed to protect exposed log ends from deterioration due to the elements.
Sunlight, wind, rain, snow, and ice all play a role in degrading wood surfaces. This is especially
true for log ends where the end grain is exposed and cracks and checks are prone to develop. Even
if the ends are coated with a quality stain, the exposed end grain of the wood acts like small straws
drawing water into the log. This gives rot and decay an opportunity to start. If left unprotected,
log or log corner replacement may eventually be required. Apply this product over Lifeline Exterior or Ultra 2 and then apply 1 coat of Advance clear topcoat.
Coverage is 30-40 square feet per gallon. Rates vary widely according to porosity and smoothness
of log ends. Usually, one gallon covers log ends on typical log home.

►Lifeline Advance Top Coat
Apply over Lifeline ULTRA-1, ULTRA-2 and Lifeline Exterior. Also use after optional Log End Seal (see above). Infiltrates and seals even the
smallest checks and cracks. Similar in function to the clearcoat that is applied to fine automobiles. Blend of 100% acrylic polymers with a mildewcide and UV inhibitors. Available in Satin or Gloss. Coverage: 600-800 square feet per gallon.

►Non Contact Thermometer
Now you can find out the temperature of the surface of your project--just knowing the air temperature is not enough. On a warm day, the air temperature may be in the mid 80’s but your wall might actually measure well past 90 degrees--too hot to appy finish or chinking. It may be 40 degrees
outside but if it got cold overnight, your log wall may still be freezing--too cold to work.
ThermoHawk 200 uses an infrared sensor to measure the surface temperature and shows you the results on a digital display. Test from -27 to 230
degrees F. Accurate to +/-2.5%. Can attach to your keychain. Comes with 2 LR44 batteries.
LF0033
$33.95
►pH Test Strips
After chemically cleaning or stripping your project, these strips allow you to verify your wood is back to a
neutral pH, and will be ready for your to apply finish when it is dry. The pH test paper comes on a dispenser
containing 15 feet but you only use an inch or two for each test. Handy color chart on the dispenser allows
you to match the pH from 1-12. Now you can re-live the joys of your high school chemistry classes as you
make sure your log home is ready for the next step.

Saver Systems Brand Exterior Home Finishes
►DEFY Extreme Wood Stain
Defy Extreme Wood Stain is a new clear wood stain formulated using state of the art Nano-Technology to create an extremely high level of durability. Contains zinc oxide particles that reflect
the damaging UV rays from the sun like a super suncreen. When you reduce the size of these zinc
particles down to the nano level, they become invisible to the naked eye. These nano-particles are
distributed at a rate of over 30 trillion per square inch of surface area to provide protection from
the sun in much the same way as they do when used in sun blockers and sunscreen lotions. Coverage is approximately 100 square feet per gallon (with 2 coats). Available in Clear, Natural Pine,
Cedartone, and Light Walnut. See color chart below.

on exterior wood. With its unique epoxy fortified synthetic resin, this product is able
to penetrate wood pores to block out the damaging effects of weather while allowing the natural beauty of the wood to shine through.
Matte finish. Application is 2 coats, wet on wet. Coverage is 100-150 sq. ft. per gallon (with 2 coats) depending on wood texture and
porosity. Colors to the left from top are Butternut, Natural Pine, Cedartone, Light Walnut, Redwood, Driftwood Gray.

►DEFY Original Water Repellent Wood Stain
We are still carrying DEFY Original--many people have switched to the Epoxy Fortified, but others still prefer the original
formula. Water based, water repellent, penetrating finish. Uses synthetic resins and none of the oils that are foods for mold
and mildew. Low fungicide level so this product can be used inside as well as outside. Semi transparent so you see your
wood grain but there are enough pigments to protect against UV damage. Great for log homes, decks and fences. Application
is 2 coats, wet on wet. Coverage is 100-150 square feet per gallon, depending on texture and porosity of wood. Available in
5 gallon size only.

(Generally Recognized As Safe compounds). Safe for pets, people, and plants. Deters a wide range of flying and crawling
insects. Two or more coats may be necessary for carpenter bee control. High gloss coatings are reduced to “semi-gloss” by addition. When added
to your finish it becomes encapsulated to provide a “time release” repellency but you can also mix it with plain water where a gentle, low toxicity,
temporary insect repellent is desired for outdoors areas. Reapply as needed. Use all of pint for 5 gallons of finish or partial for 1 gallon of finish.
LF0032-NBS

►UV Boost
For use only in water-based stains and finishes produced by Perma-Chink Systems. Provides an extra measure of protection against stain fading due
to UV radiation in regions subject to high intensity sunlight, often found at high elevations of the country. UV Boost is only effective when used in
the first coat of stain or finish applied to bare wood. It is not effective when added to topcoats or stains applied over an existing finish. UV Boost can
be used in both interior and exterior applications. When used in the first coat of interior finishes it will reduce the “picture frame” effect on walls.

Interior Finishes
Especially with interior finishes, the moisture content of your wood must be low. These products have a Satin or Gloss finish and that “sheen” is a
film between you and your logs that moisture cannot pass through very easily. If there is excess moisture in your logs it must be given time to escape
or you risk mold growth under your finish. Verify your moisture content with a moisture meter (see page 4) or wait a season in a newly constructed
log home with the heat on if you’re not sure.

furniture, logs, trim, paneling & ceilings. For most interior surfaces apply 2 coats. For high wear areas apply 3 coats. For floors apply 4 coats.
Coverage is 400-500 sq. ft. per gallon on smooth wood per coat. 5 gallon size in Satin only.

This recommendation applies to projects requiring more than one container of stain or finish. To achieve a uniform stain, or color consistency,
for your project please “box” or mix together the containers of finish you will be using. For smaller projects mix all stain containers together in
one 5-gallon pail. For larger projects save approx 1/3 of one pail to mix with the next pail.
We strongly encourage you to test samples of finishes on your wood before you make your purchase.

