Over the last 18 years we have produced over 2500 designers and merchandisers, many of whom are leading names in the industry. The fashion school works with all leading fashion designers, buying houses, export houses, garment manufacturing companies not only to keep the curriculum updated but also to provide internship opportunities to its students. The school aims to develop in each of its students the professional expertise and the aesthetic aptitude required to become a fashion designer par excellence. The program entails a fine eye for detail, an appreciation of contemporary fashion and a thorough understanding of pre and post production cycle. Abhishek Chakraborty (Alumni) Jenjum Gadi (Alumni) Batch 2003-06 WLCI extends splendid professional training .Stateof-the-art curriculum kept me abreast of the latest happening in the fashion world. Faculties helped me a great deal to develop my creative acumen and taught me to showcase my hidden skills. Owing to the intensive training received at WLCI, I have been able to set up my own apparel shop named KOGA which offers designer clothing both for men and women. I extend my deepest gratitude to WLCI for turning me into a fashion designer from fashion enthusiast Batch 2008-10 I pursued PDFT course from WLCI College (2008 -2010) and pleasantly surprised to discover the opportunities as well as challenges Fashion Industry offers. Fashion designing extends plethora of career options like merchandising, buying, entrepreneurship & styling. I came across many ideas but my mentors helped me to figure it out. Above all, WLCI College provides the opportunity to work under veteran fashion designer which was my childhood dream. Presently, I am employed with JIMCC as senior faculty. Diksha Thaper (Alumni) Priya Arora (Alumni) Batch 2007-10 Accomplished trainers at WLCI College helped me to get the hang of fashion designing with great finesse. Faculties are very supportive and don't hesitate to answer even trivial questions. Internship at India Today Group and Traineeship at Red Stone Creation further strengthened my skills. I worked with organizations like “Fashion and You” and “FabFurnish” & showed huge success there. Ponni.M.Nath (Alumni) Batch 2006-09 I owe my success to WLCI College which provided me magnificent opportunity to harness my full potential. Fashion shows and events like YKK, Zippers, Quintessence, and All about Cotton sharpened my skills and due to which many awards and recognitions came to me including prestigious Triumph Inspiration award and award for best concept and most creative collection. Three years of rigorous training at WLCI empowered me to start my own apparel shop named NidhikaShekhar. Worked with–Fashion Designer-MalliniRamani & Study by Janak. Batch 2009-12 WLCI College helped me to kick start my career as a fashion designer. Fashion is my passion since childhoodWlCI has given me technical and moral support to develop my core ideas and requirement from its outmost base level to its best level. Internship at IKOS designs and traineeship at Fashion Factory beefed up my confidence level. Presently, I am working as designer at anderDesi under the able guidance of Manish tripathi (leading fashion designer). Internship: Fashion DesignerAshishSoni, IKOS designs. Batch 2010-14 Gaurav & Ritika (Alumni) Batch 2003-06 WLCI College helped us gain requisite expertise to pioneer our label Gaurav & Ritika. Foremost, the ambience that the college provides is panacea to learn new concepts. Professional trainers at WLCI strive hard to weed out professional incompetence in students. Presently we own an apparel shop named Gaurav & Ritika which specializes in creating distinct silhouettes. Fashion shows organized by WLCI were equally helpful to showcase my skills and interact with leading fashion designers. After finishing the ACL-2 course, I am hoping to pioneer my own garment shop. I perfected my skills under the stewardship of seasoned faculties. Pursuing PDFT from WLCI was a delightful experience. I have pioneered an apparel shop named Priyankas which is alive and kicking. Brand/Label: Gaurav and Ritika Presently I am employed with KUPIDDO as director which specialize in manufacturing fashion handbags and accessories for ladies. Brand/ Label: KOGA Nidhika Shekhar (Alumni) Batch 2008-10 I attribute my phenomenal success as an entrepreneur to WLCI. Trainers and mentors at WLCI assisted me to get the hang of contemporary practices in fashion industry. In fact, trainers have devised entirely new approach to teaching that focus more on students engagement. Presently, I own an apparel shop which specializes in manufacturing all types of outfits like sarees, lehngas, gowns etc. Priyanka Raghav (Alumni) Batch 2007-10 WLCI is the emblem of perfection and best place to learn fashion designing in India. Positive criticism by professional trainers and mentors enabled me to ameliorate myself at each step and today I have been able to carve out a reputation in the fashion industry. I completed my traineeship program under the guidance of Ashish Batra (Noted fashion designer) which augmented my confidence level. Presently I am employed with Online Retail Compas as Merchandiser and Operations Manager. Samil Ali (Alumni) Batch 2008-12 It won't be exaggerating to say that pursuing ADFT course from WLCI College was the best decision of my life and completely changed my