The design is based on a rotating disk, situated at an angle, whose working side is provided with a double belt spiral forming the letter “G“. Owing to their surface tension oil substances tend to form stains on as large an area as possible and their thickness is as minimum as possible. The effort is to reduce the forming of this layer as much as possible by collecting it actively from the water surface and concentrating it in a minimum space, and thus the height must rise. Thus conditions for successful separation are created. The film collection is provided by the spiral situated on the lower side of the disk; entering the water surface at an angle, and while rotating, it traps a certain surface into a narrowing space which moves towards the centre where it enters the hollow shaft. While rotating it will trap a certain amount of air that will form a bubble. This will pass with the trapped liquid into the shaft hollow, and owing to its pressure impulse and the effect of the lifting forces of water the liquid layer will be separated into the collection space through the openings in the hollow shaft.