Chinking & Caulking
Chinking & Caulking: what are they and when are they used?
Chinking is the gritty, mortar-looking material that is generally used between
rounds (or layers) of logs to seal the exterior and interior of the home. Chink gaps can
range from 3/4” to 5” or more. Modern chinking is elastomeric, meaning it can stretch
as the logs naturally expand and contract from season to season. It has grit in it to
mimic the hard, old fashioned mortar. Several colors are available.
Log caulking is generally used to seal checks or cracks in the logs, around doors
and windows, and in notch areas. Log caulking has a smoother appearance than
chinking and comes in many colors to closely match your logs (or contrast, if you
choose). Please resist the urge to use some clear silicone caulking you may have at
home—you probably will be very unhappy with it in a very short time and peeling or
cutting it off is not a fun job.
Please keep in mind that you can use caulking in place
of chinking and vice versa for larger checks. Generally you would use Chinking where you want it to
be seen and Caulking where you want the seam to
“disappear”, or blend in visually.
Photos courtesy of Perma Chink Systems, showing Chinking being applied.
How much will I need?
Here’s an estimating guide to help, but before you
use it, you’ll need to tally up the lineal feet you need to chink and know the average
chink gap you plan to use for your project. We have a “How To” chinking article
posted at the web site and LOTS of additional information and other Estimating
Guides online.

Chart courtesy of Sashco, makers of Log Jam chinking,
Chinker’s Edge chinking, Log Builder caulking and Conceal caulking.
Example: Tom wants to chink the exterior of his cabin.
His average chink line will be 1-1/2” wide and 3/8” deep.
Using the chart to the left, he can expect to get 34 lineal
feet of chinking done for each gallon of product.
The cabin measures 20’ x 20’ and has 12 horizontal courses
of logs.
The lineal footage of chinking he will need to do is 1040’
(80’perimeter measurement x 13). Unless Tom has huge
windows, we just forget about windows and doors when
tallying up the lineal footage so he’ll have some safety.
1040’ divided by 51’ = 30.59 gallons. The chart estimates
that he will use about 30-1/2 gallons of chinking. We
would suggest that he order 6 of the 5 gallon pails of
chinking.
Tom should consider the chinking tools and backer rod
options shown in the next sections and he’ll also be happy
to know that his order qualifies for free shipping.
You may calculate gallons needed by finding the feet per gallon and dividing your lineal feet by
that number. Although this chart is rounded up where needed, it does not include waste. Keep in
mind that the depth is an average depth across the joint. If your estimations are generally short,
check to see that you use average joint depth. Remember, this chart will help you ESTIMATE
how much to order--unless you are a professional chinker and your home is milled logs with exactly even gaps--the quantity will not be 100% accurate. When in doubt,
you can always start out with less than you might need to see how far it goes and then order the balance.
Steps for Success in Chinking your Log Home
Scenario 1—New construction.
Chinking and Log Finish are compatible and you want a
contrasting chinking color
Follow steps for surface preparation for Exterior Log Finish Application (see page 6)
Apply log finish
Insert backer rod
Apply chinking
Scenario 2—New construction.
Chinking and Log Finish may not be compatible or you want the chinking color to blend with the finish color
Follow steps for surface preparation for Exterior Log Finish Application (see page 6)
Insert backer rod
Apply chinking

Scenario 3—Existing home.
Not sure if Chinking and Log Finish are compatible
Clean small area to test
Insert backer rod
Apply small amount of chinking
Allow material to cure several days
Test adhesion by trying to pull chinking out of place
Always—Be sure the weather will cooperate with you for a successful project. Don’t chink if the surface temperature of your logs is too
high or too low (see Non Contact Thermometer on page 5) or if rain is
expected.

Filtered air will increase the life of the tool.
CC0002-AirBulk-30

How to use and keep your Albion Bulk Loading Gun in top working order.
Remember--Your gun needs to be lubricated before using and each time you clean it out.
To load gun--In addition to lubricating the inside of the barrel, spray a light lubricant such as WD-40, 3-in-1, or cooking spray on the exterior barrel cap threads. (We’ve found you can dunk the gun into a pail of clean water to wet the outside of the barrel, making any cleanup much easier).
Remove the cap and nozzle assembly from the gun. Immerse the gun into the material to a depth of about 1”. Move it about slightly to completely
wet the barrel to ensure an air seal. While holding the barrel, pull piston rod back slowly, about 1” at a time. Pause between pulls to permit material to follow the piston. In this way, the barrel will fill with a minimum of air pockets. As the level of material in the pail decreases, sink the
barrel deeper to avoid drawing air. When the barrel is full, remove it from the material. Clean the barrel first with a Spatula or Bucket Scraper, then
wipe the threads clean with a rag. Invert the gun and tap the side to burp out any air pockets. Replace the cap and you’re ready to go.
To use with an optional Follow Plate-- These handy accessories fit snugly inside 5-gallon pails. There is a threaded ring in the center to accept an
Albion 2” diameter bulk guns. It has the added advantage of keeping air and other contaminants out of the caulking. To operate, place the Follow
Plate directly into the caulking (or chinking) and press down firmly to remove air pockets. Remove the front cap from gun and advance the rod as
far forward as it will go. Thread the gun into the Plate. While exerting pressure down onto the plate, and pressing on the recoil or thumb release,
pull back on the rod to fill the gun. When full, unthread the gun from the plate and replace the cap and nozzle on the gun. Cover the opening on the
follow plate with a piece of plastic to limit material contamination and curing between fills.

