A Year In Review 2013 has marked East Lake’s 30th anniversary and it has been a remarkable year of teamwork and excellence. Across the City and State, Team East Lake employees have pulled together to meet numerous challenges and produce fantastic results. This year we have seen increases in occupancy, increases in rent collection, terrific REAC scores and greatly improved recertification and accounting systems and reports. Across the company people have reached out to help their colleagues and to collectively reach new levels of excellence. We asked you to put Safety First in 2013 and we have seen a dramatic reduction in accidents and injuries. In 2013 staff across the portfolio received training in all aspects of property management from internal experts and professional firms. In 2014 everyone at East Lake will be committed to greatly improving the physical condition of our properties and elevating the level of our customer service. Tips From Mr. Safety: Work Place Safety During The Holidays Elliott Taylor Sr., East Lake’s Mr. Safety, reminds every employee to, “Remain vigilant about safety during the holiday season. Fires, falls, and injuries don't take vacations.” Keep these tips in mind to have a happy and safe holiday season. Statistics show that the number of fires rises drastically during the holidays. Make sure that smoke detectors are working, and fire extinguishers are fully charged and easily accessible. When working in very cold weather, dress in several layers rather than relying on one single heavy coat. You will stay warmer longer and avoid hypothermia. Also wear a hat that covers your ears. Keeping hands clean is one of the most important steps you can take to avoid getting sick. This will help prevent losing time at the work place. A healthy work place is a safe one. Help prevent the spread of flu with attention to this tip. Don’t stretch to reach something while seated. Get up instead. Keep walkway areas clear from obstructions. While walking on ice, snow, or wet surfaces, adjust your stride to a pace that is suitable for the surface and tasks you are doing. Proper fitting footwear with antislip properties will decrease and prevent falls as well and improve safety for all. Have A Safe And Happy Holiday Season!