outlook towards fashion. I also learnt a great deal from the personal experiences of the faculties. I coordinated in many fashion shows like Saemmeera's and Spring Carnival. Completing my internship at pantaloons and traineeship at handspick.com was a life changing experience. Presently, I am working as freelancing designer. Internship: Pantaloons, Rituwear Traineeship: Handspick.com Batch 2002-14 A slew of fashion shows and workshops immensely benefited me to brush aside all my hesitation and learn essentials of fashion designing. Pursuing PDFTcourse at WLCI proved to be best decision of my lifetime. Internship programs and Traineeship programs not only furthered my knowledge but also got me clear picture of how fashion industry operates. LI... © WLCI Times Achievements WLCI Fashion students designed costumes for “ELLE PASSION”which showcased their exceptional creative acumen in apparel designing. Established fashion designers were stunned to see the costumes designed by students and acclaimed their performance in one voice. WLCI Fashion students designed garments for IIT, Kanpur and bagged third prize. Students attributed their phenomenal success to the training that they received under the stewardship of eminent trainers. WLCI Fashion students ShrutiChadha, ReemaSaksena, and Sumit Mittal designed garments for a competitive event “Show your Style” organized by a Globus Fashion, a leading chain of fashion retail store in New Delhi . Students simply outshined their competitors with their stunning performance. Ministry of Textiles, India selected WLCI Fashion Student Anurodh Agnihotri,PGFMM (2005 – 2007) for a live project. The selection panel was truly impressed by the in-depth and exhaustive knowledge of Anurodh and was of the opinion that presence of Anurodh was essentially required to accomplish the project. WLCI College Fashion Students participated in “Lakme Fashion House – Design Competition” organized by “Star One”. Audiences were amazed by their jaw-dropping performance. Their outstanding performance was appreciated by noted fashion designers. Students Project Students Project Students Project Anurodh Agnihotri Students Project Jasleen Kaur and Anupma Jha presented a paper on “Process and Design Methodology” at National Textile Seminar 2005. The paper coherently explained the processes and design technology employed in textile technology. Paper threw light on many undiscussed topics in textile technology. WLCI fashion students designed garments for IIT, Delhi and bagged the first prize. Academicians were astonished to notice the students uncanny zeal to attain perfection. WLCI Fashion student Aditya Khare participated and bagged first prize at Burn Energy Drink, a competitive event organized by Coca-cola at National Level. He designed lavishly elegant and refined costume from the empty cans of Coca-cola. Audiences and judges were spellbound by the exceptional and exemplary creativity exhibited by Aditya WLCI Fashion students designed exquisite collections for “YKK”. The designed apparel demonstrates their in-depth knowledge and great knack for fashion designing. Apparels drew the attention of even noted fashion designers. WLCI fashion students designed elegant garments for “ASMI” promotional show which was widely applauded by the experts and many of them believed that students have already made a mark in the industry. Their exceptional creativity was simply stupendous and curiosity arousing. LI... © WLCI Times Entrepreneurship Jyoti Sharma has completed PDFT (2004-2006) from WLCI College, New Delhi. Her uncanny zeal to attain perfection is praiseworthy. She has worked with noted fashion designers and got the hang of modern day fashion designing. Presently she owns a retail outlet “Bhanuni by Jyoti Sharma” in Saidulajab, New Delhi. Rani Parasher has completed advanced diploma in fashion technology (1999-2001) from WLCI College, New Delhi. Rani is now a fashion Guru and counts on introducing path- breaking concepts and new ideas in fashion designing. Presently she owns a retail outlet “OPUS” in Hauz Khas village, New Delhi. Jyoti Sharma Diksha Thapar JENJUM Rani Parasher Diksha Thapar has completed PDFT (2008-2010) from WLCI College, New Delhi. She is adept in morphing mundane looking apparels into exquisite collections. Academically she has been a bright student and presented her collections in numerous fashion shows.and founded retail outlet “Diksha Thapar The styliste” in Rajouri Garden, New Delhi. Jenjum Gadi has completed PDFT course (2004-2006). His exquisite collections have been acclaimed and endorsed by leading fashion designers of the industry. He is endowed with exceptional creativity and imagination. Jenjum has set up his own retail outlet “Jenjum Gadi“ in ShahpurJat, New Delhi. Pema Dolma has pursued Advance Diploma in Fashion Technology (2010-2012) from WLCI College, New Delhi. She attributes her phenomenal success to well-rounded curriculum and rigorous training received at WLCI School of Fashion. She has founded her own retail outlet “Pem & Queth” in New Delhi. Pema Dolma Gaurav has completed Advance Diploma in Fashion Technology (2002-2005). He is a keen observer of contemporary practices in fashion designing and believes in turning anything outlandish into a master piece. He has founded his own retail outlet “Gaurav & Ritika” in Noida which is alive and kicking. Gaurav Jenjum