Backer Rod, Log Sealant Tapes,
Oakum, Wool Insulation & Rope
Backer rod is a foam material that generally goes behind log chinking or caulking. It saves you money because you don’t apply too much
chink/caulk (you don’t fill the whole void--only the outer 1/4 to 1/2 inch depth of the void); it provides additional insulation; it helps create the
ideal 2-point adhesion to avoid possible tears (you want the chink/caulk to adhere to the top and bottom but be able to slide over the backer rod).
There is more information on chinking and caulking at our web
site.
How do I use backer rod to seal my chinked
home?
The diagrams shown here (courtesy of
Perma Chink Systems) show how you can use Trapezoidal or
Round shaped backer rod before you apply your sealant--chinking
or caulking--between courses of logs.
What about sealing checks or cracks in my logs
or timbers? Use backer rod as shown in the series of photos
here (courtesy of Sashco) before you apply
log caulking. The same procedure is used for
round logs or log siding.
►Grip Strip Trapezoidal Backer Rod
Comes boxed in 4’ lengths. Also available in single 4’ pieces. Prices shown below are for an individual 4 foot lenth of material
and for a full box. Sizes from 3/4” up to 5”. Generally friction fits into place and gives you a nice flat surface to apply chinking to. Color is white.

►SOF Rod Round Backer Rod
Combines the best of open and closed cell rods in a single product. Gray, extruded polyolefin foam made of a nonabsorbing outer skin and a highly
resilient interior network of open and closed cells, which does not out-gas when ruptured. Sof Rod is more easily compressed than our Closed Cell
Round Backer Rod shown below so one size can be used in more joint situations. Sizes available are 3/8”, 5/8”, 7/8”, and 1-1/8” diameters. Comes
in 50 foot rolls, handy packs or reels. Handy packs are cube shaped boxes with a hole in the top that you pull the backer rod out of.

►Closed Cell HBR Round Backer Rod
Grey closed-cell polyethylene foam material. “Closed cell” means that moisture is not transferred from one
cell to the next in the material so, if it was exposed to moisture, it will not absorb, hold, and transfer that
moisture. The opposite of “closed cell” is “open cell”--like a kitchen sponge.
Comes in 50 foot rolls, handypacks, or reels. Sizes range from 1/4” to 1-1/4” in diameter. This material
works very well, when used with log caulking, to seal cracks and checks in logs or timbers.

Log Sealant Tapes
These tapes are used between log rounds/courses in both milled and handcrafted log construction as the home is being built. Several sizes available.
Just peel off the paper to expose the sticky side and press the tape in place.
►Classic Emseal Tape
Comes compressed on the roll. Acrylic-modified, asphalt-impregnated sealant tape. The open-cell foam is
impregnated, compressed to the size of the opening to be sealed, and shipped in reels. The stored strain-energy of compression in the foam means
continuous back-pressure is exerted against the logs. This pressure, combined with the adhesive nature of the impregnation, assures reliable adhesion
to both upper and lower log surfaces. As the logs shrink and expand with seasonal temperature and humidity changes, long-term sealing contact with
the log surfaces is maintained. Photo shows a strip of Emseal compressed between two pieces of wood and then expanded.

Oakum
►Oakum
For truly authentic log building or restoration work, Oakum is used
between the rounds of logs to seal out the weather. Available in either an “oiled” or “dry” version.
Oiled Oakum is the traditionally used material for log home chinking and wooden boat building and it is
jute rope treated with a very heavy (800 weight) golden oil and bentonite (a naturally ocurring mineral often
used in sealing ponds). The oil makes it unpalatable for insects and mice and the oil and bentonite can resist
water infiltration. For larger gaps you can use it as it comes off the bale or you can separate the strands and
use smaller sizes.
1 POUND: 1 lb. is 3 strands 27” long. Strands can be unravelled if needed.
5 POUND: This is 12 “ropes” running approximately 1’ x 27”
50 POUND: Approximately 50’ in length, 2-1/4” diameter is made up of 8 strands of 3/4” diameter with a twist every 18” or so...Each of the strands
can be untwisted into four 1/4” strands...thus if you untwist it all the way you’ll have approximately 1600 lf. of 1/4” diameter Oakum
Dry Oakum can be used in the above applications and also between concrete slab panels. If you choose to use chinking over Oakum (more important to consider with the Dry Oakum), apply a mylar or duct tape over the Oakum to create a bond breaker.
1 POUND: 1 lb. is approximately 6 strands 1” x 27” long
5 POUND: This is 28 “ropes” running approximately 1’ x 27”
50 POUND: Approximately 100’ . 2-1/4” diameter is made up of 8 strands of 3/4” diameter with a twist every 18” or so...Each of the strands can be
untwisted into four 1/4” strands...thus if you untwist it all the way you’ll have approximately 3200 lf. of 1/4” diameter dry Oakum

Wool Insulation
www.LogHomeStore.com
Using wool is a much healthier and more environmentally friendly alternative to fiberglass batt insulation along log lateral
cuts and notches in handcrafted log homes. This wool has been treated with safe boron so it repels pests. Sample available-see inside back cover. Please keep in mind that this is a natural, minimally processed material so measurements and weights
can vary slightly.
►Wool Rope-Original
Not really “rope” but fluffy wool in a long strip about 2-3” wide and 1” tall. Generally installed along the lateral cuts of a scribe fit log home during
construction. Can be used as a single strip or in multiple strips along the laterals, depending on the size of the cut. Can also be used in strips in the
notches or in the settling gaps left above doors and windows. Approximately 48-60 lineal feet per pound. Priced per pound.
CC0013-OriginalRope
$13.95 per pound
►Wool Rope-Perma Rov
Here’s a new take on the idea of wool rope insulation--blown-in wool encased in a 3” diameter tube that has small holes to allow the wool to compress and breathe. Easy and clean installation, especially important in wet weather. Comes in lengths about 25’ long and each one weighs about
2-1/2 pounds. Price shown is per section. Photo below shows Perma Rov wool rope and original wool batt.
CC0013-PR
$10.49 per section
►Wool Batt-Original
Each wool batt weighs about 1-1/2 pounds and measures approximately 6 feet long x 18” wide x 2-3” high.
This is used in the notch areas of log homes or folded to fit the settling gaps left above doors or windows.
You can make your own “rope” by cutting it into strips to use along the lateral grooves of scribe fit log
homes. Sold by the pound.

