March 11 - 13, 2016 International Karate Seminar LEARNING
March 11 - 13, 2016 International Karate Seminar LEARNING & SHARING THE KNOWLEDGE Place: Kyodai Karate Do 219-48 Jamaica Avenue Queens, New York. 11428 Phone: (718)740-3493 2015 BELGRADE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP Welcome to the International Karate Seminar LEARNING & SHARING THE KNOWLEDGE Organized by Kyodai Karate Do and The Providence Business Group LLC. We would like to extend our warmest welcome to the Seminar Instructors led by Dr. Milorad V. Stricevic that includes Sensei Ivan Rodic, Sensei Marina Vujovic and our own Sensei Badyr Aschkar. We also would like to introduce to you Junior Instructor Luka Cerovic. They are all Nationally and Internationally acclaimed Champions and members of the karate club “Vazduhoplovac” from Serbia . The goal of this seminar is to take basic techniques and to follow how these techniques change in the way they should look in Advance Kata: Jion, Bassai Dai, Kanku Dai and Empi, and to see these same techniques when they are executed in Competition Kata: Unsu, Gankaku, Kanku Sho and Goju Shiho Sho. In order to accomplish the goal of LEARNING, each kata will be presented with its three components: Execution of Kata, Bunkai and Rhythm. If the athlete is struggling with a realistic execution of any of the basic techniques in the kata, in bunkai or in rhythm of kata, it is because more work needs to be done with these particular basic techniques to correct the deficiency! The way to progress is to lift the lower components of the skill to eliminate deficiencies! This is the concept of LEARNING! We hope that you will come to be with us and participate in this seminar. All of us like to SHARE The KNOWLEDGE of karate with you. OOSS! Sensei George Aschkar, Jr. President & Chief Instructor Kyodai Karate Do Seminar Organizer & Administrator Dr. Bojan M. Stricevic It is common practice that karate seminars are presented as two types: Sparing Seminar or Kata Seminars, separate from each other. We believe that a properly learned kata is the foundation for effective sparring and that effective sparring is no more than a sequence of combinations from one of the three types of kata: Beginner’s, Advanced or Competition Kata. The objective of this seminar is to show that: There is no effective sparring outside of kata combinations & There is no kata outside of sparring combinations! These are true values of Traditional Karate-Do which need to be part of values of Sports Karate is Sports Karate is to have bright future! Karate is one large jigsaw puzzle made out of building blocks which are called sparring and kata! P.S. In the first tournament competition in sparring and kata in 1957 organized by Master Masatoshi Nakayama, Chairman The Japan Karate Association, Sensei Hirokazu Kanazawa took First Place in Kata as well as First Place in Sparring! Is there a great lesson to be learn? We invite you to come to be part of March 11-13, 2016 Karate Seminar LEARNING & SHARING THE KNOWLEDGE and to be with us to welcome International Instructors that will lead all the trainings in this event.