Gadi Nidhika Shekhar has completed Advance Diploma in Fashion Technology (2006 -2009). Her peerless fashion acumen has been applauded even by celebrated fashion designers since her college days. Presently she owns retail outlet “Nidhika Shekhar” in ShahpurJat, New Delhi. Farzana Rahman has completed PDFT (2009-2011) from WLCI College, New Delhi. She specializes in designing catchy and flamboyant apparels. She is skilled in designing customized outfits. Presently she owns a retail outlet “Motifs by Farzana” in ShahpurJat, New Delhi. Nidhika Shekhar Priyanka Raghav has completed both ADFT and PDFT (2010-2014) from WLCI School of Fashion, New Delhi. She is an accomplished fashion designer and innovator. Her area of expertise lies in creating something out of nothing. Ashish Kumar has earned advanced diploma in fashion technology (2011-2014). His fantabulous designs have been grabbing the eyeballs of leading fashion designers since his college days. He keeps close tabs on contemporary fashion and thus comes up with best. The Placement Edition Ewlci Times July Edition, 2015 Moments with Fashion Gurus Leading Fashion designer Ms. Nida Mehmood met and shared her experiences with WLCI fashion students at Wills India Fashion Week. Ms.Nida revealed the secrets of coherent and organic approach to fashion designing. She helped students develop new outlook to fashion designing. Noted Fashion designer Mr. Rajesh Pratap Singh shared his experiences while his visit to WLCI College. He advised students to develop holistic approach and keep close tabs on changes in the contemporary fashion world. He also briefly discussed about the changing landscape of the fashion industry. Model turned Actress Ms.Neha Dhupia shared the current apparel trends in Bollywood and admired the creative acumen of WLCI Fashion Students at Niki Mahajan Show, New Delhi. She also advised students to keep themselves updated with current fashion trends prevailing in the outside world. WLCI Fashion students learnt the contemporary practices in fashion designing from noted Fashion designer Ms. Nandita Matani at Wills India Fashion Week. She comprehensively discussed requisite skills for fashion designers and appreciated the visualization as well as creativity of students. Celebrated Fashion designer Mr. Wendell Rodricks revealed the art of mastering fashion designing to WLCI Fashion Students at Wills India Fashion Week, New Delhi. He emphasized the relevance of bringing forth original ideas and updating skill sets and discussed the pressing needs of fashion industry. WLCI Fashion Students learnt the essence of fashion designing at Wills India Fashion Week from their interaction with veteran Fashion designer Ms. Ritu Kumar. She discussed complex concepts of fashion designing with students and explained the prominence of holistic approach in fashion designing. Fashion designer Ms. Anupama Dayal discussed pertinent concepts of fashion designing with WLCI fashion students at Wills India Fashion Week. She threw light on finer nuances of fashion designing and explained the significance of refining their creative skills. Renowned Actress Ms. Neena Gupta explained the significance of modern-day fashion in Bollywood to WLCI fashion students. Renowned Fashion designer Ms. Masaba Gupta shared the secrets of fashion designing with WLCI Fashion students at Wills India Fashion Week, New Delhi. She also shared the recipe of success in fashion industry and suggested students to hone their skills based on the changing landscape of fashion industry. WLCI Fashion students got the opportunity to meet the seasoned Fashion designer Mr. Rockey S and got immensely benefited from his valuable advice. He advised students that fashion industry banks upon agile and fertile minds and ranked creativity above all qualities necessary to become a successful fashion designer. WLCl Fashion students participated in Wills India Fashion Week where they got a chance to meet with FDCI President Mr. Sunil Sethi. He applauded students uncanny zeal to achieve perfection and wished them phenomenal success in all their future endeavors. Actor Mr. Manish Paul applauded the creativity of WLCI Fashion Student- Ms. Mannat Sachdeva at AAS Housewives award Fashion, New Delhi. Live Project –WLCI Advertising & Graphic Design Delhi, Department was selected to design & conceptualize a Calendar for Galgo Fine Papers by the “Santosh Group”, The Company specializes in supplying the finest of papers from across the world and helps add value to the print creations. Student designer Harsha vardhan was selected to work on the college project this was showcased at a widely attended function by the Santosh Group. Live project –featured in the National Geographic all roads film festival,Students of WLCI School of Advertising and Graphic Design Delhi, Nihar Mudgal and Ravi Jha were student animators who were selected by Angles Audio Visual Studio to work on the animation film “The Pot of Gold”. This was a part of an Indo-Scottish animation film project that applies traditional tribal Indian art forms to narrate Indian folklore under the series title "Tales of the Tribes”. This is an animation film based on the art and folklore of the Warli tribe of Maharashtra, India. It entered the tallest story competition. It has featured in the National Geographic All Roads Film Festival. The film was screened at Hollywood.