Am I done yet? After cleaning and/or
stripping your wood’s surface, it’s a good idea
to make sure you have returned it to a neutral
pH level by rinsing or using a neutralizer (if
recommended by the manufacturer). Please
see page 5 for our pH test strips.
Why bother? If your wood surface is still
too acidic or alkaline after cleaning, you risk
your finish/stain not performing well.

Improved OxyBoost formulation. Fast acting and CHLORINE free, this powerful nontoxic formula cleans the tough jobs yet is safe to use outdoors.
Won’t harm plants, people or pets and breaks down quickly into natural components after use.
An oxygen bleach based product like Exterior PROx Deck & Patio Cleaner uses the power of oxygen for cleaning and stain removal but does not
have the inherent environmental problems of traditional cleaners.

* Uses the power of OXY-Boost™ * Won’t harm plants, grass and flowers
* Removes algae, mold & mildew
* Restores surfaces to their natural color
* Removes sun faded layers
A pound will clean 150 to 300 square feet of deck surface. Dirty horizontal deck surfaces sometimes need a second quick cleaning. Each lineal foot
of average railing has 4 square feet of surface area. The average deck (400 square feet) requires a minimum of 2-1/2 lbs. Sample available.

►OxyCling
Add to DEFY Wood Cleaner or PROx Deck Cleaner to increase “hang” time on vertical surfaces.
Sometimes longer contact times are needed for cleaning vertical surfaces like log homes, wood railings,
siding, roofs or stairs. Oxy-Cling is a safe acrylic thickener that is used to make the cleaning solution
thicker for better cling. This is not a stand alone product. It is used as a thickening additive to enable
the products to remain on vertical surfaces for a period of time sufficient for the process to work properly. For normal use add 1/4-1/3 cup or 2-3 ounces of Oxy-Cling per gallon of PROx or DEFY Wood
Cleaner solution. Mix well before using to let viscosity develop completely. Apply thickened solution
as necessary. Thickened solutions may not apply well with all types of spraying equipment.

Cleaning & Prep Tools: Sanders & Grinders
Here you’ll find both variable speed sander/polishers and single speed grinders to
clean, smooth, and prepare your wood’s surface. Buffing Brushes should be used
with variable speed tools. They provide the slower speed needed to ensure longer
tool life for the brushes. The single speed grinders we suggest for use with the high
quality Sanding Discs we offer.

Buffing Brushes & Pads
►Osborne Buffing Brush
Use these to smooth away excess wood fiber from your logs caused by chemical
stripping, pressure washing, or corn cob blasting. Not a metal cup brush, but rather
nylon bristles impregnated with grit (roughly equivalent to 80 grit) do the work and
you don’t have to worry about rust stains all over your walls. Bristles will flare out
when in use and can reach in and clean notch areas wonderfully. Bristles on these
cup brushes are either round or square. The square we’ve found to be a little more
aggressive. Best used on a Variable Speed Sander/Polisher. Although the brushes
are rated to 6000 RPM, we suggest approx. 1500 to 1800 RPM for use on wood.

Restoration Products
Sometimes it’s necessary to replace rotted wood if it has structurally failed and/or if the rot is severe, but often the area can be repaired more easily
and at a much lower cost with Liquid Wood and Wood Epox. Use Liquid Wood (1) if the wood is soft and spongy but is still there; (2) if the wood is
hollow but the outer shell is still intact; (3) as an optional consolidant before using Wood Epox. Use Wood Epox putty to fill gaps or holes where the
rotted wood has fallen out. Both of these products are actually stronger than wood when they are cured. You can help prevent further rot deeper in
the wood by first treating the area with borates. For most projects the small size TimBor works great. See below and next page.
►Restoration Kit
This kit combines Liquid Wood and Wood Epox (see below)
in a user friendly kit to repair rot damage in wood. 4 quart kit includes the following: * 2 Quarts Liquid Wood * 2 Quarts
Wood Epox
* Applicator Bottle * Plastic Gloves
* Putty knife
* Measuring Cup

Wood Preservation & Sealers
Several of the products listed in this section contain borates in one form or another (powder, paste, crystalline rod). Borates provide long-term
protection for wood by preventing fungal decay and damage done by wood boring insects such as carpenter ants, termites, and many types of beetles.
When used properly, borates pose no significant risk to people or pets and do not contaminate the environment.
Borate solutions must be applied to bare wood and once treated, the wood must be protected with a good quality finish so the borate solution will
stay in the wood to do its job. Borates migrate toward moisture (thus helping prevent decay in wood) and can leach out of your logs/timbers if the
wood gets wet from rain or other causes. Generally, you’ll be safe if you can apply stain/finish within several days of treating the logs with borates
(as long as a downpour doesn’t happen right after treating).
For maximum penetration of borate solutions such as Penetreat and TimBor, mist the log walls with water from a garden hose a couple of times on
the day you plan to apply the solution. By saturating the outer layers of wood cells before you apply, you’ll allow the borates to migrate deeper into
your wood before they start drying. After treatment and when the logs are dry enough (generally a couple of days to a week), apply the finish/stain.
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the stain you are using. For example, Sikkens suggests you wait much longer before applying.
Borates with glycol carriers (e.g. Bora-Care, Shell Guard) can take much longer to dry--often several weeks.
►Tim-Bor

Borate Rods
Solid crystaline borate rods are inserted into holes you drill. They are designed to act as extra insurance for those vulnerable areas of your
home--log ends that get hit by the weather, the bottom of porch posts, etc. They can also be used to help remedy decay that has started in your wood.
►Bor 8 Rods
(Previously called Impel Rods) White crystalline borate rods that are inserted into vulnerable areas such as the base of porch log/beam posts, logs that extend past the roof line, etc.
A good insurance policy to help prevent rot—drill a hole, insert a rod, and seal hole with a wooden plug or log caulking. Check the hole every few
years—if moisture is present in the wood, the rods will diffuse. In this case, put in another rod and try to eliminate the cause of excess moisture getting to that area. To speed up the diffusion of the borate, you can put a small amount of water in the hole with the rod. Treated tapered wood plugs
also available. Use the 5/8” plug for the 1/2” size rod and the 7/8” plug for the 3/4” rod.

Bor 8 Rods and Cobra Rods
Wood plugs, large black, small tan and brown plastic plugs
►Cobra Rods
(Previously called Post Guard Rods)
These rods are a deep green color with a glass-like look and feel.
Treatment cycle is 8 to 10 years. For in-ground posts, the Cobra
rod is installed inside the post at the ground level to protect the
entire wood member at this most susceptible area. It’s safe to handle
and is made entirely of a unique Boron and Copper Hydroxide complex. These compounds are melted and
fused into the form of a solid glass-like rod, which begins to dissolve with moisture in the wood and travels
throughout the entire wood section at the groundline zone. The copper tends to slow down the disperal of borate into the wood. Cobra Rods will
arrest early stages of decay and set up a defensive protection for years. Cobra Rods can be used in house logs, log and timber posts, landscape timbers, deck joists and posts and other places where moisture is present. Plastic caps/plugs are included in the 10 pack of 1/2”x2” and the 12 pack of
3/4”x3”, otherwise you’ll need to purchase them separately. 3 colors (black, tan, brown), 2 sizes.

►Sikkens Log Pre-Treatment
(Akzo Nobel)
A clear waterborne exterior treatment which stabilizes wood, minimizing splitting and cracking. It will keep out excess moisture while allowing
moisture vapor in the wood to escape gradually. Designed for logs, exterior lumber, siding (rough and smooth sawn). This product is used when
either you are unsure of the moisture content of your wood or you know it to be 18% or above. Apply to clean wood with by brush, spray, or roller.
Apply in a temperature range of 40-95 degrees. Clean up is with soap and warm water. Coverage is 200-400 square feet per gallon. Will not stop
the natural graying of wood from exposure to UV rays but this discoloration will be removed when you prepare the structure for staining with Cetol
Log & Siding or Cetol 1 and 23+. Will last about 6 months to a year. Needs to be removed prior to stain application.

Settling
Screw Jacks or Settling Jacks are used to accomodate the settling allowance for log homes. They are most often used under vertical posts and the nut
is loosened periodically to relieve the stress on the vertical post and allow the structure to settle properly. If you are in a seismic or high wind area,
consider the GLR or the Nortek installed with the top locking plate. To hide these necessary but rather unsightly units, see the Copper Post Jack
Wrap below.
►GLR Settling / Screw Jacks

►Wooden Pegs
These pegs are made of air-dried oak or ash. They should be stored in a cool dry place as they can shrink or swell depending upon
the humidity in your area. Also, drill bits needed can vary in size slightly. Therefore, some timber framers have an assortment
of bits. They drill test holes before using the pegs so they can match the bit to the pegs on hand. Pegs are either Straight (with
champher at one end to start it in the hole); Tapered (1/64” over 1” diameter at one end to 1/64” under at the other end); or Double
Champhered. Chart below is for either 3/4” or 1” diameter pegs, except for the 3 longest sizes, which are in the 1” diameter only.

Log siding and some milled log profiles can make
it tricky to figure out what the actual log diameter
measurement should be. Your 8” tall log siding
may actually have been cut from a much larger
diameter log. Remember, these adapters are curved
to fit the curved surface of the original diameter
measurement of the log. Not sure? Take your
piece of log siding and trace the curve on paper.
Draw a continuation of the curve using a protractor,
then take the diameter measurement of the circle
you just drew.

►Copper Deck / Railing Post Caps
The top end grain of your fence or railing posts takes a beating from the weather. Now you can protect your posts with .032
natural copper. Two styles available--Sedona model (lower) is a single piece of copper while Tiara model (upper) is made
of two pieces, forming a decorative edge at the top. The Sedona collar is a 1” wrap around the post while the Tiara collar
is a 2” wrap. Caps are made in 1/4” increments for a tailored fit. Call us with your post diameter measurements to the closest 1/4”. These items ship direct from the manufacturer and can take 2-6 weeks. Copper prices have been pretty volatile
so call us or check at the web site to verify prices. USA. HDW0070

Lifting vs. Skidding/Loading Tongs
Tong prices vary greatly depending upon whether
you need lifting or skidding/loading tongs. Lifting
tongs are used whenever a log will be lifted above 5
feet off the ground (or over anyone’s head). These
tongs are rated for lifting weights. Skidding/Loading tongs are used to drag, load and unload logs.
Select a size that is larger than your logs. See the
diagram and chart below to help you determine what
size will be appropriate for your project. Remember, a 16” size means that, at 180 degrees open, the
gap between the points is 16”. You cannot use a 16”
size to lift a 16” diameter log.
Tongs can be used in conjuction with our two
types of lifting straps to prevent damage to your
logs. See below for straps.

Lifting Straps
Straps prevent tong gouge marks in your logs as you move and position them. These marks can
be particularly unsightly on water-peeled logs. Straps can be used in conjunction with the lifting
tongs above.
Some builders ship their logs with round slings in place for easy unloading at the job site.
We offer two styles: sling and two-eye straps.
You can configure the slings and straps to lift your logs in 3 ways: Vertical lift, Choker lift, or
Basket lift. See the diagram above for clarification of these terms.

Winches
Winches can be used to drag logs from the woods or to hoist them into place. Of course you can also use them to
pull out your deer, elk or stuck vehicle. The Capstan winch uses 3/8” or 5/16” diameter polyester rope and the Lewis winch
uses 3/16” cable. Saws shown in photos of Simpson & Lewis winches are not included in the prices.
The Simpson Capstan SP model winch is now powered by a Honda motor.
► Simpson Capstan Winch Use this with 3/8” polyester
rope instead of wire cable. Capstan style allows for virtually unlimited length
of rope as it doesn’t coil onto the drum. Two styles available: one powered
by its own Honda motor (SP) and the other powered by your chainsaw (CS).
Rated line pull is 2000 lbs for Model SP. It weighs 16 pounds and can be
mounted on a rigid pack frame for easy transport, comes with a 4 stroke gas
Honda motor. Model CS attaches to your chain saw with the adapter that is
included, has up to 2500 lbs. pulling capacity (depending on your saw), weighs
9 pounds plus the weight of your saw. Use with a small chain saw 1.6 to 3.5 cu. in. saw engine. Saw must
be equipped with a 3/8” pitch drive sprocket. Winch has 5 year warranty.

Drawknives: What type is best for my project?
We offer several different sizes, weights, and styles of drawknives to meet all your needs. If you are
peeling loads of logs for a house you may find the heavier drawknives (Barr hand-forged or Montana Pro),
will make your job easier; the Peavey 10” and 13” and German knives are general purpose knives that are
fine for a few logs or some railing; and the 4” Carvers Drawknife is great for your smallest project. The
Inshave can be used in tight areas or for peeling smaller stock. Alternating between a German or Peavey
Drawknife and an Inshave when peeling railing allows you to work longer with less fatigue because you
are using different sets of muscles.
► Barr Hand Forged Drawknives
Beautifully functional tools of exceptional quality, hand-made in Idaho, USA. Large has a 12”x3”
straight blade with an overall width of 22”. Approximately 5 lbs. Medium has a 9.5”x2.75”
straight blade with an overall width of 19”. Small, also called a carver’s drawknife, has a 6.5”
blade and overall width is 15”. Measurements with all hand forged tools can vary slightly. All

Adzes are traditional tools, used for hewing logs. The Flat (or Ship) Adze is often used to finish a log after it has been
hewn with a Broad Axe (SEE NEXT PAGE) and the Curved (or Gutter) Adze can shape and smooth out inside round surfaces. Adzes can give milled timbers and logs a more authentic look.
Whether you are looking for a curved or flat blade, a long or short handle, hand-forged or drop-forged--we’ve got an
adze for you.

► Roto Max Nozzle
A great nozzle to use when water peeling logs or pressure washing to clean a home or deck. This nozzle sends out a rotating
circular spray of water instead of a concentrated blast (like other nozzles) so it is much easier on the wood and because you use
a higher psi (3000 psi), your work goes much faster. Three sizes depending on your pressure washer model. Use Red for up to 3
gpm; Blue for up to 4 gpm; and Black for up to 5-1/2 gpm. Important that you have the nozzle pointing down when you start to
use this tool. Specify the color you need when you order: Red, Blue, or Black.

► Log Wizard
Attaches to almost any chain saw and is one of the easiest and fastest tools
for de-barking/peeling and shaping logs. Peeled logs will have somewhat
of an adzed look . Bolts to your bar and the saw chain powers the planer head.
Optional items: We can drill the hole(s) needed in a new 16” bar for your saw and include
a cutterless chain loop. We carry cutterless saw chain for added safety. Chain loops are
available without a new bar--these are sold based on your bar length + 2” to accommodate
the Log Wizard attachment. Replacement blades are also available (2 per set).

Scribing & Layout Tools
Scribers are used to transfer the contour of one surface
onto another. In log building, these are most often used to
transfer the shape of the log in the round (or course) below
onto the log that will sit on top of it. Just the notch area is
scribed in a chink-style house while the notch and length
of each log is scribed in a full-scribed house. The top log
is then rolled over and the line that is made on the top log
will become the edge of the cuts made, usually first with
a chain saw and then with a chisel and/or slick. Modern
scribers have a double-bubble level to help keep the tool
level, thus increasing your scribing accuracy.
► Veritas Scriber
This very versatile and adjustable scriber
has a double-bubble level at the rear of the tool which

Often, if you are trying to drill a hole in an irregular piece of wood, it is difficult to keep the drill bit from skipping or
walking. These Self Feed bits solve that problem. A removable, replaceable feed screw draws the bit into the gummiest of
woods effortlessly. A hex shank provides a secure gripping surface for the drill chuck. The bit is coated with a rust inhibitor.

switch handle and pipe handle, glass filled nylon spade and switch handles, Jacobs taper spindle. Note: This is not a drill that
you pick up and hold while drilling without bracing yourself and the drill properly. Either use this drill in the Drill Carriage or

Making Furniture & Railing
Tenons are the whittled down ends of beams, logs, posts, or twigs, that go into a hole (or mortise). Tenons are
used in log & rustic furniture making, log railing, and timber framing (although here the tenons are squared). There
are several ways to make tenons and the tools we carry offer you two different approaches to make tenons (using your
router or drill) from 5/8” to 3-5/8” in diameter.
The “shoulders” on tenons can be rounded or sloping like a pencil. You can also make tenons without any shoulder. The photo to the right shows 2 tenons with rounded shoulders made by the Log Man tenon cutter below and 1
with a 60 degree sloping shoulder made by the NW Tenon Cutter.
For the holes to insert the tenons, see the Forstner Drill Bits and Self Feed Bits listed above.
► LogMan Tenon Maker (Original)
Use your router to make a tenon on a log! A fast and affordable way to make tenons. Mount your router to
the top, attach the bit to your router, screw/bolt the jig to your work table, slide in and secure the wood guide
of your choice, and then feed the material in, twisting as you go. Your router must have 1/2” collet.
Available with different size wood guides that allow you to make 5 tenon sizes from 5/8” to 2-3/4” in diameter. Tenons can be any length desired. Wood guides direct the end of the wood toward the router blade.
The router bit shapes the wood ends to the shape and diameter of the hole in the Wood Guide. You hand turn
& slowly push the wood through the hole in the Wood Guide. The end result is a tenon of any length with a
radius shoulder. The tenon has a slight spiraling groove, which makes it more glueable. The groove is adjustable by raising or lowering the router depth.
Pole diameters can be up to 1-3/4” larger than
the hole diameter of the Wood Guide (e.g. a 2”
hole can take a 3-3/4” diameter pole). When first
starting out with the Tenon Maker, we found that it works best when the diameter of the
wood is within 1” the size of the tenon. Large diameter wood takes awhile to learn how
to get it “started”. Larger diameters can be used but you’ll need to taper the pole end
first.
Basic Package includes the LogMan jig, mounting hardware, the router bit and 2 wood
guide sizes (#1, #2) that make 4 sizes of tenons. #3 Wood guide is optional.
Wood Guide tenon sizes--#1: 1” & 1-/12” #2: 2” & 5/8” #3: 2-3/4”

Most of these Tenon Cutters can be used with either a 1/2” or a 3/4” drill. Machined high-grade aluminum. Built-in levels. The 2 largest sizes
are available only in a single blade, 3/4” shaft. The 2 smallest sizes have 2 blades but can be used with a 1/2” or 3/4” shaft. Tenon Length can be
adjusted up to the maximum shown below. Replacement blades (set of 2) and shafts (1/2” or 3/4”) are available. Please specify the size tenon cutter

*For 3/4” drill shaft size we offer the Double Blade Tenon Cutters - they cut faster and require the additional power of the 3/4” drill.
*For heavy-duty 1/2” drill we offer the Single Blade Tenon Cutters. The single blade requires less power to run and takes just a
little longer to cut the same tenon.

► E-Z Adjustable Tenon Cutter
This tenon cutter can make a variety of sizes of tenons--from 7/8” to 2-1/2”. Use with any half inch drill motor. You
need to drill a 3/8” hole for the guide. The blades are double edged and an extra blade comes right on the tool so you
have four fresh cutting surfaces with a new tool. Replacement blades available.

► Countersink Bit (for Barker or NW)
This is an option for furniture makers who want to hide most of the shoulder of the tenon made by either the Barker or
NW brand of tenon cutters (see above). The hole for the tenon is first made with Forstner-style or
Milwaukee Self-Feed bit then the Countersink bit scoops out more wood at the same angle as the
tenon. The resulting hole hides most of the shoulder of the tenon. These have a 1/2” shaft. Match
the sizes below with the NW or Barker Tenon Cutter you are purchasing.

► Countersink Bit (for Lumberjack)
The same idea as the countersink bits on the prior page but this unit allows you to use the same shaft and blade for 3 sizes
(1”, 1-1/2”, 2”). The only thing that changes is the plug size that rests in the hole you’ve already drilled with a Forstner or
Self Feed bit. The 1” size uses the shaft alone and you fit the additional plugs on the end for the 1-1/2” or 2” size. Prices
shown are for the 1” size only and for all 3 sizes.

► Drill Carriage & Manual Clamping System
Drill Carriage is designed to hold a 3/4” drive Milwaukee Super Hole Shooter Drill
model 1854-1 (see page __) or a 1/2” drive Milwaukee model 1663-20. It is made
of 2 parts: the slide that bolts to your work bench and the holder for the drill. The
drill holder and drill then glide along the carriage slide toward the log material that
is secured in the clamping device.
Manual clamping device easily centers material to line up with the drill chuck.
Clamps on each side of the round log/pole move toward the centering point simultaneously. This system can greatly speed up productivity. Choose from NW system
which is black or Barker system which is usually yellow. Aside from the color
difference betwee the two manufacturers, there is a slight difference in the slide portions of the Drill Carriage--NW is metal and Barker is Teflon. Both work great.
The 1/2” model is available only in the Barker brand. The photos here show the
NW system. Either model will work fine for NW and Barker Tenon Cutters.

► Lumberjack Log Mate & Tenon Mate System
Log Mate clamp holds your wood securely in place in a “V” shaped cradle to allow you to peel it or, when
used with Tenon Mate, put tenons on the ends. Wood is secured with a nylon strap. Can be purchased as a
table top unit, with holes to bolt to your work table, or, as a stand-alone unit, with holes to bolt to your shop
floor.
The Tenon Mate clamps to the “Tee” handle on your 1/2” or larger
drill and slides along tubular steel rods into the Log Mate, allowing
you to push the drilll onto the wood, creating a tenon.
You can purchase the Log Mate indivually as a table or floor mount system or the Log Mate and Tenon
Mate together as a table or floor mount system. Top photo shows how you can
use the Log Mate to secure your wood for peeling. Bottom photo shows the Log
Mate and Tenon Mate Floor style combination.

Chainsaw Carving Bars have tips that are much smaller than regular chainsaw bars and are used by carvers to do detail work and by log
builders to make plunge cuts with minimal kick back. The tips are approximately the size of a dime or quarter coin and have additional hardening
at the tip to accomodate the extra heat build up generated by the chain. We carry several brands.
Because the end of a dime size tip is so small, special chain with very short links (1/4 pitch chain) is needed to be able to turn around the tip.
Since most saws come with sprockets for running either 3/8 or .325 chain, a special sprocket is needed to run 1/4 pitch chain. Not all saws can be
adapted to run 1/4 pitch chain. See the web site for a list or call us.
► Cannon Brand Carving Bars
Sizes range from 8” long to 20” long. Dime size or Quarter size tips available for each length. Cobalt at tip for extra hardening. 3 bar mounts available: C-1 is the standard mount for most smaller saws, S-1 (D025) is made for larger Stihl saws, H-1 is made for larger Husqvarna saws. See photo

► Lancelot Grinder Attachment
Fits on most 4” and 4-1/2”, 5/8” arbor angle grinders. (Some Makita 4” grinders
need hole drilled in body of grinder. Makita 4-1/2” grinders are okay as is).
Fantastic for detail work! Excellent on their own for rapid wood removal, cutting
and general shaping of many kinds of materials. Available with center holes of 5/8”
for most North American grinders.
Blades have twice the amount of regular teeth resulting in the blade powering its
way through the hardest of woods and other soft non ferrous materials.
This important feature, combined with the speed of the angle grinder rotating at
between 10,000 to 13,000 rpm’s provides users with the most efficient and powerful cutting and shaping power tool accessory in the world.
Should the blade hit a nail or piece of wire in wood, on most occasions it will cut through the obstruction. If not, the impact
will cause the chain to stop while the discs rotate giving the user a warning to stop the angle grinder. This is a major safety
feature which virtually eliminates kickback and binding. Although this tool has several safety features, please wear safety
gear. All chains are easily sharpened with a 5/32” (4mm) chain saw file. Your choice of 14 tooth (top photo at left) for
quick wood removal or 22 tooth (bottom photo at left) for smoother wood removal. Replacement chains available.

► Log Master
This tool bears a resemblance to the Log Wizard, however, its uniqueness lies
in its capabilities. The Log Master is designed as a groover and gouger. Used
to cut grooves for wiring or plumbing as well as hollowing out rails to be
used as rain gutters. Wood carvers also enjoy the Log Master’s ability to hollow out short log leftovers to create flower pots, etc. that are used to decorate the yards and
gardens around log homes. The Log Master is fitted with two 1-1/4” blades that are flat on
one end to give a square corner finish and are curved on the other end to give a radius finish.
A steel chain guard is also included with the Log Master for added safety.
Each Log Master has a gauge included for setting the blades after they have been changed
from one function to the other. These blades can also be sharpened several times. Sharpening
should be done by a qualified blade sharpener.
As an option, we offer a 16” bar that is drilled for the Log Master with a cutterless chain loop.

► Chainsaw Chain --Cutterless Chain
For added safety when using the Log Wizard or Log

(e.g. If you have a 16” bar, you’ll need an 18” Cutterless Chain Loop). In 3/8 .050, 3/8 lo pro .050 or .325 .050.

Ordering information continued from the inside front cover of catalog
Samples: We offer samples of most of the finishes we carry and we urge you to test samples of products before you buy. For
example, the finish/stain on your wood can look very different from how it looks on a printed color chart. We also have samples of
cleaners, strippers, backer rod, and wool rope. Some samples are free to you and some have a charge of between $2.50 and $4.99
each, depending upon the manufacturer. You can now order samples at our web site or, as always, just give us a call. Orders of 1-5
samples will be charged a $9 shipping and packaging fee. Add $1 shipping for each additional sample ordered over the first 5. If
you decide after testing the first samples that you would like more, this order will be treated like a new sample order and the fee as
described above will apply.
Product Literature: Although most data sheets and application guides do not make for exciting reading, they ensure that you
know the procedures and steps involved to apply products correctly and get the best results. We are happy to answer questions over
the phone or via email but it is your responsibility to read and follow what is in the manufacturers’ instructions. We send data sheets
at your request, and they are also available at our web site for you to read and/or print out. We also have MSDS (Material Safety Data
Sheets) for most products posted at our web site.
Price Changes: Unfortunately, prices are subject to change due to a variety of reasons--changing value of the dollar overseas,
natural disaster that destroys a manufacturing plant and/or materials made in that plant, rising prices of oil and other raw materials,
etc., etc. You’ll find the most current pricing at the web site and/or you can confirm the prices with us for the items you wish to order.
Regarding possible typographical errors in this catalog--occasionally something slips by and we will make any needed correction at
the web site. So again, feel free to confirm with us if you’re ordering via the phone or via our mail in order form.
Returns: Please contact us before you return any item. Try to call us within 30 days and keep in mind that we do not accept any
returns past 90 days. Items that are returned for non-defective reasons must be in their original, unused condition and are subject to a
15% restocking fee. You are responsible for paying for the return shipping.
Returns When Original Order Got Free Shipping: If your original order was large enough to receive free shipping from us we will deduct the actual cost of the subsidized freight for the item you are returning in addition to the restock fee.
If the item(s) you are returning would put your original order below the free shipping level, you will be responsible for
paying the original actual subsidized shipping charge for the entire order in addition to the restock fee.
Liability: We assume that you will read and follow all directions provided by the manufacturers of the products we carry and use
them in a safe and responsible manner. Our liability is limited only to the replacement cost of the item.

Shipment Damage/Shortage: Shipments must be inspected by you immediately and any damages must be reported to the car-
rier and to us. This is really important as many carriers will not accept responsibility for damages if they are not reported by you right
away.
If you were expecting 2 boxes and only received 1, please wait a day or two before you panic as some carriers split
shipments to accommodate the space available in the delivery truck. Occasionally we will ship part of your order from our warehouse
and part from the manufacturer’s warehouse and in this case, the delivery may be spread over a couple of days.
Web Site Specials: Visit the web site for periodic sales and for closeouts and discontinued item deals.
Thank you very much, your business is really appreciated!
